Fairview (CWC561946) is a reverse level, semi-detached cottage with an entrance on the first floor and a large living/dining room, a cosy wood-burning stove, there is a west-facing conservatory down a couple of steps with sofa and access to a small private garden. A family bedroom on the first floor provides a level living area for those with a mobility issue. On the ground floor are further bedrooms and a family bathroom. Barn Cottage (CWC562587) is also a reverse level, semi-detached cottage with two bedrooms on the ground floor.
This is a real farm experience, fresh free-range eggs are available from the owners, and there are a number of walks across the delightful 150 acres. This is a dog-friendly property however please note that it is a working Beef and Sheep farm, so dogs must be kept under control.
Further along the coast is Sandymouth, a large beach ideal for families due to its lovely sand, rock pools and tea rooms. A short drive north over the border into Devon leads to the quaint village of Hartland which has a magnificent church with an amazing painted ceiling and one of the tallest towers in England. Hartland Quay has a hotel and Wreckers Bar as the coast here is littered with wrecks and is a lovely spot for some lunch. Also well worth a visit is the world-famous fishing village of Clovelly. The cobbled, traffic-free, high street is built into a cleft in a 400’ high cliff and tumbles its way down past whitewashed cottages festooned with flowers to the tiny working port. Beach 2 miles.

Heatherstone is a spacious, detached family home providing extended family and friends with an ideal property in which to spread out and relax. The property is close to Tehidy Country Park with over 250 acres of woodland, walks, wildlife trails and a golf course. The popular beach destinations of Portreath and Porthtowan are close by, and both offer excellent beach cafés and host a range of events.
The house sits in a quiet, prestigious, residential area behind two large gates and there is ample parking for at least 5 cars. Head slightly south to Gwithian and the famous lighthouse at Godrevy sits proudly on its rocky outcrop. The area attracts seals, dolphins, basking sharks and is a great spot for bird watchers, with the wide estuary at Hayle and marshes at nearby Marazion. The Fish Cellars is the perfect base for you to explore this historic and exciting area, known as the hidden gem of Cornwall. Portwrinkle is a small village on the south east coast of Cornwall, with views along Whitsand Bay, which can be seen for miles on a sunny day from the private balcony. Portwrinkle has two sand and shingle beaches, one of which is Finnygook beach and is popular with experienced surfers, however there are plenty of rock pools for the children to explore (nets available in the house), or you can just sit back and relax and take in the dramatic coastline around you.
The South West Coast Path is only 100 yards away and is perfect for enjoying a leisurely walk, whilst taking in the spectacular views of the coastline. It is characterised by high cliffs, dramatic scenery and long stretches of sandy beaches just waiting to be discovered.
A short drive away, or if you’re feeling adventurous, an 8-mile coastal path walk, is the traditional fishing village of Looe. The long harbour wall stretches up to the Victorian bridge. You can take a trip to Looe Island and explore the rock pools or go crabbing, you may even be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the grey seal colony. There’s plenty of opportunities for sailing and fishing trips, too. You can also relax on the sandy beach in Looe, paddle in the sea or roam around the shops, museums and galleries. The local fish market sells fish straight off the boats from the harbour, something for a special dinner perhaps.
Down the road from Looe is the historic fishing village of Polperro with its winding streets, once a thriving centre for smugglers. The pretty village cottages are perched on steep slopes overlooking the harbour. There are many displays of local art and crafts, and you can sample local produce in one of the many cafés and restaurants Polperro has to offer. The inner harbour is full of colourful boats and is still a working harbour to this day.
Slightly further afield are the famous Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan, both around a 50-60-minute drive away. The Eden Project hosts concerts and themed events throughout the year and has plenty to keep children and adults fascinated. The Lost Gardens of Heligan, set in 200 acres of garden history, were once lost under brambles and have been restored to their former glory. You can explore the gardens and the estate in your own time and appreciate why Heligan is one of the finest gardens in England. Historic homes closer to hand are Mount Edgcumbe House and Anthony House.
There is so much to see and do here, beautiful beaches, fishing villages, coastal walks, cycling, fishing, golf, horse riding and a plethora of National Trust properties are all available locally. Beach 170 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant.

Polean Farm Cottages are located in Cornwall, down green lanes, off the Looe to Polperro road, just outside the village of Pelynt. The farm is set amongst rolling farmland and is less than 2 miles from the sea. All of the cottages are full of character and provide a cosy home-from-home. They have all been converted from original farm buildings which date back to the 18th century.
The Old Farmhouse (ref UK12895) is a historical, semi-detached farmhouse which has been tastefully renovated and is perfect for a large family get together or for two families to holiday together.
Little Owls Cottage (ref UK12896) is a detached barn named after the owls that still live in the nesting boxes around the building which can sometimes be heard at night. It is set in its own garden with glorious views across the farm and towards the village of Pelynt.
Rosebud Cottage (ref UK12897) and Shires Rest (ref UK12899) are pleasant, beamed cottages with lovely countryside views. Before being converted, both cottages were used to store hay in the winter and you can still see many of the original features.
Threpney Cottage (ref UK12898) is an imaginatively converted ’roundhouse’ and is full of character. The cottage was named after the old twelve sided three penny piece due to its shape.
Twinkles Cottage (ref UK12900) is a charming and spacious ‘upside down’, beamed cottage, with great views across the farm and surrounding countryside.
Waggoners Cottage (ref UK12901) is a delightful single-storey cottage, with its own garden and views of the front fields and the children’s play area at the rear. The cottage was named after the wagons that used to be stored in it and you can still see many of the original features of the barn.
The Mealhouse (ref UK12902) was originally used to store the feed or ‘meal’ for the pigs that resided in the pig sty which can still be seen across from it. The Mealhouse is detached and set slightly apart from the other cottages, offering uninterrupted views across the farm.
Polean Farm provides the perfect destination for a family holiday. The farm offers animal feeding each week day morning, where you may help bottle feed lambs (seasonal) and hand feed pigmy goats and chickens, as well as enjoy pony or tractor rides! The farm is also a working livery yard and children and parents often enjoy visiting the horses and ponies each day.
Guests have free use of an indoor heated swimming pool just a few minutes’ drive away. It’s perfect for families and children who want to splash around or those wanting to put in a few lengths and keep fit. Guests are also welcome to make free use of the nightly entertainment at the same local holiday complex which is just a few minutes’ drive from the farm. The entertainment is on every night and includes children’s entertainment, followed by grown up entertainment with top musicians, performers and comedians regularly appearing throughout the season. Children are allowed in the venue for the whole evening. Please note, the pool is not available during August due to overcrowding, and entertainment is not available November-March (except during school holidays). One of the most popular beaches close by is Trebarwith Strand beach which is just over 2 miles from the cottage. The sandy beach becomes completely covered at high tide and is accessed over rocks when approached from the pretty village of Treknow down a picturesque valley.
