- Bude, EnglandRecently renovated this stunning barn conversion has been tastefully decorated and equipped and is spacious, bright and welcoming, yet the underfloor heating will insure this property remains ideal for a winter break. There are a wealth of things to do on the farm to keep youngsters entertained including plethora of farm animals, a communal swimming pool which is heated and will be open for use between May half term and mid September, a tennis court, games room and play area.
This comfortable, dog friendly, holiday home is a 15-minute walk from Widemouth Bay which is a fantastic beach and has a vast expanse of golden sands at low tide and many rock pools to explore. The surf is often outstanding, the sun hits the beach for most of the day and the sunsets over the sea are simply magical. 3 miles to the north is Bude, a vibrant, bustling little tourist town with a wealth of restaurants and amenities.
For walkers and cyclists the area is full of superb routes and Bude lies at the centre of the most dramatic stretch of the south west coastal footpath. There are numerous local villages and landmarks to explore and much of the area is a nature lovers paradise. Bude is only a couple of minutes down the road and has the full range of facilities that one would expect of a small town including a wide range of shops, pubs and restaurant.
Bude is possibly more diverse than any other holiday destination in Cornwall. Most major villages, towns and attractions are within an hour’s drive; and because Bude sits on the county border, visitors can explore the delights of both Devon and Cornwall at their leisure. Look past the eight main beaches and many smaller hidden coves and you will soon see there really is something for everyone. In the centre of Bude there is a huge, sandy beach which is a favourite with children and adults alike,there are a host of pubs, cafés and restaurants to suit every palate. St Just, EnglandStone Farm Cottage is a beautifully presented granite cottage with rolling rural views derelict tin mine engine houses dot the landscape and there are magnificent sea views from the top of the garden. A small stream trickles through the garden and there is access to a shared (with the owners) covered swimming pool which is heated and available from the beginning of June until the beginning of September.
Inside is a stylishly decorated, open plan living space with doors leading to the garden, original beams, and a cosy wood burner to warm you up after a day exploring the dramatic coastal scenery or checking out the surf. The well-equipped kitchen area is a joy to cook in, why not take you holiday feast outside and dine al fresco or fire up the BBQ on a beautiful summer evening. To one side of the living space is the master bedroom with kingsize bed and en-suite wet room. Bojewyan is a small settlement to the east of Pendeen which is famous for its industrial heritage. Pendeen village has a general store and Post office and there are four local pubs serving food. Three of these, as well as a takeaway fish and chip shop and a Spanish tapas restaurant, are all within a 2-minute drive or a 10-minute walk from the property.
The St Just area has a rich mining history and has now been designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and is also in one of the twelve Cornish Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Pendeen Lighthouse and the secluded Portheras Cove and beach are a mile to the north. The coastline in this part of Cornwall is simply outstanding and the road from St Ives to St Just is possibly the most scenic drive in the county. - Wadebridge, EnglandLamellen Lodge is a charming Victorian Gate Lodge at the entrance to Lamellen Estate and the private drive up to the main house. Newquay, EnglandFistral Court is an exclusive development and Crantock is an expansive property over three floors with amazing views of Fistral Beach in fact, on entering the property from Pentire Avenue your eyes are immediately drawn through the open plan kitchen and dining area to the magnificent sea views, there is a shared swimming pool, heated from May through to 1st November. It is rarely crowded and can also be viewed from the balcony and lounge. The double aspect living room is bright and sumptuously furnished with a large Smart TV and sofas. The bedrooms are immaculate, and the master also has fantastic views of Fistral. One thing is certain, having sundowners on the balcony here and eating al fresco may well convince you of being in the Mediterranean!
Crantock occupies a breath-taking position in Newquay on the Pentire headland with outstanding, forever changing, views across Fistral beach, at low tide there are acres of golden sand and the clear blue sea with its brilliant colours drifting from magical turquoise to ultramarine. Newquay golf club is a 15-minute walk away as is the bustling town centre. To get to Crantock beach, (not suitable for the less mobile, pushchairs or wheelchairs), there is a footpath and then steps down to a ferry landing stage from where you can take a very small foot ferry over to Crantock beach. St Mawes, EnglandCobblestones has some of the best panoramic views in St Mawes, being situated in the exclusive western end of the village close to the castle built by Henry VIII in the 1540s.
