Formerly part of the Foremark Hall Estate and on the edge of the National Forest, these three Grade II listed properties date from 1752. They enjoy a peaceful rural holiday location with excellent local walks and great views of the Grade I listed Foremark Hall, a Georgian-Palladian country house. Foremark Threshing Barn is a beautifully converted spacious barn with a full height atrium style dining area displaying the original roof timbers and galleried landing. From here, full width French windows lead to a large garden which features a paved patio area with garden furniture and a barbecue. Repton Cottage is named after the nearby village of Repton, the historic capital of Mercia. Burdett’s Cottage is named after the Burdett family whose ancestral home was Foremark Hall next door. This delightful cottage can be found on the edge of the Peak District in the picturesque village of Cutthorpe, down a private country lane on the owner’s non-working farm of 2 acres. Green Farm is surrounded by fields, woodland, footpaths and bridleways with direct access to the Linacre Reservoirs and Holmebrook Country Park. The Pig Sty is a beautifully converted stone barn, situated over two floors. It has been modernised throughout whilst retaining many original features. The ground floor is a large open plan living space complete with a warming wood burner, leather corner sofa, a large LCD TV and exposed stone walls. There is also a fully-equipped kitchen/dining room, a great social space with a large dining table to enjoy a home cooked meal with all the family. Head upstairs where you will find the bathroom and two generously sized bedrooms; a double bedroom which enjoys views over the countryside through the large picture widow and a twin bedroom which is en-suite. After a busy day exploring the surrounding area, the private garden with a covered hot tub (available at an additional charge) is a great place to relax and unwind. Double glazed with underfloor heating downstairs and centrally heated throughout, this barn is perfect for families and groups all year round. Additional towels and gowns are also included.

Cutthorpe has two pubs within walking distance that are dog friendly and serve food. It has a pretty village green and benefits from panoramic views over Chesterfield with its famous crooked spire. The village is located on the edge of the Peak District National Park, yet is only 3 miles from the popular market town of Chesterfield. Its perfect location allows you to explore historic houses, walking, cycling and visiting the tourist towns of Bakewell, Matlock, Castleton, Buxton, Eyam and Hathersage. If its stately homes, castles and gardens you would like to visit, the magnificent Chatsworth House is only 10 minutes drive away; the grounds and house will provide a full day out. Within 30 minutes you can also visit Packwood house, Bolsover castle, Renishaw hall, Haddon hall and Hardwick hall.

For those that are more active, there are numerous options varying from local walks from your door, to more adventurous walks in the Peak District. Cyclists are also well catered for with a variety of road and off road tracks and trails. Additionally there is shooting, canoeing, horse riding, go ape, abseiling, climbing, fishing and golf all available nearby. Alternatively you can just relax and enjoy the tranquillity that Green Farm offers. The nearest shop is 2 miles, café 1½ miles, post office, doctors are all available locally.

Surrounded by dramatic panoramic views of South Head and Cracken Edge the area is popular with hikers and ramblers with an abundance of superb walks literally from the doorstep including up towards Kinder Scout. Alternatively, you can jump on the train at Chinley to any of the Hope Valley stations (as well as both Manchester and Sheffield), and make your way back to the village perhaps stopping at the award-winning traditional country pub, which is less than 1 mile from Naze farm, for food and refreshments.
The centre of the Chinley is around 0.5 miles from the property and offers a good range of shops and facilities, with both Hayfield and Chapel-en-le-Frith also just 10 minutes away. Within a 20-minute drive is the spa town of Buxton, together with the beautiful villages of both Castleton and Edale. The fascinating plague village of Eyam and ever ever-evolving market town of Bakewell can be reached in around 30 minutes and Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, and Holmfirth Vineyard all around 45 minutes. Finally, by prior arrangement the friendly owners who live onsite will take you on a tour of their small holding to meet the quite wonderful and friendly livestock.

Nestled just beyond the Cromford Canal in the pretty village of Whatstandwell sits Barley Cottage (ref UK32240) and Wheatsheaf Cottage (UK32242), a perfectly located haven ready to welcome you for your break in this wonderful are of Derbyshire. The cottage is part of a Grade II listed former inn believed to date back to the 1600s. In its prime The Wheatsheaf Inn is reported to have been a very popular public house. In 1880 Florence Nightingale considered purchasing the property to convert into a coffee house and reading rooms, to offer an alternative to alcohol for the working man, as all-night drinking sessions were not uncommon at that time.

A real must is a visit back in time to Crich Tramway Village, where you can take a trip through history at The National Tramway Museum, or explore the magnificent Chatsworth House in Bakewell, a filming location for the feature film ’Pride and Prejudice’, as the handsome Mr Darcy’s Pemberley Manor, set within vast grounds and filled with a magnificent collection, including artefacts from Ancient Egypt, some of Europe’s best art collections and modern sculpture. South of the town is the start of the High Peak Cycle Trail, and to the north are the market towns of Bakewell and Hassop - not to be missed! Shop 3 miles, pub 1 mile and restaurant 500 yards.

Venturing up the steep stairs, you’ll find a cosy double bedroom alongside a twin bedroom, both offering a restful night’s slumber. The shower room is also on this floor, offering simplicity and ease for a quick rinse in the morning or a relaxing soak after a day’s adventure. Back downstairs, the modern kitchen is well equipped, with a door leading out to a nice rear, and shared access to an enclosed patio, with garden furniture to sit out in the summer. Whaley Bridge is a small town located in Derbyshire, England, known for its picturesque surroundings and the iconic Whaley Bridge Reservoir. This cosy cottage has been renovated in 2022 to a very high standard, where great thought and craftmanship has gone into every aspect making it a fantastic base for your Peak District base.

Taddington village is in the heart of the Peak District and it has a great pub serving fantastic food within walking distance of the property. You can head out on foot on endless walks or explore the local towns of Bakewell, Buxton and Chatsworth plus lots more!
