There are many attractions around with Calke Abbey and Derby with its theatres, clubs and restaurants within a 15 minute drive, whilst Ashbourne and Dovedale are 15 miles. Well worth a day out for any family or group are Matlock Bath, 20 miles, Alton Towers, 22 miles and Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall, a comfortable drive away. This delightful cottage can be found on the edge of the Peak District in the picturesque village of Cutthorpe, down a private country lane on the owner’s non-working farm of 2 acres. Green Farm is surrounded by fields, woodland, footpaths and bridleways with direct access to the Linacre Reservoirs and Holmebrook Country Park. Tawny Owl Barn is a beautifully converted stone barn, situated over two floors, retaining many original features. The ground floor lays claim to a cosy living room complete with a warming wood burner, leather sofas, exposed stone walls and wooden beams. There is also a fully-equipped kitchen/dining room, a great social space with a large dining table so you can have a home cooked meal with all the family, as well as a single bedroom with an oak sliding barn door. Head upstairs where you will find two en-suite bedrooms with varnished, natural wooden floors, one with a double bed and one with twin beds. Double glazed and centrally heated throughout, this barn is perfect for families and groups all year round.
Outside, there is a fully enclosed private garden with a patio table and chairs, a barbeque and views over open countryside. There is a gate giving access to the fully enclosed hot tub (which is available all year for an additional charge, payable locally). This also includes the supply of additional towels and dressing gowns. We have a one acre paddock to exercise your dog in. Up to two well behaved dogs.
Cutthorpe has two pubs within walking distance that are dog friendly and serve food. It has a pretty village green and benefits from panoramic views over Chesterfield with its famous crooked spire. The village is located on the edge of the Peak District National Park, yet is only 3 miles from The popular market town of Chesterfield. Its perfect location allows you to explore historic houses, walking, cycling and visiting the tourist towns of Bakewell, Matlock, Castleton, Buxton, Eyam and Hathersage. If its stately homes, castles and gardens you would like to visit, the magnificent Chatsworth House is only 10 minutes drive away; the grounds and house will provide a full day out. Within 30 minutes you can also visit Packwood house, Bolsover castle, Renishaw hall, Haddon hall and Hardwick hall.

For those that are more active, there are numerous options varying from local walks from your door, to more adventurous walks in the Peak District. Cyclists are also well catered for with a variety of road and off road tracks and trails. Additionally there is shooting, canoeing, horse riding, go ape, abseiling, climbing, fishing and golf all available nearby. Alternatively you can just relax and enjoy the tranquillity that Green Farm offers. The nearest shop is 2 miles, café 1½ miles, post office, doctors are all available locally.

This delightful semi-detached bungalow lies in an idyllic location, surrounded by the spectacular countryside of the White Peak and close to the owner’s home, offering an ‘away from it all’ holiday retreat and is perfect for anyone who loves the great outdoors. There is an abundance of walking direct from the door, including to the sharp-edged limestone Chrome Hill and Parkhouse Hill, which as the remains of coral reefs are among the most remarkable sights of the area. The location of Booth Farm Bungalow is approached by a winding road through stunning limestone scenery and open moorland, and yet whilst rural, is just 5 miles from the Peak Park centre of Buxton. Longnor Village with its quaint cobbled market square and traditional pubs is just a 10 minute drive, and the ever popular villages of Hartington, Bakewell, Eyam and Castleton are all easily reachable in around half an hour, as are the magnificent historic houses of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall. Horse riding can be found nearby. Shop, pub and restaurant 4¼ miles.

Swallows is an idyllic barn conversion within Brook Farm and offers cosy and comfortable accommodation to sleep two guests.
Enter into the kitchen where you will find all the equipment you should need during your stay, then through to the living room where there is a table and chairs, overlooking the grounds and views of Brook Farm, comfy sofa and TV. The double bedroom is light and comfortable with an en-suite bathroom. A bistro set sits outside the front door for you to enjoy whilst planning your exciting day ahead, whilst across the drive is a shared lawned garden that guests are free to enjoy.
Nestled in an excellent location for those who love the outdoors, guests will find an abundance of activities to enjoy nearby, including walking, cycling and watersports to name a few. The village of Middle Mayfield is set amidst stunning scenery and is only a short distance from the lovely market town of Ashbourne with its interesting streets and cobbled alleys. It also features antique shops and a fabulous choice of pubs and restaurants for all to enjoy.
At the southern end of the Peak District National Park you will be spoilt for things to fill your day. The nearby Dove and Manifold Valley provide a peaceful place to enjoy, whilst kayaking, sailing, windsurfing and cycling are all available at Carsington Water. For the thrill seekers amongst you, the renowned Alton Towers theme park is well worth a visit. Nearby you will discover many historic houses such as Chatsworth and Haddon Hall, and of course let’s not forget the market town of Bakewell, famous for its delicious pudding.
