All the properties at Horselake have a private garden or courtyard, whilst enjoying the freedom to roam the grounds and make the most of the shared facilities. Ideal for exploring South Devon with its stunning coastline, and resorts such as Dawlish and Teignmouth. Rugged Dartmoor is only a short drive, and many family attractions are within easy reach including National Trust-owned Castle Drogo, Fingle Bridge, the Teign Gorge, and Canonteign Falls and Country Park. The properties are within 10 miles of the old cathedral city of Exeter, with its many varied attractions including a racecourse, shopping, antique shops, guided tours and a host of summer festivals. This is a really dog-friendly area with some local dog-friendly beaches. The history of the cottage is amazing and was previously the village Drapery Shop. Enjoy glorious valley views from this stunning terraced holiday house, ideally located within the historic village of Hartland on the breathtaking North Devon coast. This stunning area has much to offer with the Heritage coastline being popular with walkers and bird-watchers, and the dramatic beach at Hartland Quay is just 2 miles away. The famous surfing beaches of Westward Ho! and Bude are an easy drive and for family fun, The Big Sheep and The Milky Way adventure parks are close by. There are numerous National Trust properties in the area, as well as the RHS gardens at Rosemoor and Docton Mill. Hartland Abbey is well worth a visit, along with the lighthouse at Hartland Point and even the shipwreck museum at Hartland Quay. Clovelly with its quaint cobbled streets and picturesque harbour is a must. This beautiful area is a very famous filming location for many films and TV programmes. Beach 2 miles. The pretty village of Bradworthy is approximately 1 mile and has a pub, church, post office, butchers, general stores and a fish and chip shop. This is a superb location with something for everyone. Fishing, sailing, surfing, horse riding and mountain boarding are available locally, whilst the coastal resort of Bude, 9 miles, has fine sandy beaches and excellent surfing, as well as an 18-hole golf course, restaurants, gift shops and galleries. The Tamar Lakes are within a short drive, offering a variety of activities including walking, fishing, sailing, kayaking and windsurfing. Picturesque Clovelly, with its cobbled streets and donkey transport, is close by or for a day out, the famous Eden Project is within easy reach, as are many other family attractions including The Big Sheep and The Milky Way Adventure Park. A cosmopolitan town, Totnes, 7 miles away, has a vast array of independent shops, weekly markets, galleries, leisure centre and many lovely restaurants, bistros and cafés. The seaside towns of Paignton and Torquay are 40 minutes’ drive, and it is just a 15-minute drive to the yachting haven of Dartmouth, and the coastline between Dartmouth and Kingsbridge, both 7 miles away, has many stunning beaches, hidden coves and fantastic coastal walks.

Guests of these cottages can also enjoy a range of on-site facilities suitable for all the family, including a heated indoor swimming pool (available via a booking system) with a private changing room and shower. There is a large games room set over two floors, including a fitness room with a cross trainer, treadmill, rowing machine and exercise bike. The top floor of the games room has a full-size American pool table, big sofa and Sky TV. The bottom floor has table tennis and table football. On-site there is also a laundry and ironing room. In addition to all the motorbike fun, a range of other activities can also be organised locally, including horse riding, golf, go-karting and trout and carp fishing. Also, clay pigeon shooting, air rifle and archery are available - these are run by a fully qualified instructor and all equipment is provided. The activities run on a Monday, Thursday and Sunday. The Tithe Barn, built in 1602, has character, charm, and has been decorated and furnished for today’s living. Comprising a lovely contemporary kitchen, with Rayburn and electric hob and oven, pine flooring and central island, and three spacious bedrooms, one with Juliet balcony. Guests have use of a full hard tennis court, by prior arrangement only, and have a lovely private enclosed garden with table and chairs, ideal for al fresco dining.

The Tithe Barn is 10 minutes from the city of Exeter, the University Exeter Campus, and the world famous 13th-century catherdral. Tithe Barn is ideal for visiting Killerton House, which has a glorious landscaped garden which is surrounded by parkland, a fine 18th-century house with renowned historical fashion collections, with wide open parkland, a garden full of trees from around the globe and classic woodland. Try the 6 walks around the estate, where you might even spot some deer grazing. There are also many rural walks around Huxham without the need to get into your car.

With Dartmoor within easy reach, the popular south coast nearby and the rural countryside of East Devon on the doorstep, The Tithe Barn makes an ideal base for exploring some of Devon’s finest scenery. From sleepy market towns to the miles and miles of coastline, which is much loved by surfers, swimmers, families and even walkers from all over the world, a trip to this special place will stay with you forever. There are many places to visit, in addition to Exeter’s famous 13th-century cathedral, there is also the Royal Albert Memorial Museum and. Exeter’s Historic Quayside provides a lovely atmosphere in which to relax and stroll around. Castle Hill House is accessed by a private drive and set in an elevated position above the historic village of Sidbury, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This distinguished and imposing country house is set in delightful gardens within 4-acre private grounds and enjoys superb uninterrupted 270 degree views of the countryside and the valley down to Sidmouth and out to sea. There is a tennis court which is playable, just a little rough in places. Castle Hill House has been decorated and furnished to a very good standard and is perfect for a family holiday or a group of friends to get together.
The house is situated 3 miles from the World Heritage Jurassic Coastline town of Sidmouth, that nestles beneath majestic red cliffs and the green hills of the glorious Sid Valley. Sidmouth, with it’s beautiful gardens and leisurely walks, Regency history, clean sandy and pebble beaches, great restaurants and friendly shops, is also renowned for it’s annual International Folk Festival held in August. Villages of exceptional beauty lie on the doorstep: Beer, with its amazing pebble beach and caves, Branscombe perfect for mackerel fishing or the town of Seaton, with its historic tramway and exhibitions. Take a trip to the Donkey Sanctuary, visit the stunning gardens at Bicton, or for a great family day out, there is Crealy Adventure Park or Pecorama with it’s miniature railway. For the very adventurous, visit Haldon Hill and try zip wires through the trees at Go Ape, or take your bike and go cycling off road on the many countryside trails that there are on offer. Exeter and Newton Abbot racecourses are also close by. Horse riding, cycling and water sports are all available locally, or just sit and relax in your own castle on the hill. Beach 3 miles. With the River Exe, Devonshire Heartland, Somerset and the North Devon coastline on your doorstep, the properties are situated in an excellent countryside location offering a good base to explore the beautiful area and are within easy driving distance of Exmoor National Park and the Devon and Somerset border.

Golf, horse riding, cycling and fishing are available locally, along with clay pigeon shooting and fly fishing. Take a stroll next to the river in the 20 acre grounds. Alternatively, there are many delightful, scenic countryside walks nearby including the spectacular scenic coast between Minehead and Combe Martin. Tiverton, 7 miles, offers a selection of shops, restaurants and pubs as well as the famous Grand Western Canal and Bickleigh Castle.

The nearest coast with sandy beaches and family attractions including Somerset World and West Somerset scenic steam railway is at the seaside resort of Minehead. The medieval town of Dunster with its magnificent castle, deer park and mill, and the historic cathedral city of Exeter with its variety of shops, restaurants, theatres, racecourse and the Maritime Museum, are both 20 miles away. Delightful Bickleigh, 8 miles, has lovely, thatched inns overlooking the river, and serving good food and local ales - the perfect location to get away from it all.

Taunton, Ilfracombe, Sidmouth, Seaton and Exmouth are within easy driving distance. National Trust properties within easy reach include Knightshayes Court, Powderham Castle and Castle Drogo to name a few. Brampton is 2 miles away, and sailing is available at nearby Wimbleball Lake. Set in a rural location with stunning views of the surrounding countryside.This large, imposing, detached country house is the ideal place for a large family or group to come and stay whilst enjoying all that North Devon has to offer. The house has large living areas, a very well equipped kitchen with a quintessential Aga. There is a spacious dining room which is ideal for celebrating a special occasion, and well-furnished bedrooms, the majority of which have en-suite facilities, complete this charming house. Outside, there is the use of a private hot tub as well as a private swimming pool. There is a large well tended garden with plenty of space and sitting out areas for all to enjoy and a play area for small children. Located just outside the village of Beaford, there is also a local pub within walking distance.
North Devon has plenty to see and do, and is home to some of the best beaches in the country including Woolacombe and Saunton. The nearest beach is at Instow and is ideal for children or just a great place to walk off life’s stresses, and then enjoy a meal or drink at one of the pubs and restaurants along the front. The town of Great Torrington is only a short drive away and has most amenities you may require. The larger regional town of Barnstaple has a busy high street, the Pannier Market and famous Butchers Row. There are numerous places of interest close by including the RHS gardens at Rosemoor, Dartington Crystal and the historic fishing village at Clovelly. For the younger ones a visit to the Big Sheep or Milky Way Adventure Parks is a good option. There is walking on Dartmoor or hire a bike and cycle the Tarka Trail, and there is also golf and fishing available locally.
