It has been furnished throughout with characterful antiques and the highest quality linen. Guests also have use of the adjoining games barn and the tree house.
The location is idyllic and ever so peaceful, set in the middle of 80 acres of fields, woods and streams set between the National Park and National Trust land. The area is exceptionally rich in wildlife including buzzards, deer, otters (part of National England Otter Survey) and sky larks, as well as England’s largest collection of bog myrtle. The location is perfect for walking or cycling on Dartmoor, visiting numerous beaches or National Trust properties. Once the guardian of the entrance to the manor house, Warleigh Lodge is an attractive stone, detached holiday cottage of Gothic style architecture, with superb countryside views across the River Tamar to Cornwall in the distance beyond. The lodge has a large garden with lawn and small woodland copse. Light usage Wi-Fi is included but streaming is unavailable. Close to the village of Tamerton Foliot, a suburb of Plymouth, it is in a quiet location surrounded by open country, and could hardly be better placed for access to the many varied attractions of the surrounding area. Dartmoor (15 minutes’ drive), home of Dartmoor Prison, and the ’Hound of the Baskervilles’, its many tors, moors and the well known and loved Dartmoor ponies roaming the high moorland; or travel towards the coastline and explore the many coves and sandy beaches of both south Devon and across the bridge into Cornwall. Many beaches to choose from are less than half an hour’s drive away. Plymouth and the waterfront region (20 minutes’ drive to the city centre) is a fascinating mixture of bustling modern city, with a shopping mall with all the high street brands, and maritime history. Visit the Hoe with Smeaton’s Tower and superb views of the bay across to Cornwall. The historic Barbican area is worth a visit with its cobbled streets, national marine aquarium, Plymouth Gin Distillery, harbour with fishing boats, antique shops and individual boutiques. The Orchard is a well presented spacious bungalow with enviable views over the River Torridge which flows past Bideford joining the Taw Estuary at Instow and out into the Atlantic. The property is accessed via a steep driveway which has ample space for several cars (in a row). Access to the bungalow is either via the steps or convenient ramp leading down to the front door and garden. Inside the accommodation is all on one level and comprises three bedrooms, 2 super kings with zip & link beds (one with an additional 2’6 pull out single and a king size. The main bedroom has an en-suite shower room and lovely river and town views and there’s a family bathroom with a bath and shower cubicle. Although set within the beautiful area of the South Hams, the towns of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham, which make up the renowned ’English Riviera’, are just a short drive away. As you enter the property you find yourself in the entrance hallway. To your left is a superking sized bedroom and to your right is the bright and airy living/dining room. The door to the fully equipped kitchen is also on your left with French doors leading out into the enclosed rear garden, boasting projector screen and hot tub. Perfect for relaxing after a long day at the beach! There is also a bathroom located on the ground floor with full sized bath and separate shower enclosure. Whether wanting to experience Paignton itself or explore further afield such as Torquay and Brixham, making up the beautiful English Riviera, Paignton place is a fantastic place to start. Not to mention surrounding areas such as Kingswear, Dartmouth, Teignmouth and the local city of Exeter.

Set in the heart of the beautiful East Devon countryside between the coastal resorts of Sidmouth and Budleigh Salterton, Thorntree Cottage offers a relaxing break with the sea, moors and Jurassic coastline within easy reach.
This two-bedroom single storey cottage can comfortably accommodate up to six guests and forms part of a unique courtyard development of converted farm buildings with use of extensive communal gardens and its own private and enclosed south-facing garden. From here you can walk through the extensive communal gardens across fields to the River Otter.
Upon entering the holiday home, you will be welcomed into the open plan kitchen, living and dining area which feels bright and spacious. The village of Colaton Raleigh has a great local shop and a fantastic pub called ‘The Otter’ which is just 200 yards away and it offers meals and a beer garden. Otterton is just one mile away with a church, shops, pub and the charming Otterton Mill and the coastal resorts of Budleigh Salterton and Sidmouth are 4 miles. Nearby, Exmouth has a two-mile sandy beach and offers excellent water sports facilities including sailing, power boating, water skiing, jet skiing, wake and paddle boarding, wind or kite surfing and canoeing. Coastal and estuary cruises operate from the dock and charter boats are available for fishing trips. From November to February, the Exe Estuary is home for some 20,000 migratory birds and the red sandstone cliffs of Orcombe Point at the eastern end of the beach are designated the gateway to the World Heritage Jurassic Coast.
The beautiful, pebbled heathlands of East Devon with extensive walks, abundant wildlife, rare plants, and splendid panoramic views are only a few minutes’ drive from the property and the Southwest coastal path is nearby. Keen hikers should head to Dartmoor National Park with is just a 30-minute drive away and the quintessential East Devon coastal towns and villages of Budleigh Salterton, Beer, Branscombe, Sidmouth and Seaton are within easy reach. You’ll struggle to fit everything into one visit to Thorntree Cottage and you will certainly want to stay time and time again!

South Pusehill Cottage is a very well-presented holiday property with character features such as exposed beams and bespoke furniture and design. Although slightly rural with far reaching countryside views, the cottage is perfectly located for all the attractions and stunning scenery that North Devon has to offer, and is around 1½ miles away from the nearest beach at Westward Ho!, which is popular with surfers as well as sunbathers.
