Four of the cottages enjoy access to a shared central glass atrium, providing an internal patio area. Children and adults alike can enjoy the owners’ collection of farmyard animals including goats, pigs, sheep, ponies, donkeys, and poultry. With a designated dog walk in the grounds, visitors’ pets are made to feel very welcome here too. Mappleton Sands are close by, ideal for summer picnics on the tranquil sandy beach or a cliff top stroll, and a 4-mile drive takes you to the seaside town of Hornsea with The Mere, a birdwatcher’s paradise and where boats can be hired for rowing and fishing. Here you are also within easy reach of the historic town of Beverley with its minster and renowned racecourse, and the award-winning aquarium ’The Deep’, in Hull city centre. Tickton Hall is a 110-acre private country estate nestled at the end of a tree-lined drive just outside the historical market town of Beverley. The estate has wonderful, established woodlands and parklands with grazing horses in abundance, which you can see from many of the cottages’ windows. It is also home to the Beverley Polo Club with two polo pitches, a fabulous full-size arena and stabling for up to 60 horses. You just might be able to catch a polo match during your stay! You can even bring your horse on holiday with you, subject to availability at our Horse Hotel! These delightful, detached holiday properties (refs UKC458 and W44279) provide tastefully furnished bases from which to explore the area, or simply sit back and relax.
There are superb walks straight from the cottage doors. Within the estate you can walk around the picturesque horse exercise course or the cross-country course, all within a couple of minutes of the cottages. Or if you are looking for a longer hike, the estate links to designated walks along the river bank that extend for miles.
Beverley, 4 miles, is well known for its racecourse, minster and many boutiques and excellent coffee shops. The coast at Hornsea can be reached within 10 miles, with traditional amusements and promenade, and a wildlife centre at Hornsea Mere. York, a great place for a day out, is about an hour’s drive, and The Deep at Hull, one of the UK’s biggest aquariums, is about half an hour away. Beach 10 miles. Shop ¾ mile, pub and restaurant ½ mile (¼ mile on foot).

Dragonfly Cottage is an end terrace property, within a few minutes walk of the centre of Beverley. Dating back to the 17th century and belonging to the church of St Mary, this lovely little cottage was once home to the local monks. This property is ideal for couples or friends wishing to enjoy this vibrant market town. The property promises a memorable stay with comfort throughout. The living room with its open fire and a comfortable sofa, will be the ideal place to sit and relax after a day of exploring. The large dining area flows into a galley style kitchen with a unique feature wooden wall. The modern kitchen provides all the appliances you could wish for and is a great space to cook either a hearty breakfast or a romantic evening meal. From the dining area are the stairs leading up to the first floor.
Do take a moment to check out the view of the Minster from the landing window. Here you will find two well-presented bedrooms offering both twin and kingsize double accommodation.
