Here you’ll find a couple of friendly pubs, fish and chip shops, tea rooms and well stocked convenience stores. Take a drive to Flamborough Lighthouse and watch the seals rest at low tide. The Flamborough Heritage Coastline offers miles of walking/cycling opportunities as well as the stunning RSPB Bempton Cliffs. Danes Dyke Nature Reserve is also worth a visit. For two sandy beaches, working harbour and Victorian Promenade take a trip down the coast to Bridlington. Burton Agnes Hall, Sledmere House and gardens and Sewerby Hall and garden are close by. The historic city of York is just an hour away and there is a choice of golf courses.

Fraisthorpe Beach is perfect for horse riding. The village of Brandesburton is home to a couple of pubs alongside several shops and restaurants. A short drive brings you to the pretty Wolds town of Beverley offering independent shops, cafés and restaurants. A day at Beverley Races or a round of golf at one of the many local golf courses are sure to keep everyone entertained. The seaside town of Hornsea is on the doorstep and with pony rides, ice-cream and fish and chips is a lovely family destination. With so much to do and see in the surrounding area including the RSPB reserve at Bempton Cliffs, the Nature Reserve at Spurn Point and various stately homes, you are guaranteed a holiday to remember.

Christine Cottage is perfect as a base for visiting the North York Moors National Park, the Yorkshire Wolds and the beautiful east coast. The cottage is tucked away in a quiet courtyard near the church in Flamborough, with the owner living just around the corner. This detached property is centrally located for the shops, bars and restaurants with the beach in walking distance. Flamborough Head lies between Bridlington and Filey and is a bird watchers paradise. Every year birds travel in their thousands to Flamborough and you will see the interesting array of seabirds that cling to the chalk cliffs. People travel from all over the world to see the wonderful puffins and the RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton Cliffs is the best place to get a good view, as they provide viewing platforms along the cliff side. Flamborough is a traditional fishing village and although some fishing still take place, it now relies on tourism. A lovely walk along the cliff tops brings you to Danes Dyke, a fantastic nature reserve.
The bustling harbour of Bridlington is only a 10-minute drive away and is still a busy fishing harbour. This traditional seaside resort offers donkey rides, a pirate ship and of course sandcastles and candy floss. Beach ¾ mile. Shop, pub and restaurant 300 yards.
