This part of the coastline is a haven for unusual birds and wildlife with Pagham Harbour Nature Reserve and Chichester Harbour a little further to the west, both being Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Pagham Harbour is an internationally important site for nature conservation while Chichester Harbour also combines its wildlife attractions with sailing centres such as Itchenor and Bosham.

    Just 6 miles north is Arundel, a historic market town dominated by its symbolic castle and the rising spire of the cathedral. It offers a plethora of craft and antique shops as well as restaurants and tea rooms. Arundel Castle is the seat of the Dukes of Norfolk and is set in 40 acres of sweeping grounds and gardens. The castle has been seasonally open to visitors for almost 200 years and is well worth a trip. All around this area the South Downs National Park offers a backdrop of stunning scenery and endless walking routes to explore.

    For a family day trip head over to Butlins in Bognor Regis with its brand new indoor and outdoor waterpark Splashworld and a range of entertainment and rides to keep the kids and grown-up kids happy.
