Based all on one level and including some outdoor space too, this property would make an ideal place for a getaway with stunning scenery surrounding the property yet being close enough to the city centre and plenty of public transport options for getting around.
Canterbury has so much to offer from the world famous Canterbury Cathedral, historic city walls, stunning walks along the rivers/canals and has plenty of great places to eat, drink and laugh! This place is literally brimming with history and has something for everyone, no matter your age. You can stroll along the stunning canal pathways through enchanted gardens and along the ancient city walls and ruins, or simply shop till you drop then go for a few cocktails and dinner!
Canterbury, a cathedral city in southeast England, was a pilgrimage site in the Middle Ages. Ancient walls, originally built by the Romans, encircle its medieval centre with cobbled streets and timber-framed houses. Canterbury Cathedral, founded in 597 AD, is the headquarters of the Church of England and Anglican Communion, incorporating Gothic and Romanesque elements in its stone carvings and stained-glass windows. Canterbury is only 6 miles from the beaches of Herne Bay and Whitstable a tiny bit further allows you to indulge yourself in the golden sandy beaches of Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate too! Canterbury has a great mixed selection of culinary cuisines to choose from to visit from the traditional old-style English pub to your Michelin star restaurants and everything else in between. Littlestone-on-Sea is a small coastal village close to New Romney in Kent. It was established in the 1880s by Sir Robert Perks as a resort for the gentry, at the point of the local lifeboat station. At low tide a World War II Mulberry Harbour Phoenix breakwater is visible along the coast; the caisson was unable to be re-floated as part of the post D-Day harbour construction in Normandy, so was abandoned. The nature of the Phoenix breakwaters meant they were constructed and sunk until needed (so as to be invisible to air attack); by design they would have had the water evacuated by Royal Engineers and then been towed to France where they would have become part of the harbour. Beach 1¾ miles.

Situated on the North Downs, Denmark House the perfect place to spend time with family and friends. The property has been a successful world class residential recording studio for many years, and now, after extensive renovations, we have now opened our doors for short term lettings. The studio is available on request, and we also have on-site an equestrian centre and café, where you can book riding lessons and hacks. On the ground floor, the main living area is a light, spacious and open plan living, kitchen and dining areas, with a large open fire place. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could need, including a 7-burner range cooker. The ground floor also contains a second iving room in the studio section, there are also two double bedrooms and a shower room with toliet. The first floor has its own open plan living space, three double and three single bedrooms and a shower room.
You’ll be located just outside the quiet village of Bluebell Hill, with stunning views and walks on your doorstop. There is a great pub down the road, and the village of Maidstone is just 10 minutes away by car. You can even be in London for a night out within 50 minutes. As we do have neighbours we do ask that you are in from the garden by 9.00pm and when outside you are mindful of your noise levels and language. The property is situated in land classed as SSSI (a Special Site of Scientific Interest), and you can enjoys miles and miles of fantastic walk and views.
The county town of Kent has excellent retail stores, pubs, clubs, coffee shops, cinemas and restaurants. Local areas of interest are Mote Park (set in 450 acres and includes woodlands and lakes), Leeds Castle, Chatham Historic Dockyard, Maidstone Museum and numerous golf courses. Nearby towns include Sevenoaks, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Rochester, West Malling, Folkestone, Dover and Whitstable. Brighton is only a 45-minute drive away! You are spoilt for choice if you want to go shopping, with the Bluewater shopping centre is a short 20-minute drive away, and Ashford Outlet Centre is 30-minutes away. Both are accessible by local public transport. If you wanted to go further afield and had your passport handy, you could be in Paris in 2 hours as Ebbsfleet and Ashford International Station are only 20 minutes’ drive away. Beach 19½ miles.

The Westgate train station is 200 yards away with mainline into London and Margate. Alternatively, a quick easy taxi or bus travel into Margate, just five minutes away or any of the surrounding towns in the area. The beautiful Westgate beach is just 7 minutes’ walk and if you want to wander there are beaches in both directions, Minnis Bay, Birchington to the left and Margate to the right as you face the sea. These days, Margate fizzes with artistic energy. To traditional, holiday-town charms, add a world-class art gallery. Margate’s Old Town rejoices in a funky vibe. Here chic eateries, galleries, vintage shops and chilled-out cafés rub shoulders with traditional seaside delights: candyfloss stands; fish and chip shops; seafood stalls. The reinvigorated Harbour Arm is home to stylish spots to eat and drink. Just five minutes from the Old Town you will find emporiums of everything antique, old fashioned and unusual at RG Scott’s Furniture Market and Junk Deluxe. For more than 100-years Margate’s Winter Gardens have drawn big-name acts, from the Beatles to the Kaiser Chiefs. The town’s Theatre Royal is the second oldest in the country, while the Tom Thumb Theatre is one of the smallest theatres in the world. August brings an explosion of colour and sound, as Margate’s vibrant, annual carnival procession snakes through the town over Margate Soul Weekend. Many vibrant pubs, cocktail bars, restaurants with indoor and outdoor space together with the Sundowners LGBT bar with it’s amazing sunset view terrace.
