Woodhall Spa (6 miles) offers the ’Kinema in the Woods’ - a unique cinema experience - the summer swimming lido, tennis and a championship golf course. Horncastle (10 miles) has varied vintage shops. Coningsby (9 miles) is home to the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. The city of Lincoln with medieval cathedral, castle and smart shopping is 15 miles. Newark is 25 miles and the east coast beaches are approximately 35 miles. Pub just under 1 mile away.

Set in the peaceful village of North Somercotes on the Lincolnshire coast between Mablethorpe and Cleethorpes, this detached bungalow, situated close to the owner’s home, offers an ideal location for a relaxing holiday or a comfortable base from which to explore the area. North Somercotes is one of the larger villages in the area and has several shops, takeaways, 2 pubs, a licensed restaurant, hairdressers and beauty facilities. North Somercotes is 15 miles south of Cleethorpes, a popular holiday resort including the theme park Pleasure Island, the Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway and other attractions. The village is only 8 miles from the Georgian town of Louth which still boasts 3 markets a week, with the very impressive St James Church, Hubbards Hills picnic area and beauty spot, as well as a cinema, leisure centre and many excellent restaurants and pubs. Mablethorpe, 11 miles, is only a short drive away and has sandy beaches along with all your normal seaside attractions including a fun fair and amusements. Grimsby has a Fishing Heritage Centre, as well as very good shopping facilities. Donna Nook Seal Sanctuary is within 2 miles and from late October to late December seals congregate to have their pups here (1798 pups in 2014). Seals are very close to the public viewing areas, making Donna Nook one of the most accessible sites for seeing seals breeding in the UK. It attracts 40,000 visitors a year. Good walks and cycle routes are straight from the door with fishing and golf courses all within a short drive. Situated across the road from the bowling green and only a short walk onto the seafront and the sandy beach, La Falda provides comfortable, detached accommodation for all the family. With the beach, shops, pubs, restaurants and takeaways all close by there is no need to use the car unless you want to. The area has a lot of activities for everyone, with the coastal resort of Mablethorpe close by and Sandilands golf course is less than 2 miles away. If you want to explore further along the coast, the busy traditional seaside resort of Skegness is 14 miles away, the market towns of Alford, 7 miles and Louth, 20 miles are all worth a day out. The Lincolnshire Wolds offer excellent walks and cycle routes with good country pubs to stop off in and enjoy refreshments, coarse fishing at Bratoft, (licence required), is 2 miles away and there is a good golf course within a short drive. Honeysuckle Cottage is a luxury barn conversion set on the edge of the pretty village of Oasby. It is part of the owner’s grass and arable farm and they have a great interest in wildlife and conservation. All visitors are welcome to access all the farm. It is an ideal base from which to explore the area. Numerous walks and cycle routes are close at hand and a lovely country pub, with fine real ales and delicious food, is only a 5-minute stroll away.

For those wishing to explore further afield, Stamford, Lincoln, Newark and Uppingham offer castles, museums, antique centres and numerous pubs and restaurants. Those interested in WWII can visit the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at Coningsby, and the newly completed Bomber Command at Lincoln.

There are numerous golf courses nearby including the National Golf centre at Woodhall Spa. Rutland Water offers various water sports throughout the year, and the circular track around the reservoir provides easy walking and cycling for all ages, with bikes available for hire. Oasby is also home to the British Eventing Oasby Horse Trials, which takes place twice a year on the farm, attracting world class riders to the event.

Shops are available 3 miles away, and there are several pubs in the locality offering a range of meals. The owners are happy for visitors to the cottage to bring their horses and/or ponies. We can provide grazing and plenty of maps for horse riding.

Anderby Creek has a café, beach shop and pub and is undoubtably one of the best destinations to be found along this stretch of coast in between the traditional seaside resorts of Skegness and Mablethorpe.
