For days out, visit the coast for miles of sandy beaches or head inland, 28 miles to the city of Lincoln, with its spectacular cathedral, castle, popular Bailgate area for shopping, restaurants and bars. Or head down Steep Hill to the Brayford Waterside where you can watch the boats cruise by. After a day exploring you can cosy up in front of the wood burner or relax on the large terrace and enjoy the peace and quiet, with very little light pollution its great for the star gazers among you. Attractions in the area include, Cadwell park race track, Market Rasen Horse racing, Woodhall Spa gold as well as home of the dam busters, Horncastle, antique centre of Lincolnshire and Spilsby Sir John Franklins birth place. Honeysuckle Cottage is a luxury barn conversion set on the edge of the pretty village of Oasby. It is part of the owner’s grass and arable farm and they have a great interest in wildlife and conservation. All visitors are welcome to access all the farm. It is an ideal base from which to explore the area. Numerous walks and cycle routes are close at hand and a lovely country pub, with fine real ales and delicious food, is only a 5-minute stroll away.

For those wishing to explore further afield, Stamford, Lincoln, Newark and Uppingham offer castles, museums, antique centres and numerous pubs and restaurants. Those interested in WWII can visit the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at Coningsby, and the newly completed Bomber Command at Lincoln.

Gibraltar Point nature reserve is approximately a 30-minute drive away to the south of Skegness, and inland there are the market towns of Alford, Louth and Horncastle to explore. Furthermore, enjoy a day out on the coast visiting the traditional seaside resort of Mablethorpe, travel inland to explore the Lincolnshire Wolds or enjoy some motor racing at Cadwell Park. Lincoln makes a great day out with its cathedral, castle and Magna Carta visitor centre. Shop, pub and restaurant all within 1 mile.

There are good walks and cycle routes from the door, with the coast approximately a 10-minute drive away. The traditional seaside resort of Skegness is 9 miles away, with plenty of entertainment for everyone including the Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve. During the winter months, visit the seal pups at Donna Nook. The market town of Alford is a 10-minute drive, whilst the Georgian market town of Louth, which still has 3 markets a week, is about half an hour by car and is always worth a visit with its many shops, local butchers and very good selection of cafés and pubs.
