Coningsby (9 miles) is home to the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. The city of Lincoln with medieval cathedral, castle and smart shopping is 15 miles. The delightful, detached Rectory Cottage stands in the grounds of Blankney’s former rectory. It enjoys a secluded position within its own enclosed garden. Enjoy a day exploring nearby Lincoln, famous for its magnificent cathedral, castle, and the Magna Carta Visitor Centre. Visit the Bailgate area in the heart of Lincoln’s historic quarter and discover a world of specialist shops including boutiques, crafts, book, and gift shops, not to mention tea rooms and restaurants that line the cobbled streets. The neighbouring village, with its pub and restaurant is just 1½ miles away, and Blankney Golf Club, an 18-hole golf course, is under ½ mile.
Rectory Cottage has been renovated to a high standard of comfort, with two bathrooms on the first floor, one of which is en-suite. Relax in front of the cosy wood burner with a good book or enjoy the view of the mature garden from the conservatory or have a soak in the hot tub - there is plenty of space for everyone. A network of footpaths, offering country walks, is easily accessible and the area offers great cycle routes. Shops and pub/restaurants 1½ miles.

Set to the rear of the owner’s home, with views over open fields to the side, in a peaceful location yet only a short distance of the popular seaside resort of Skegness, lie Ashington Holiday Cottages (refs 29130, 29131 and UKC2370). They provide well-appointed, comfortable, detached accommodation. The traditional holiday resort of Skegness is well known for its sandy beaches, seal sanctuary, Gibraltor Point Nature Reserve and fun fair. There are two excellent 18-hole links golf courses nearby at North Shore and Seacroft, with fishing lakes throughout the area one of which is just ½ mile away. The region offers good walking and cycle routes, with the Lincolnshire Wolds and the market towns of Louth and Alford nearby. Horncastle, best known for its numerous antique shops, is about 25 minutes’ drive. Shop and pub serving food 1 mile.

Each lodge has its own private hot tub positioned on the decked veranda overlooking the fishing lakes, which are all well stocked with mature carp up to 20lbs, barble up to 11lbs and bream up to 7lbs, as well as crucian carp, chub, tench, ide, rudd, roach and perch. For those that don’t want to fish, there is plenty to see and do in the area. Attractions in the area include the Lincolnshire Wolds, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at Coningsby or Horncastle, a 30-minute drive, which is famous for its many antique and collectables shops. Visit Fantasy Island at Ingoldmells. Lincoln Cathedral, where ’The Da Vinci Code’ was filmed with Tom Hanks, is about an hour’s drive and there are many excellent walks and cycle routes throughout the area. Beach 5 miles.
