The Granary provides a very good standard of accommodation in the pretty and peaceful village of Aisby. Situated near the end of a no through road, this renovated detached cottage has its own private walled garden with a gated entrance, and is suitable for couples, friends and families alike. Numerous walks and cycle routes are close at hand, and a lovely country pub, with beams, log fires, fine real ales and delicious food, is only a 15-minute stroll away. For those wishing to explore further afield, Stamford, Lincoln, Newark, Oakham and Uppingham offer NT houses, castles, museums, antique centres, and numerous pubs and restaurants. Those interested in WW2 can visit the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, and the Lincolnshire Aviation Centre, which are a few miles east of the market town of Sleaford. There are also numerous golf courses nearby including the National Golf Centre at Woodhall Spa, and Rutland Water offers various water sports throughout the year, the circular track around the reservoir provides easy walking and cycling for all ages with bikes available for hire. Whether you are looking for a base to explore this area of the east coast from or simply somewhere to get away from it all and relax in the hot tub, then Kingfisher Cottage is ideal. Set close to the River Steeping, at the edge of the owners’ 80-acre arable farm, which guests are free to explore, there is the bonus of free river fishing within the grounds (license required). There is a shared tennis court as well to enjoy.
On the fringe of Wainfleet All Saints, and within a short walk, is a brewery which offers tours, an on-site pub and a bistro. Wainfleet All Saints is a quaint market town with an array of shops, pubs, restaurants and a railway station. The traditional seaside resort of Skegness is just 5 miles away with its lovely sandy beach and family entertainment, including the Fantasy Island Theme Park. The National Trust properties of Gunby Hall and Tattershall Castle are within easy driving distance. Visit bird and seal sanctuaries along the coast, or take a trip to medieval Lincoln, with its famous castle and cathedral, just 40 miles away, across the scenic, rolling Lincolnshire Wolds countryside. Sheepgate Equestrian Centre is 2 miles away, where National Dressage competitions are held. The local RSPB reserve at Freiston Shore is 5 miles away, whilst Leverton village to the south has a café, supermarket and pub.
