Donna Nook seal breeding grounds are very popular to visit, with around 200 seal pups born each year, and you will also sometimes see them at Sutton on Sea just offshore or even sunbathing on the beach.
Inland are the market towns of Alford, about a 10-minute drive, and Louth, about 30 minutes’ drive, both with a range of shops and regular markets. Louth is well known for its range of small food shops selling local produce as well as three markets a week, the perfect shopping experience for the designated chef to show off their talent. Good walks and cycle routes throughout the area with miles of unspoilt sandy beaches to stroll along. Shops, pub, restaurant and beach 1.4 miles.

Sandilands has always been a popular destination for family holidays for many generations and is still largely as it was many years ago. Miles of sandy beaches and colourful beach huts await you and Summer House is only 200 yds from the seafront. Nearby Sutton on Sea and Mablethorpe can we walked to down the sea wall or catch a bus from nearby.
For family days out the seaside resort of Skegness offers all the fun of the fair plus amusements, an aquarium, and cinema. Butlins and Fantasy Island also offer opportunity for family days out or simply stay at home and enjoy the delights of the beach with a shop, pub, and cafe 150 yds away close to the seafront.

There is something for everyone to enjoy in the area; catch the bus to Fantasy island, Butlins or into the seaside resort of Skegness with its funfair, amusements, seal sanctuary, aquarium and Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve. Or travel in the other direction to Chapel St Leonards with its shops and amusements, Seascape Café where you watch the sun rise and set, Anderby Creek, as well as Sutton on Sea and Mablethorpe all along the coast to the north. There are good walks and cycle routes from the door and you can return in the evenings to the luxury and comfort of Sycamore Lodge to relax in front of your tv, or sit back in the garden and gaze at the rolling hills of the Lincolnshire Wolds in the distance.
