Bolton Abbey is just a short drive away offering plenty of walking within the magnificent 30,000-acre grounds and picture-perfect picnic spots beside the river. The charming market town of Skipton also known as the ‘gateway to the dales’, is also 10 minutes away which is home to an ancient castle, cobbled high street and colourful street market. It has an open plan living area with a welcoming wood burner to snuggle up in front of after a busy day out exploring the spectacular Yorkshire coast and countryside, and upon arrival you will find a lovely welcome pack with tea and coffee. There are lovely views from the property onto the garden and the beck which runs alongside the cottage.

The picturesque village of Thornton le Dale is located on the edge of the North York Moors, a mere one mile from Pickering. From here you can take a ride on the famous steam train to Grosmont, Goathland (aka Aidensfield in the classic TV series Heartbeat) and the seaside town of Whitby where you can climb the 199 steps to Whitby Abbey. Those looking for a quieter pace of life may prefer to walk the many footpaths and bridleways over the North York Moors.
