    The surrounding North York Moors National Park is full of moorland and woodland trails as well as the wonderful heritage steam railway, the steam train leaves Whitby and travels over the moors towards the market town of Pickering, with other picturesque villages along the way. There is an array of seaside towns and villages along the coast to visit, with breathtaking beaches and coves. For younger family members, and within an hour’s drive, you have Flamingoland theme park and zoo, the Sea Life Centre, Alpamare Water Park and Go Ape tree top ziplining in Dalby Forest.
