    Highbury Farm Cottage is a pretty estate cottage on a working farm in the village of Duggleby on the southern side of the Great Wold Valley within the stunning Yorkshire Wolds and close to popular market town of Malton. This delightful cottage is perfect for two couples or a family of four and its right next to the main farm house and is surrounded by a large traditional courtyard of stables, home to the owners horses. You can even bring your own horses with you on holiday (additional charges apply).
    It is the perfect place to come back to after a day of exploring. Step inside straight into the kitchen/dining room and you can feel the history of the cottage. The kitchen provides all the culinary amenities you need to cook for your fellow travel companions and the dining table provides seating for four. The living room has a lovely open fire; great for snuggling up to on an evening during the cooler winter months. A downstairs toilet is tucked away to the rear of the property. The first floor has two beautiful boutique style bedrooms, offering both twin and double accommodation. Decorated in soft tones and with luxury soft furnishing these rooms are sure to delight. The house bathroom offers a bath with shower over. The bedrooms are interconnecting however the double room has it’s own private staircase leading down to the kitchen.     Highbury Farm Cottage is close to Duggleby Howe, an ancient burial ground and Wharram Percy a deserted medieval village. Within a short drive is the popular market town of Malton, known as the ’foodie captial’ of Yorkshire. Here you will find a plethora of independent shops, tea rooms and restaurants. The stately homes of Sledmere Hall and Castle Howard are also within a short drive. With miles of footpaths and bridleways to explore, makes this area a mecca for walkers and cyclists alike.

Spend a day exploring the house and before sampling some of the cakes on offer from one of the tea rooms. The Christmas experience is also one of the very best in the country. There are other stately homes within a short distance of the property, including Duncombe Park and Nunnington Hall. Don’t forget the stunning gardens at Helmsley too.
    This area is a fantastic base for both cyclists and walkers, with a large network of footpaths and country lanes. The famous market towns of Malton and Helmsley are within a few minutes’ drive and offer market days around their cobbled squares as well as a great array of shops, cafés and restaurants. Thornton-le-Dale is a picture perfect little village built around a little stream, ideal for a memorable day out. Less than 10 miles away is Pickering, nestled on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, where you can ride the heritage steam train across the beautiful moorland to the coastal town of Whitby.
