The coast is just a short walk from your doorstep where you can enjoy over 1½ miles of golden sands, including a designated dog walking area. You can also enjoy donkey rides or just take a stroll with an ice cream whilst enjoying fantastic views out to sea and across to the abbey, made famous by Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Head into the town centre where you will find plenty of quaint shops selling all sorts of curiosities from Whitby Jet jewellery to Gothic clothing. Whitby has a hugely popular food and drink scene with many bistros and café bars, as well as traditional fish and chip shops and tea rooms. There are many pubs and bars that offer a warm welcome to dogs and humans alike, as well as the many festivals and events that take place in the town such as the bi-annual Goth Weekender, Steam Punk weekends and the famous folk week.

Venture just a little further out of town for a game of golf or explore some of the hidden gems to be found all along the coast. Take a visit to Robin Hoods Bay, which can be accessed along the Cinder track and Cleveland Way, or any number of bays and coves along this magnificent coastline including Staithes, Runswick Bay and Saltburn. For a complete contrast, you can head inland and take in the breathtaking scenery of the North York Moors National Park. For a different kind of day you can take a steam train from Whitby into Goathland, also known as Aidensfield in the popular Heartbeat TV series. With so much to see and do on your doorstep you may need more than one visit. This homely, semi-detached bungalow is perfect for that well-needed family holiday. The property is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac, in the village of Hunmanby, and just 3 miles from the traditional seaside resort of Filey. There is an enclosed lawned garden to the rear of the property, making it ideal for small children or pets. There’s also a small open garden to the front of the property.
There are a whole host of amenities within walking distance including a post office, shops and local pubs. The seaside resorts of Filey, Scarborough and Bridlington are all just a short drive away. Filey is the smallest of the three resorts, and is a very traditional seaside resort with a wonderful large sandy beach. Scarborough and Bridlington are much larger resorts with lots of amenities to keep the family entertained. Scarborough also has two wonderful bays with a long sweeping promenade which stretches for over 3 miles, perfect for a leisurely stroll along the seafront. To the north of the bays you will find the Sealife Centre and Alpamare Water Park, both exciting visits for children. Peasholm Park with its stunning gardens and large lake where you can hire pedalos and rowing boats is also close by. The park is also home to the world famous Naval Warfare Battle, a miniature sea battle that is re-enacted with model warships and has entertained many children over the years. The market towns of Pickering, Malton, Driffield and Beverley are also worth visiting during your stay. Each have busy market days as well as lots of little independent shops and cafés. This little bungalow is the perfect spot to enjoy all that Yorkshire has to offer. Beach 2½ miles. Shop, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

This lovely detached lodge is situated on the popular holiday park “The Bay” and is close to the seaside resort of Filey. Sandy Bay Beach House benefits from having two comfortable bedrooms each with their own en-suite. It is decorated and furnished to a good standard, and outside there is a private parking space as well as AN outdoor seating area.

The Bay attracts lots of regular guests who enjoy the benefits of the site with an indoor swimming pool, gym, sauna and tennis courts as well as lots of daily activities held throughout the summer months that are sure to keep children entertained, from face painting and mini discos to archery (a small charge is applicable, to be paid directly to The Bay).

There’s a popular pub on-site that serves food, as well as a café style bistro. A leisurely walk takes you directly to the beach, which is over 4 miles long and stretching all the way to Filey. The beach is sandy and flat with lots of space for the children to enjoy making sandcastles and playing, great for the dog too!

Filey is the nearest town and has a large supermarket as well as shops, restaurants and bars. It is still a very traditional resort with donkeys, fresh seafood stalls and an historic promenade. Scarborough and Bridlington are both within a short drive, both larger and busier than Filey and with plenty of attractions to visit, including leisure centres, waterparks, theatres, a SeaLife Centre and lots more.

The RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton Cliffs is just a short drive away, where you can spot thousands of migrating seabirds from the viewing points along the clifftops. The ever popular puffins attract overseas visitors, and in the spring and summer months you can catch the puffin boat ‘The Yorkshire Belle’ and sail to the foot of the cliffs to get a close up view of the birds, a fantastic opportunity for nature lovers. A luxury barn conversion makes a great base to visit the Yorkshire coast, North York Moors National Park, Dolby Forest, the Yorkshire Wolds, Cleveland Way and nearby popular Market Towns. The owner has created a well equipped holiday ‘home’ with very high standard décor and furnishings. It is situated in the pretty village of Seamer, just 4 miles from the seaside town of Scarborough. The village has local pubs that serve traditional pub food and fine dining. There’s a small supermarket and post office as well as a fish and chip shop, all within walking distance. Lovely garden centre approx 1 mile.
Aysgarth Lodge has a large, enclosed garden, perfect for the dog or the children. There is a lawned area as well as patio with a wonderful hot tub to relax in after a busy day visiting the coast. The open plan kitchen/living area has a contemporary feel and features a cosy wood burner in the corner.
There are plenty of beaches to choose from Scarborough North and South Bays, Cayton Bay, Filey, Hunmanby, Reightons and slightly further Flamborough, Bridlington, Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay. Visit Scarborough’s historic Castle, Rotunda Museum, Sealife Centre or Peasholm Park. For those of you who enjoy bird watching there’s the RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton Cliffs where you can view thousands of migrating seabirds from the cliff top viewing points. People travel from all over to watch the comical puffins. The cyclists amongst you can enjoy some of the routes from the Tour de Yorkshire, as well as the wonderful Dalby Forest, home to miles and miles of mountain bike tracks. With over 8,000 acres of woodland pathways there’s plenty of woodland walks to enjoy, as well as the Cleveland Way. Aysgarth Lodge provides an excellent base to enjoy a golf tour of the North East Coast or play in the historic Scarborough golf week.
Yorkshire is famous for its market towns, Pickering, Malton, Beverley and Driffield are all a short drive from Aysgarth Lodge. In the village you will find a supermarket, post office, traditional pub, bistro pub, fish and chip shop and a church 100-400 yards. There is a garden centre. 10-15 minute flat walk which has a lovely café. Supermarket and fast food outlets within a 5 minute drive, all in the same place. You should not be disappointed with your stay as there’s something for all age groups and tastes. Beach 4½ miles. Shop 250 yards, pub and restaurant 200 yards.

Aptly named ‘Sea Views Three - 38’, this gorgeous holiday cottage resides within a peaceful cul-de-sac on the dramatic headland of Knipe Point, just to the south of the historic coastal town of Scarborough. This is the ideal location for exploring the dramatic Yorkshire Coastline, and only a short stroll away from the beach following the steps down from the cliff top. The Cleveland Way passes by the doorstep, taking you along the coast and then inland into the North Yorkshire Moors National Park.
The Yorkshire coastline draws guests back year after year, with welcoming locals, fresh local seafood, a fascinating seafaring history as well as many picturesque views. Here at Sea Views Three - 38 you can enjoy the scenery from the comfort of the living room, with glass patio doors making the most of the views. The living room has two large three seater sofas and a wide screen TV. This is open plan with the dining area, with its extending table, perfect for entertaining over a bottle of wine. The owners have provided lots of additional extras to make your stay more comfortable, including plenty of books to choose from. The modern kitchen is generously equipped, ready to create all of your favourite meals. Set all on the ground floor, here are two good sized bedrooms, comprising a kingsize and a double, as well as a bathroom with a shower over the bath.
Outside is a second side garden, with another patio area. There is also a hose for cleaning walking boots as well as bikes, plus a shed with sun loungers and other beach equipment for you to use. Nearby there is much to see and do, including beautiful bays and beaches, such as Filey with over 5 miles of golden sand. There are local surf schools, where you can have lessons or hire surf and paddle boards. Visit Scarborough with its Sea life centre, open air theatre, Peasolm Park with oriental gardens and paddle boats, and Alpamare Water Park and Spa. For nature lovers you have Bempton Cliffs RSPB bird centre, with nesting puffins and gannets.
Flamborough Head is beautiful with dramatic white cliffs, seals and an iconic lighthouse. The stately homes of Sewerby Hall or Castle Howard are ideal for a day out, or you can explore the nearby North Yorkshire Moors National Park. The nearby village of Thornton Le Dale is a great spot to start your national park adventure, where you can enjoy an ice cream as you take in the scenery venturing out on one of the many walking trails onto the moors.
