    West Ayton is a pretty village in the North York Moors National Park, with a couple of pubs serving meals as well as the convenience of a shop and garage. There are many beautiful places to visit for a day out nearby including the picture perfect village of Thornton-le-Dale, with little cafés, a chocolatier and a bakery beside a little stream, as well as the ancient market town of Pickering where you can board the North York Moors steam train.
