Woodfarm Barns and Barges in Suffolk & Tuscany

Corton lies just north of Lowestoft, the most easterly point of the UK. Beachwood is set amongst a secluded woodland setting and has frontline sea views. It is also considered to be the one with the most private, quiet and secluded settings. The photographs of the interiors speak for themselves. The kitchen is well equipped according to our many extremely satisfied guests to date. Tea coffee and milk is provided so guests don’t arrive late and find they can’t make a hot drink. The huge decking stretches to the cliff edge with views onto the award-winning beach. Stunning sunrises each morning which, should you so wish, can be watched while you relax in the hot tub! At night it lights up via a button. String lights have now been installed which are on a timer, which creates a wonderful evening ambience. The beach is never busy which makes for relaxing walks in both summer and winter and is accessed via a lovely short walk through the woods. It is also a dog friendly beach year-round. There are no shops or plastic swings and slides at Ocean Glade. It is very peaceful, and the grounds are beautifully maintained. There is a pub a 10-minute walk into the centre of the village which serves food, plus a small shop which also sells newspapers and a Chinese takeaway that only takes cash. There is a shopping complex a few minutes’ drive away with plenty of free parking.
Beachwood is ideally located to explore both Suffolk and Norfolk. Visit the Norfolk Broads National Park, with its southern gateway, Oulton Broad, just a short drive away, with good restaurants and a wine bar. Lowestoft is an old-fashioned traditional town offering shopping, beaches, two piers with family entertainment and restaurants. The popular town of Southwold is about a 35-minute drive away. There is so much to do and see in the area and you would be advised to google your preferences for details etc. Far too much to write here!

This semi-detached cottage comes fully equipped with a private hot tub. Surrounded by the undulating Suffolk hills, this is a truly special property. With the property all on one level, it’s ideal for wheelchair access too. As well as enjoying your own privacy, with a private entrance, garden and patio area, guests can also take full advantage of the farm’s features, like visiting the goats, sheep, horses and cattle. The Old Stables has its own enclosed garden, and its own private hot tub, with delightful open countryside views and has been well-furnished to provide a perfect holiday home at any time of year. Burfields Barn has en-suite bathrooms to all bedrooms, a wealth of exposed beams and the wood burner in the open-plan living/dining room/kitchen ensures a warm welcome all year round. Burfields Barn also benefits from a private indoor heated pool and games room. Outside, there is a large enclosed courtyard for al fresco dining and shared use of 7-acres of grounds for guests to enjoy. Catering is also available by prior arrangement with the owner.

The properties provide an excellent base for walking, cycling or bird watching, but are conveniently situated to explore the delightful market towns and villages of Suffolk. Stowmarket, 10 miles, is home to the Museum of East Anglian Life, has a wide range of shops and restaurants and direct train links to London Liverpool Street Station. Bury St Edmunds with its cathedral, abbey grounds and Georgian theatre, the market town of Diss and the county towns of Ipswich, Norwich and Colchester are all within easy reach. Slightly further afield are the unspoilt delights of the Suffolk Heritage Coast, including Aldeburgh, Dunwich, Walberswick, Southwold and the ancient burial ground at Sutton Hoo (National Trust).
