Just 4 miles away you’ll find Oulton Broad, the gateway to the Broads National Park, offering year-round watersports, day boat hire, cafés, riverside restaurants and bars. For great shopping and culture take a 50-minute drive to the city of Norwich, one of the UK’s top shopping destinations, with its stunning castle, museum, cathedral and an abundance of bars and restaurants. John Fanner Barn is one of three properties situated within the grounds of Yaxley Manor House. This spacious two storey timber-framed barn is filled with character throughout. There is a large, central reception room with galleried landing bedroom which continues to a king size bedroom. John Fanner Barn has a traditional finish and also has shared use of the grounds. Ideally located only half a mile away from the local pub and approximately fifteen minutes to the historic market town of Diss, five minutes to Eye and approximately half an hour to Norwich City centre this location is a great base. Take the time to visit the picturesque town of Bury St Edmunds with its famous abbey and great places to eat, drink and shop. The town also hosts a popular Christmas market in early December. National Trust properties nearby include Ickworth Park, Oxburgh Hall and Anglesey Abbey and Gardens. Newmarket is perfect for an exciting day at the races. A visit to Southwold wouldn’t be complete without heading off to the pier; dating back to the 1900’s, this was originally built as a landing point for the steamships which use to stop off at the town. You can also visit the lighthouse - this is a distinctive landmark at the centre of the town and has been guiding vessels into the historical harbour since the late 1800’s. A great location for nature lovers and twitchers, just a 25-minute drive to RSPB Minsmere where you can discover some of the UK’s rarest wildlife and enjoy family-friendly activities.
