The area is perfect for cyclists and walkers to explore the countryside and wildlife. Guests who enjoy water sports can visit the Alton Water Visitor Centre where you will also find a children’s play area, mini golf, café and picnic site. Guests are welcome to bring 2 dogs and the owner thoughtfully provides a a welcome basket, dog beds and a purpose built outdoor kennel with an indoor area so they can be left in a comfortable environment.
For those wanting to venture in to the local town of Ipswich, there are plenty of historic sites to see, or simply shop and stop for a coffee and watch the world go by. The beach is approximately 13 miles from the property and is ideal for a family day out. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

Privately set within the owners’ 54-acre grounds. The attractive town of Diss is just a 2.5-mile drive, or just a mile by using a footpath, and offers plenty of cafés, local pubs, shops, supermarkets, sporting, and social clubs including an 18-hole golf course. Even has a mainline railway station, so you can leave the car behind and jump on the train to visit Norwich City, and Liverpool Street, Central London.
The pod is fully equipped with a comfy double bed, fresh bedding and towels which are left for your arrival. In the living area, there is a sofa bed for an additional two guests (please note the pod sizing is suited more to a small family or two adults). A modern shower room complete with toilet and hand basin. The compact kitchen has everything you need to prepare your meals. Outside is your very own ’tree sofa’ private seating area with a fire pit and barbecue.

Explore the town centre filled with shops, cafes, and restaurants, or stop and sample the local Colchester ale, as you absorb this cosmopolitan town. Many nearby attractions include Dedham Vale and Constable Country with Flatford Mill and Sir Alfred Munning’s house.

A perfect getaway location for a couple, Chick Hatch Barn is a beautifully restored barn nestling deep in the Suffolk countryside. A cosy beamed living area with a wood burner opens out onto the patio from where there are sweeping views over the fields. Sympathetically renovated, and standing detached, it lies on the owners’ working sheep and beef farm, close to the historic market towns of Framlingham and Saxmundham, and offers a great holiday base from which to enjoy good cycling and walking. The Suffolk Heritage Coast is close by and Aldeburgh, Thorpeness and Southwold are all within easy reach. The RSPB reserve at Minsmere is a very popular stop along the coast, along with Dunwich, ‘The Lost City’, which was lost to the sea, and whose ruins are visible from the shoreline. Beach 10 miles. This delightful cluster of converted barns can be found deep in the Suffolk countryside, set in 80 acres of grazing meadows on the owner’s working beef farm where the owner lives. The Old Dairy (ref UKC3169) is also part of a barn conversion ideal for a couple or small family. The Old Corn Mill (ref UKC3170) is another semi-detached barn conversion and has a large communal seating area, ideal if all properties are booked together, accommodating up to 16 guests.

Whilst offering holiday makers a cosy and comfortable stay, these 18th-century barns have retained much of their charm and character, and share use of an indoor heated pool which can be booked for private sessions, and is open from Easter to September (please bring your own towels). Set in the village of Kettleburgh, Red Barn Cottage is very close to the beautiful market town of Framlingham. Mentioned in the Doomsday Book, its 12th-century castle still stands, and visitors can walk the curtain wall and enjoy the fantastic views. A great family day out is Easton Farm Park, 2 miles, with plenty of family fun, including animal petting, indoor soft play and many more activities. It is also host to the Maverick Festival, held during early July, for the finest Americana music festival.
The Suffolk Heritage Coast is easily accessible by car, where you can visit Southwold, Aldeburgh and England’s most easterly point, Lowestoft. Suffolk is a walkers and cyclists, paradise with winding roads, chocolate box villages and stunning landscape. Sea and river fishing can be found within 10 miles.
