The tastefully decorated and comfortable cottage is single storey with patio doors from the living room and bedroom leading onto the garden and patio area. There are many public footpaths leading from the village to explore the surrounding fields and woodland. The beautiful city of Bath has numerous famous attractions, including the Roman Baths and Pump Rooms, The Assembly Rooms and the award-winning Thermae Bath Spa. Many cultural festivals take place throughout the year. Shops, services and take-aways within 1 mile as well as excellent pubs and restaurants within a radius of 3 miles.

Visit the highest coast in Britain, Dunkery Beacon with panoramic views, and Minehead with its pretty harbour.

Sweet Briar Cottage is situated in the small Village of Holford, a lovely picturesque village on the edge of the Quantocks, about 14 miles from Bridgwater. This semi-detached holiday cottage is in the perfect location for all year round breaks - having a woodburner in the living room makes it perfect for cosy evenings in. There are many walks from the cottage, and from the bridge, guests can see two streams converging, one of which has flowed from Holford Combe and the other from Hodders Combe. It was in this glen that the Huguenots settled and began their silk weaving factory. Holford Glen was also used during the filming of the film ’Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves’ starring Kevin Costner. The Quantock Hills (AONB) are an area of wilderness and tranquillity. Panoramic views lead you through coast, heath and combe. Explore and you will find rocky Jurassic coastline, exposed heathland summits, deep wooded combes, undulating farmland and attractive villages all within this protected landscape. The cottage is a short drive (or a fabulous 2½ mile walk) from the village of Nether Stowey, with its range of shops and pubs. Places of interest include Coleridge Cottage and Dunster Castle (both NT), the Somerset Levels, Glastonbury Tor, Wells Cathedral, Cheddar Gorge and Taunton. Beach 2 miles. Shop 2½ miles, pub and restaurant 100 yards.

Tuppence Cottage is situated right in the heart of Dulverton, which has a good range of shops, pubs and tea rooms. Close to this semi-detached cottage, there is plenty of walking into the surrounding countryside and up to Exmoor National Park. Visit Tarr Steps, Dunkery Beacon and the pretty moorland village of Withypool. Further afield, there is superb scenery and walking on the South West Coastal Path, or the Victorian villages of Lynmouth and Lynton, famous for the Watermeet Gorge (National Trust), Valley of the Rocks and the funicular cliff railway, are also worth a visit. The resort of Minehead has a promenade, as well as having a good array of shops and other amenities. A visit to the medieval village of Dunster, with its castle (National Trust), beautiful terraced gardens, deer park and mill, will make for an interesting day out. Watchet, Porlock and Porlock Weir hold plenty of charm and interest to those who visit the area, and there are beaches at Dunster and Blue Anchor. Fishing is available within 3 miles of Tuppence Cottage. Dulverton is very popular for fishing and has its own angling club, as well as a fishing shop in the high street. Only 2 miles away is a fishery, which is one of the local places to fish and is open all year round. Wimbleball Lake is only 5 miles away and has trout and coarse fishing. You can also book fishing lessons here. There is a wide range of fishing available, including, fly fishing, salmon fishing and coarse fishing. All fishing requires day tickets, which can be purchased from the fisheries. Beach 16 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 50 yards.

The Cow Shed has been lovingly converted by the owners, who have years of experience in the hospitality industry, and this really shows inside and out. Enter through the stunning glass door, and you will find a ground floor twin bedroom, and a double bedroom with an en-suite shower room just off the hallway. From here, two steps lead down into the wonderful, large, open-plan living space, where gorgeous furnishings and fittings such as olive bucket lightshades set the scene for the stunning views of the Blackdown Hills beyond. Upstairs are two large bedrooms (one has a zip and link twin or super kingsize bed, and the other has a fabulous kingsize designer sleigh bed). An impressive bathroom with a roll-top bath and separate shower cubicle can also be found here. Outside, the huge patio area has multiple seating areas and a stunning 6-8 person hot tub, where you can crack open the bubbly and watch the sun set beyond. There is also access to a lovely lawned area for games.
Set in the lovely village of Bishopswood, with the Somerset Wildlife Trust running adjacent to the property, you are only 5 minutes’ walk from the local pub and surrounded by miles of beautiful walks. The market town of Honiton is just 10 miles away and the beach at Lyme Regis can be reached within a 30-minute drive. Heading north, you will find the county town of Taunton with lots of restaurants, cinema, bowling and shopping, and within an hour’s drive you will find Glastonbury, Street, Minehead and the moors of Exmoor! The market town of Axbridge is only 2 miles away and the bustling village of Wedmore with its great restaurants, shops and tearooms only 4 miles. You will be spoilt for choice here with so many places of interest to visit, including Wells Cathedral, England’s smallest city with its Bishops Palace, and Glastonbury with its famous tor and abbey. The mysterious caves of Cheddar and Wookey Hole and its wonder of the world gorge, are both just a short distance away. Beach 10 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

Old Orchard Barn - The Annexe is a beautiful converted property in the heart of Buckland St Mary, a gorgeous Somerset village, yet within easy access to the A303. Inside it has been lovingly converted as a relaxing holiday retreat for two to feature a cosy living area with electric wood burner and Smart TV, although with the large windows gazing out over the rolling fields you may never need to switch it on! The living room is open plan with the kitchen although this is up a step, giving it a slightly separate feel. The kitchen is well-equipped with an oven, hob, microwave and fridge/freezer, and there is a wonderful dining area making the most of the views. Into the bedroom you have an oak kingsize bed with bamboo mattress, Egyptian cotton bedding and an oak dressing table, as well as a hanging area for your clothes, off the bedroom there is a fabulously colourful en-suite with shower cubicle. Outside there is a private garden area with seating and views, perfect for a glass of wine as the sun goes down, there is also a private outdoor swimming pool available from 10am until 4pm (May-Sep only) and shared use of the tennis court - bring your own tennis rackets and tennis shoes (white soles only).
The property is located within the Blackdown Hills - an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, on the Somerset, Devon and Dorset border. There are some beautiful walks in the area, and a Covid-19 secure country public house less than ½ mile away, as well as an Italian restaurant ½ mile in the other direction.
It is set between the market town of Chard, with its shops and museums, and the larger county town of Taunton with its bustling shopping centre, restaurants, bars and entertainment facilities. There are many tourist attractions to visit, from woodland walks to National Trust estates such as Barrington Court and Montacute House. The Quantocks and Exmoor National Park are within easy driving, and for a trip back in time, travel from Taunton along the West Somerset Steam Railway to Minehead.
Further afield you have the Jurassic Coast beaches of Lyme Regis and West Bay, as well as some of Somerset’s great places to visit. Guests can drive to Glastonbury Tor for an exhilarating walk to the top with some magnificent views of Somerset, perhaps calling in at The Clarkes Factory Village and Wells Cathedral and Palace, or head into the other direction into Devon and visit the city of Exeter and have lunch on the quays! Wagtails is a luxurious property, totally dog-focused and ideal for families or couples, located just outside the village of Langford Budville. Set between woodland and open countryside with panoramic views of the Blackdown Hills in the lovely vale of Taunton Deane on the Somerset/Devon border.
This wonderful property is warm, spacious and homely, furnished and decorated to a high standard throughout, with everything you would need for your doggy holiday. There is a utility room and an adjacent outside hot doggy shower, equipped with a washing machine, tumble dryer, throws (for use on sofas and chairs), towels, poo bags, treats and toys. The living room has comfy seating for you and your dogs, an electric fire and a 50" Smart TV. The kitchen is well-equipped, and there is a freezer that can be used for raw food.
Outside, the humans can relax in the private hot tub, even in the winter months, or in the large double-ended bath. For the younger guests, there is a cot, highchair and stairgate available. There is a den room with toys and books, and a shared park close by with swings and slides. Wagtails provides everything you would need for your dogs and the family. The garden is well-fenced and has a large patio area with seating, a coal barbecue and a food serving area. The garden is private with views over the open countryside. The hot tub area also has seating and plastic glasses are supplied so you can sip sundowners whilst in the hot tub on summer evenings.
Adjoining a 200-acre nature reserve, offering beautiful country walks from the doorstep and further afield on the Blackdowns, Quantocks and Exmoor. A walking guide and a list of dog-friendly pubs can be found in the cottage. A dog-friendly café is a 5-minute walk up the track, serving freshly baked cakes, cream teas and tasty light lunches. The dog-friendly village pub is a 10-minute walk and offers real ales, open fires and good food.
Nearby places to discover include The Blackdown Hills with the recently restored monument, the town of Wellington with lots of independent cafés and shops, as well as Exmoor National Park. Minehead and North Devon, with sandy beaches, are within easy reach. Taunton is within 10 miles, and the city of Exeter is approximately 22 miles, brimming with history and heritage, and it offers many visitor attractions to keep you entertained for hours on end. Set between the Ancient Medieval town of Glastonbury and England’s smallest City Wells with its wonderful Farmers Market on a Wednesday and Saturday as well as it’s bustling continental café culture, there is an endless list of things to do while staying at Katy. For the keen cyclists there are endless routes along the Somerset levels and bike store with freezer is provided at the cottage. From your front door you are surrounded by countryside walks, nature reserve as well as the well renowned local pub The Sheppey, within walking distance, where you may even spot a famous face or two while sampling the fabulous menu. Head to Street for some retail therapy at Clarks Village, spend a day in Cheddar with its famous Gorge or perhaps meet the Witch of Wookey at Wookey Hole Caves!

You needn’t venture far with glorious countryside walks or cycle routes from the door along with a couple of good local Inns within a short distance from Otters Holt. The pretty town of Wellington is just a few miles away and offers a great range of independent shops, pubs and places to eat, as well as an award-winning park. Wellington was also named in The Times in 2021 as the 3rd best place to live in the Britain, and so is well worth a visit. If you do venture further afield you will be impressed by the abundance of great spots to visit, from the stunning natural beauty of Exmoor National Park to the wonderful Quantock Hills, and if fresh sea air is on your list the stunning North Devon Coast is within an hour’s drive and is ideal for surfing, kite surfing for the more adventurous!
The Jurassic coastline and picturesque seaside town of Lyme Regis with its independent shops, restaurants and fossil hunting opportunities is less than 1 hour drive. Further South the beaches and seaside towns of Exmouth, Sidmouth and Teignmouth are all within easy reach.
