Each bed features a comfortable Hypnos mattress for added comfort. Set down a country lane, close to the heart of the village, yet surrounded by peaceful countryside. Easy access to the market towns of Halesworth, Framlingham and its castle. Excellent for touring Norfolk and Suffolk, and central to the Heart of Suffolk cycle route. Stowmarket, 10 miles, is home to the Museum of East Anglian Life, has a wide range of shops and restaurants and direct train links to London Liverpool Street Station. Bury St Edmunds with its cathedral, abbey grounds and Georgian theatre, the market town of Diss and the county towns of Ipswich, Norwich and Colchester are all within easy reach. Slightly further afield are the unspoilt delights of the Suffolk Heritage Coast, including Aldeburgh, Dunwich, Walberswick, Southwold and the ancient burial ground at Sutton Hoo (National Trust). Why not visit the Cold War Museum at Bentwaters or the Transport Museum at Ipswich; you could also stop for a drink along the waterfront. Pleasure Wood Hills Theme Park is less than an hour away and offers a great day out for all the family. There are a variety of antique shops and centres, and if you are looking for a treat, then why not spend a day at the Potton Hall Spa. Norwich is only one hour away and is an ideal day out with its array of shops, market stalls and famous cathedral.

The Nest is a beautiful, self-contained one-bedroom cottage situated next to the main farmhouse. It can sleep up to three adults or two adults with two children. It’s the perfect location for those wishing to explore the local area and is ideal for those interested in walking and wildlife. The living room is a former conservatory with a cosy roof and has underfloor heating to ensure comfort all year round. The living room has a double sofa bed, TV and dining table. You’ll also find a selection of games and toys to keep you entertained, and books and maps to help you whilst exploring the area. The small but perfectly formed kitchen has everything you need, with a full oven, gas hob, microwave and fridge. You’ll find some of the basics such as cooking oil, salt, pepper etc already in the cupboards. The bedroom features a super kingsize bed, reading lights, built-in wardrobes with a full-length mirror and French doors opening up onto the private garden. It’s a bright and airy room, but once you’ve drawn the curtains and dimmed the lights it’s the ideal place to cosy up with a good book. Just off the bedroom is a large shower room, with a walk-in shower, twin vanity units and toilet. The garden has a seating area, with gas BBQ and a chimnea with views out across the farm fields allowing you to listen to the birdsong.
We’ve made sure you don’t need to pack too heavily, with games, toys for the kids, DVDs, books, picnic blanket, flask, Tupperware, children’s cups, plates and cutlery all provided. We can even lend camping chairs, beach shelters and buckets and spades if needed. Don’t worry we haven’t forgotten your four-legged friend, there’s bowls, blankets, poo bags and a little treat ready for their arrival too.
Located in the heart of Suffolk Coast’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, The Nest is the perfect retreat for those wishing to explore the area. Situated discreetly off a private farm track, well away from the busy roads and directly on the Sandlings Walk, it’s ideal for walkers, cyclists and birdwatchers. The Nest is just 1½ miles from Aldeburgh town, which has an array of pubs, cafés, shops and plenty of other facilities. The nearest pubs are in Knodishall and Aldringham, only a 5-minute drive away or can be reached via country footpaths.
Popular places such as Thorpeness, Southwold, Minsmere Nature Reserve, Orford, Woodbridge and Framlingham are all within a 35-minute drive. One (two smaller dogs considered), well-behaved dog is permitted during your stay. Dogs must be kept under control at all times and be cleaned up after. The much celebrated and photographed villages of Lavenham and Long Melford are close by, as are Ipswich, with its picturesque quay, Bury St Edmunds, with its famous abbey and amazing Christmas market, and Newmarket, where you can enjoy horse races and more.
Nature lovers should take the time to visit Thetford Forest, where the more adventurous can also experience Go Ape. Coastal lovers can explore the Suffolk Heritage Coast, starting with Aldeburgh and then traveling to Southwold with its pier and painted beach huts. After a busy day, you can return to Blackberry Cottage where you can be sure of a good night’s sleep.

Situated in the beautiful countryside of Suffolk, this detached former farmhouse is within walking distance to Alton Water, which is spread over 400 acres. The area is perfect for cyclists and walkers to explore the countryside and wildlife. Guests who enjoy water sports can visit the Alton Water Visitor Centre where you will also find a children’s play area, mini golf, café and picnic site. Guests are welcome to bring 2 dogs and the owner thoughtfully provides a a welcome basket, dog beds and a purpose built outdoor kennel with an indoor area so they can be left in a comfortable environment.
For those wanting to venture in to the local town of Ipswich, there are plenty of historic sites to see, or simply shop and stop for a coffee and watch the world go by. The beach is approximately 13 miles from the property and is ideal for a family day out. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.
