Felixstowe has its wheel which is erected in the summer months.
Just 40 minutes away is the Suffolk coast and heaths an area of natural beauty. Alternatively, the picturesque Constable country around Dedham Vale is within 30 miles. These holiday cottages were constructed in 2021 and have everything you could need for a restful stay. Fallow Cottage (UK33488) and Roe Cottage (UK33490) both have two bedrooms and a family bathroom. Muntjac Cottage (UK33489) is a one bedroomed cottage perfect for a couple’s getaway. Fallow cottage and roe cottage have a wood burner, and all have their own private courtyard garden with garden furniture for you to relax in after a day of adventure.
Set in the heart of Hadleigh just opposite one of England’s oldest Cricket pitch, the town itself offers a unique high street packed with quirky boutique shops, pubs, cafés and restaurants and is surrounded by beautiful Suffolk countryside, all just waiting to be explored. There are some great walks starting almost from the doorstep including one along the picturesque River Brett and another which takes you along the old railway line to Raydon.
Venture just a little further and you will find a wealth of attractions nearby. Visit Lavenham, considered to be Britain’s best preserved medieval village and used in the filming of ‘Harry Potter’. This picturesque town is packed with galleries and lots of unique places to shop, eat and drink. Also seen on TV, ‘Jimmy’s Farm’ and is within easy reach, as are Flatford and Kersey Mills and Dedham Vale.
For a change of pace, head to Ipswich Marina for a spot of lunch or visit the glorious Suffolk coastline, under an hour away. Located on the coastal road between Woodbridge and Snape in the Suffolk coastal area of outstanding beauty. This Victorian farm cottage was built in 1872 and is located close to many of the best tourist attractions in Suffolk.
The cottage is full of character being a period building, it has a beautiful log burner and traditional comfortable furnishings with a modern, contemporary and clean decor. There is a small bathroom downstairs with a bath and a powerful hot shower too, there are three spacious bedrooms although the cottage comfortably hosts up to four people. The garden is large with comfortable outdoor furniture for you to enjoy your coffee at sunrise and wine at sunset. A flock of curious, funny, welcoming and happy hens and a cockerel live on the property and lay THE BEST eggs for your breakfast, which you are welcome to collect and eat. If you could feed them each morning, the owner would greatly appreciate it.
There are so many attractions nearby such as the UFO walk in the well-known Rendlesham forest, the famous “Sutton Hoo” viking burial site (Netflix made a popular series about it) 5 minutes down the road. We are only 13 minutes away from the nearest beach, shingle street, and 18 minutes from Aldeburgh, a popular tourist destination. In addition to a plethora of top-quality restaurants, pubs, and Michelin star eateries, Woodbridge was voted the best place to live in the east in 2021. You can kayak, paddle board and wild swim in the rivers and seas. Woodbridge and Ufford park have lovely golf courses if you fancy a round. Shop 1/2-mile, Pub 200 Yards. Beach 10 miles.

The village of Hoxne, 5 minutes’ drive (2 miles) has a pub with restaurant, a village post office, deli and shop. Country walks are available all around and the Suffolk heritage coastline has fabulous beaches to enjoy. Explore Southwold, a fantastic seaside town with pier, historic lighthouse and high street lined with independent shops and boutiques. RSPB Minsmere and Dunwich Heath offer opportunities for spotting birds and connecting with wildlife, with excellent walks available. For a quieter sandy beach, head to Covehithe, and for great days out, visit Snape Maltings, Framlingham Castle, Eye Castle, Halesworth Museum, Yoxford Antiques Centre and Gardens and Easton Farm Park.
The vibrant market towns of Bungay and Beccles boast independent boutiques and chain shops and the weekly market is excellent for all things local. At Beccles there is an open air heated outdoor swimming pool, popular with many local swimmers and gateway to the famous Norfolk Broads National Park.
