This beautiful semi-detached, 16th-century, Grade II listed cottage can be found in the delightful Calderdale village of Warley, West Yorkshire, in a conservation area. Surrounded by stunning countryside, the cottage offers outstanding views over the stunning rural surrounding with scenic walks straight on the doorstep. There are also two pubs within walking distance. With exposed stone and wooden beams throughout the cottage you have that instant country living feel, the owners have gone to great lengths to ensure the property is a home from home.
The cottage is set over two levels, you enter into the dining room which is a lovely space to sit and have a family meal in front of the gorgeous wood burner. Opposite the dining room is the comfortable and cosy living room where you can relax again in front of another wood burner which will keep you warm on the colder evenings. On the same floor you have a well-presented, well-equipped kitchen which has plenty of room for food preparation. On the ground floor also is a shower room with shower cubicle, heated towels rail, toilet, and wash basin. Up one flight of stone steps is the beautifully presented master bedroom which presents a plush kingsize bed and Smart TV. The second bedroom also has a kingsize bed and Smart TV. The third bedroom has a double bed with all three bedrooms having luxury linen and fantastic views of the surrounding area and guaranteeing a perfect night’s sleep. The second lovely family shower room offers a shower cubicle and heated towel rail, a great place to have a soak after a day’s exploring. To the rear of the cottage, you have a private patio area with garden furniture and barbeque, a pretty place to sit and have a glass of fizz alfresco style and take in the fresh countryside air.
A 10-minute drive will take you to the historic town of Halifax, where you will find ample amenities including many great places to eat and drink. Halifax is also home to the unique Grade I listed Piece Hall where scenes from BBC’s Gentleman Jack were filmed, as well as Eureka! the National Children’s Museum perfect for families, and the Halifax Minster. Slightly further afield is the charming and vibrant market town of Hebden Bridge which can be reached in around a 15-minute drive, as can Haworth, most famous for its Brontë heritage. Set between the Peak District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks, both can be reached in around an hour, together with the bright lights of both Manchester and York. There is also a country style pub within walking distance from the cottage which serves local ales and good old pub grub. The only issue you will have with this staycation is fitting everything in so why not book a few extra days!

Weavers Loft is a cosy one bedroom single storey property with a separate kitchen equipped with essential amenities for cooking, creating a space that is both practical and charming. The Weavers Loft is a 200 year old Grade II listed building of special historical interest. Adjacent to the Worth Valley Steam railway in the village of Haworth, made famous through its association with the Bronte sisters who lived in the parsonage. Wander through to find an open-plan lounge and dining room. The interior features exposed beams adding a touch of rustic elegance. The lounge area has a cosy electric fireplace, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Comfortable, classic furniture and soft furnishings contribute to the homely feel. Large low windows let in ample natural light, showcasing the original design. The double bedroom has a small built-in wardrobe. Brontë country is nearby offering lots of wonderful walking and cycling routes across the moors. The village of Haworth has pretty cobbled streets lined with bunting and old-fashioned windows giving you a glimpse of the wares within. There is an array of antique shops, book stores, cafés and restaurants, plus the Brontë Parsonage Museum. The market town of Skipton is worth a visit, also known as ‘The Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales’, with a medieval castle and bustling street markets. Venture to Bolton Abbey for a picture-perfect picnic beside the river.

Four Gables is a charming pet-friendly holiday cottage nestled in the picturesque village of Scholes, just over a mile from the centre of bustling Holmfirth. You can discover the local wine scene by visiting Holmfirth Vineyard for tastings and tours, and on Saturdays explore Holmfirth Market where local vendors sell fresh produce, crafts, and jewellery. If you visit during July, you have the chance to experience Holmfirth Art Week. You must visit the legendary Picturedrome, make sure to check their schedule as this historic cinema dates to 1912 and hosts a range of films, live music events, and comedy shows. Holmfirth is also home to many charming pubs where you can relax with a drink, and restaurants serving delicious local cuisine. Finally, being on the edge of the Peak District National Park means there’s ample opportunities for walking and cycling with scenic trails such as the Holme Valley Circular or the Trans Pennine Trail.
Further afield you’ll find a wealth of popular attractions to explore, such as the Yorkshire Sculpture Park a 25-minute drive, where art and nature collide creating a truly immersive experience. If you’re travelling with children, a visit to the National Coal Mining Museum, 25 minutes’ drive is both educational and entertaining with interactive exhibits that bring history to life. It has Victorian buildings, shops, pubs and restaurants, plus close by is the National Trust-owned East Riddlesden Hall and many walking routes in the area. Catch a ride on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway and travel on steam or diesel trail through the surrounding countryside and villages, made famous as locations for the filming of ‘The Railway Children’. Venture to the idyllic market town of Skipton and uncover the gateway to the Dales, before continuing to Hebden Bridge, famously used in the filming of the popular BBC series ‘Happy Valley’. Within reach by car is the popular town of Harrogate, a historic town filled with attractions for the whole family, and the inviting spa town of Ilkley.

Weavers Cottage is a wonderful pet-friendly holiday cottage less than a mile from the very centre of the super vibrant market town of Holmfirth. Comfortable and cosy it makes the perfect base for a getaway with or without your furry four-legged friends. Equipped with everything you need for a relaxing and enjoyable stay, the open-plan living area features a comfortable sofa which also converts to a sofa bed suitable for a child. Holmfirth is a beautiful ‘picture postcard’ town with plenty to see and do, including pet-friendly pubs and cafés where you can enjoy a meal and a drink. Probably best known as the back drop to the long running ‘Last of the Summer Wine’ TV series, quite excitingly, fans of the show can check out iconic locations such as Sid’s Café, Nora Batty’s steps and jump on board the ‘Summerwine Magic Tour’. Keen cyclists can re-create the Holme Moss Summit Climb as seen in 2014 Tour de France, and for evening entertainment, Holmfirth Picturedrome is reported to be the North of England’s finest intimate music venue. Quite uniquely, Holmfirth is also home to its very own vineyard where you can take a tour or grab a bite to eat. Of course all of this is on the northern edge of the Peak District National Park meaning opportunities for walkers are endless.

After a scenic walk, leave your boots in the handy boot room, with plenty of hooks for wet coats and towels for muddy paws.

Both villages can be easily reached on foot or bicycle along the canal directly from the property. With an easy 20 min walk you can enjoy the numerous café’s, bars and local shops, including some excellent artisan bakeries for that special breakfast treat. Just a short walk through adjacent fields will bring you to the Olive Branch Inn with its relaxed atmosphere, fine dining and outdoor seating to take in the beautiful views. The property is burrowed amidst the National Trust Marsden Moor Estate; guests will be spoilt for choice with more than 5000 acres to explore. Whether you prefer to explore the landscape on foot, by bike or through the lens of a camera there are plenty of things to see and do. The rugged landscape and steep climbs are the perfect challenge for keen mountain bikers, while others might prefer to wander alongside the water’s edge of the canal and retrace ancient packhorse trails to Standedge Tunnel with it’s fascinating Visitor Centre – where you can learn about the longest, highest and deepest canal tunnel in Britain. Marsden Train station can be reached on foot or just a few minutes drive away and offers easy access to Manchester (36mins) and Leeds (45mins) for that Big City vibe.

Situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park and Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this a perfect retreat for walkers, cyclists, and ramblers, with plenty of walks, cycle paths, bridleways, and established footpaths into picturesque countryside. Dating back to Roman times, Menston is on the ancient Roman Road that linked York with the garrison at Ribchester nowadays you will find a country pub just 500 yards away.

Nearby you will find the picturesque market towns of Otley and Ilkley with an abundance of restaurants, pubs, pavement cafés and independent shops that can all be easily reached. Harewood House, just 15 minutes away, is a fantastic day out offering impressive art collections, a magnificent, rare bird garden and 100 acres of exquisite gardens to explore. For Emmerdale fans, you’ll also find the set, deep within the grounds of the estate. Bolton Abbey can be reached in around a 20-minute drive and offers 30,000 acres of beautiful countryside to explore.

The charming market town of Skipton, also 20 minutes away, is home to an ancient castle, cobbled high street and colourful street market. Leeds city centre can be reached in just 20 minutes from the local train station where you can enjoy luxury shopping. Haworth village, once home to the Brontë Sisters, is another major tourist attraction in the area and can be reached in around a 30-minute drive.

This beautiful stone-built cottage offers a comfortable stay in the charming World Heritage Site of Saltaire, which is full of history, character and stunning architecture. The village is named after Sir Titus Salt who built a textile mill, known as Salts Mill and this village on the River Aire back in the 1800s. There are many reasons why you should visit Saltaire from the spectacular architecture as you wander around the village, to the independent shops and restaurants scattered around the village. There is world class art on display at Salts Mill with one of the largest collections of David Hockney’s, and all surrounded by countryside and moors.
Bronte country is also nearby, offering lots of wonderful walking routes across the moors and, for those keen on cycling, why not try a section of the Tour de France route that runs through Keighley and Haworth? For a more relaxing way to explore the area, hop on the Worth Valley Steam Train from Keighley Station, which takes you on a 5-mile journey through the Haworth moors and on to Oxenhope, once home to the Bronte sisters. The village of Haworth, 8 miles, is well worth a visit with its pretty cobbled streets lined with bunting and old-fashioned windows giving you a glimpse of the wares within. There is an array of antique shops, independent bookstores, pavement cafés and restaurants, plus the Bronte Parsonage Museum.
The market town of Skipton, also known as ‘The Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales’, 15 miles, is another great day out and can be easily accessed by the train station located at the end of the road, with its tempting selection of bars and restaurants, a medieval castle and bustling street markets. You can also take a stroll along the Leeds & Liverpool canal that runs through, or simply watch the barges chug through from a bar overlooking the water. The only issue you will have is trying to fit everything in so why not book a few extra days? Pub 1 mile.

These include the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, The Hepworth Gallery, Nostell Priory, Salts Mill, Bronte Parsonage and Harewood House, all within an hour’s drive, as are the cities of York, Leeds, Manchester and Sheffield.
