The cottage is the former Coach House to Heath Park, a listed property used by Beatrix Potter in the 1890s. Gunby Hall is 7 miles and Tattersall Castle 15 miles, both National Trust. Horncastle, famous for antiques, is 15 miles and the medieval cathedral city of Lincoln is 40 miles. The owners offer their guests a free daily session with their dog at Hunsdale Fields. Both 3-acre and 5-acre fields are fully enclosed, where each customer has the exclusive use to let their dog exercise off the lead, without the distractions of other dogs or their owners.

This superbly restored, former estate stone cottage offers excellent terraced holiday accommodation in the heart of the village of Brantingham opposite the picturesque village pond and green. It has modern internal features, including high speed fibre broadband, a bespoke kitchen, feature brick barbecue, patio furniture and sun umbrella for an al fresco meal, wood burning stove and an oak staircase, leading to galleried landing with a desk and views of the village green. It has quality oak furniture, and furnishings created with the help of an interior designer. The property also has special lighting, underfloor heating downstairs and in the bathroom, and provides a lovely base to explore the area from or simply relax in. You might never want to leave the village, but if you do, there is plenty to do in the local area, including Beverley with its cobbled streets, racecourse, minster and courtyards. Hull is only 12 miles away, with its 2017 City of Culture status, museums, Humber Bridge, Hull Truck Theatre and The Deep aquarium. Hull University is only 13 miles away, making Pond View Cottage ideal for parents visiting their children, taster weeks and graduation. Further afield there is Burton Constable Hall, Castle Howard, North York Moors and Xscape Yorkshire (which boasts the country’s biggest real snow slope). York, with its minster, Shambles, museums, nearby Yorkshire Air Museum and boat trips, is 28 miles away. Cyclists and walkers will love the rolling hills and many established walks, including the Yorkshire Wolds Way and Coast to Coast cycle route, which are accessed from outside the door. The village of Bradwell is set in the hills of the Peak District National Park and the cottage is located on the side of a steep hillside. Perfectly placed for a holiday exploring the Peak District. The spa town of Buxton, the market town of Bakewell and the Chatsworth stately home are all within 10 miles. Excellent walking and riding terrain locally. There are many events held throughout the year, including the famous annual Jazz Festival, the spectacular Highland Games, traditional agricultural shows, concerts and art festivals; whatever your interest it can be found on the Isle of Bute. Catch the ferry for the 5-minute trip to Colintraive on the Cowal Peninsula and explore Argyll’s Secret Coast where you have easy access to Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, or head north to Inverary and beyond. Take a delightful stroll from Aberaeron town along the leafy pedestrian track to Llanerchaeron, an elegant Georgian villa set in the wooded Aeron Valley. Visit the Victorian seaside resort of Aberystwyth, with its pier and promenade, or take the steam railway to Devils Bridge.
New Quay is just a few minutes’ drive away and there you will find a quaint town, once the home of poet Dylan Thomas, and a great place to spot the resident bottlenose dolphins or take a boat trip out to discover the wildlife. Dogs are welcome to come and stay and there is plenty of good walks locally. The centre of St Bees has an excellent selection of local pubs and restaurants and if you want to leave the car behind you can take the train to many local towns. St Bees station, a number of pubs, restaurants and the local convenience store are all within 200 yards of the property. The famous St Bees priory, dating back to the 11th century is well worth a visit and can be reached within a 5-minute walk. If you like outdoor adventure, including walking, cycling and climbing, you are surrounded by some amazing scenery and you are only a 10-mile drive from the Lake District National Park, your nearest lake is Ennerdale which is regarded as one of the most unspoilt and natural parts of the Lake District. It is teaming with wildlife including buzzards, red squirrels and osprey to name a few. If you want to climb the highest mountain in England you can reach Wasdale Head in just 18 miles, which gives you the shortest route to the summit of Scafell Pike. Or why not take a trip on the La’al Ratty which is a miniature steam railway along the South West Coast. For golfers, St Bees offers an excellent 9-hole links course. Beach ¾ mile. Just a one-mile walk from Flamborough’s magnificent lighthouse, these former agricultural barns, estimated to date back approximately 200 years, have been skillfully converted retaining many original features and exposed roof timbers. The location of these cottages affords far-reaching views, yet close to local amenities; each one has its own sitting-out area complete with garden furniture and with underfloor heating at ground level the holiday cottages remain cosy all year round. Built in 1860, the lighthouse stands guard atop the chalk cliff, as a silent sentinel, protecting shipping off Flamborough Head, and tours are available throughout the summer.
