Welcome to The Pod, a bespoke designed haven in Babcary. Attention to detail is evident throughout and The Pod has been created with your perfect holiday in mind. Set in its own courtyard and having a fabulous hot tub and firepit to enjoy with beautiful countryside views as well as views of the owner’s sheep and horses, surrounding you, you’ll spend hours chilling out here! Stepping inside through the triple bi-fold doors, the open plan studio layout works perfectly for your romantic retreat, with the extremely comfortable, raised kingsize bed enjoying the highest quality sheets for the ultimate night’s sleep. The kitchen area is well equipped and has granite worktops, an electric hob and full-sized oven, fridge with freezer compartment and a microwave, allowing you to cook a meal at any time of day and then relax on the sofa with a glass of wine or a cuppa! The shower room has been finished to the same high standard, with a large electric shower and heated towel rail for your comfort. Underfloor heating features throughout making the pod the ideal choice for a holiday at any time of year!
There is a working equestrian facility to the rear and if you can bear to tear yourself away, then you are within driving distance of many superb attractions in south Somerset. Nearby are the great attractions of the Yeovilton Fleet Air Arm Museum, the Haynes Classical Car Collection, the enchanting Glastonbury Tor and Clarks Factory Village. There are numerous historic houses, the cathedral city of Wells and onto the delightful Cheddar Gorge and caves, while further afield is the historic spa city of Bath. There is a wealth of attractions and sights to enjoy and on your return perhaps stroll down to the local award-winning village pub, 1 mile away, to wine and dine.

Offering a fabulous back-to-nature experience for couples wanting a romantic getaway, The Lambing Shed is a glamping experience, but with modern conveniences. It is not just an ordinary shepherds hut, it’s a beautiful, bespoke comfortable shepherds hut with comfortable double bed, glowing wood burner, en-suite shower room and even fire pit and pizza oven! For those special occasions, the friendly owners who live on-site can provide delicious home baked goods, breakfast packs and flower arrangements by prior arrangement (charges apply). Nestled next to a working dairy farm and livery in the small village of South Hiendley, once you step out of the door, you’re greeted with beautiful views of rural west Yorkshire. Surrounded by attractive open countryside South Hiendley is home to a good local pub, and in the nearby town of Hemsworth 10 minutes away you’ll find further ample amenities.
For those wanting to blow the cobwebs away, Hemsworth is also home to Hemsworth Water Park, where you’ll find two well stocked fishing lakes, one where you can take pedalo rides, and a man-made sandy beach. Carlton Marsh Nature Reserve is also just 5 minutes away and Fitzwilliam Country Park is 15 minutes away. There’s also Wentworth Castle, the Yorkshire Sculpture Park and Cannon Hall, all can be reached in just 20 minutes meaning you really are spoilt for choice. Finally, slightly further afield a 30 minute drive will take you to the edge of the Peak District National Park and everything it has to offer, the shopping centres of both Meadowhall and White Rose, or the bright lights of the city of Sheffield in 40 minutes. Set on picturesque farmland, the same family have been farming here for over 40 years and the glamping site was designed by a family member as it was his ’happy place’ and we think you will soon discover that it is yours too. These bespoke, hand-built shepherd huts provide the perfect getaway for those looking for a great mix of glamping and contemporary facilities. The huts themselves have been designed to offer Romani-caravan style living in that all you will find inside is a beautifully appointed bedroom with a full-size double bed and a wardrobe. Don’t be fooled though, as these pretty little huts offer far more room than a traditional Romani-style caravan and make for a lovely space to relax and unwind. Each of these charming properties comes with access to a shared building housing individual private high-end bathrooms for each of the two units and a well-equipped shared kitchen and dining room. Choose Hedge Betty (the Norfolk slang for a Hedge Sparrow) and enjoy your own hot tub.
You can also bring your two dogs along to this hut, which is beautifully decorated in cool greys. Or choose Jill Hoot (UK36796) (that’s Norfolk for an owl!) which is pet free and therefore perfect for those with allergies and is decorated in a pretty beach-hut blue. Both huts have seating areas in the shared grounds and there is a shared fire pit perfect for toasting marshmallows too. The whole site is so private and secluded that there is very little light pollution, meaning that you will see a sky full of stars laid out like a sparkling blanket above you every night. It also offers daytime views across rolling fields and the chance to get close to nature as you will often find yourself sharing your space with local wildlife such as deer, pheasants and wild rabbits. There are even woodpeckers and buzzards around too, adding to the magic of this truly unique site.

Morning Mist is stunning! Set on a working farm, on the edge of, and within walking distance from, Strensall Common, an area of special scientific interest, with lovely views across open countryside and to the village beyond. Here you are only 8 miles from York, where the magic of the city will surely leave you with many special memories.
Tucked away in a secluded corner under an ancient oak tree and with a cosy welcoming interior, this property is ideal for you to enjoy a romantic break away in open countryside; perfect as a base to explore the historic city of York and North York Moors, whilst providing a relaxing retreat to return to each evening. The open plan living area is well laid out and offers a cosy place to sit and enjoy a home-cooked meal, prepared in the small but well equipped kitchen, whilst the warming wood burner will provide just the right ambiance for your romantic evening in. The kingsize bed is slightly raised so that you can lie in bed and look out across the fields as you wake up and plan your day. The rustic shower room for Morning Mist is a bespoke miniature shepherd’s hut, sat just to the side, with a large shower. Step outside into the enclosed garden where a wood-fired hot tub sits to one side - just perfect for a few hours relaxing under the stars, or a peaceful soak in the afternoon sun, after your long day exploring the local area. For cycling enthusiasts, there are also bicyles provided at the property.
The local village offers lots of amenities, including a choice of pubs, takeaways and convenience stores. York offers some of the UK’s leading visitor attractions, including the majestic York Minster, National Railway Museum, which is the largest in the world, York’s Chocolate Story and the not to be missed Jorvik Viking Centre. Getting into the city is easy by car (including park and ride) or bus, with services running daily and if you wish to be a little more energetic why not try one of the many cycle routes into the city?
Just a short drive away is the iconic Castle Howard, home to Brideshead Revisited, Sledmere House Beningborough Hall and the picturesque market towns of Malton and Helmsley, where you can sample some great Yorkshire fayre in one of the many independent cafés and delicatessens. A little further afield is the stunning North Yorkshire Moors National Park and the famous coastal towns of Whitby and Scarborough; great for some sea air and a fish and chip supper. Nestled in a secluded corner of the owner’s meadow, this delightful shepherds hut is a cosy and stylish retreat. It is set in the heart of the stunning South Cornwall countryside, but is an easy jaunt to some amazing beaches, great tourist attractions and bustling towns. The Wool Shed, complete with a raised decked area with distant sea views, is the perfect escape for two. The beaches of Caerhays, Gorran Haven and Hemmick are easily reached, and the bustling fishing village of Mevagissey is close by. The narrow streets of Mevagissey are lined with local pubs, shops and cafés, which all seem to gravitate to the working harbour where you can take a boat out for fishing trips to catch your supper for the barbecue back at The Wool Shed.

The Lost Gardens of Heligan are just a couple of minutes away and an essential part of a Cornish holiday, with its stunning jungle and beautiful woodland walks. There is also a great local farm shop for treats and provisions. At nearby Pentewan you can hire bikes and cycle the off road and flat trail leading up to the town of St Austell, and for the more energetic, you can eventually cycle to the Eden Project on a network of local trails. This wonder is worth every penny, with its huge biomes and tropical rainforest, it is an amazing day out. The North Cornwall Coast is also accessible, with towns such as Newquay, Padstow and St Ives. The two Cornish coasts are only approximately 15 miles apart at this point.

The area around The Wool Shed is full of woodland walks, narrow lanes, local pubs, hidden coves and sandy beaches, and quaint little villages steeped in tradition and history. The Roseland Peninsula, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is stunning right down to the sailing village of St Mawes, where you can actually catch a ferry over to Falmouth for a day out in this bustling town. There are golf courses, sailing, fishing, cycling and surfing all available nearby, making The Wool Shed the perfect place for a rest or to enjoy the activities this county offers. Beach 1½ miles. Elsie has been lovingly restored by her owners in 2020, to offer a wonderful holiday for families or friends, she is situated right by the West Somerset Railway line that runs from Minehead to Bishops Lydeard and also offers sea views from every room! Every detail has been considered to make your stay as perfect as possible. Head up the steps and through the door, where you will enter into the living/dining room, with comfortable sofas and dining table comfortably seating 6 people, off the living space is the very well equipped (and fabulous sized) kitchen with full cooking facilities as well as a full fridge/freezer, microwave and washer/dryer! Head down the narrow hallway to your sleeper cabins, one of which is a small double with sea and railway views plus a TV, while the other two bedrooms feature bunk beds (original but made safe for 21st century use!) both feature sea and track views, TVs and one has an XBox to keep the kids happy after a day exploring the beach or on Exmoor! At the end of the carriage is the shower room with a large shower. Outside you have a large grass area for games and relaxing, plus private parking. *Please note, the underside of the carriage is open and the working track can be accessed, please ensure that dogs are kept on a lead at all times and children are fully supervised while outside*
Blue Anchor is a wonderful seaside village, set between Minehead and Watchet, with a fabulous stretch of beach which is perfect for year round use and is also dog friendly at all times! The beautiful West Somerset Steam Railway which runs through Blue Anchor has a stop here and they offer wonderful trips as well as speciality trips with steam fairs, afternoon teas, candlelight dinners and the amazing Santa Express! Nearby, head to the medieval village of Dunster with its wonderful castle, spend a day at the arcades or shopping in Minehead, pop to Watchet and stroll around the Harbour or head inland onto Exmoor.
