If you are coming to the Cotswold Water Park for stargazing or to enjoy the surroundings with family and friends, then Shearwater Laker House is the place for you.
The interior has a lovely calming decor and with full height doors and windows in the living space, the amazing lake scenery can be seen and enjoyed whatever the weather.
The open plan kitchen and dining area are central to the home and the living area opens out onto the deck with outdoor furniture and a BBQ for the warmer days. In winter you can curl up on the couch in front of the gas fire and enjoy the extraordinary views over the lake from the comfort of the sofa.
A bedroom and bathroom can be found on the ground floor for anyone not wanting to venture upstairs and the other four bedrooms and two bathrooms are spread out over the two floors above so plenty of space for everyone.

Perched on the water’s edge Moorhen Lake House offers a sanctuary for all and gives a great first impression.
An open plan downstairs is complemented by stunning bi-folding glass doors that stretch across the back of the house. They ensure the house is filled with calm and tranquil light whilst showing the lake off in all its charming glory.
An ever changing picture of water-skiers, swans and rippling water can be enjoyed from the comfort of the sofa, or fold the doors back and the living area takes on a new and exciting feel. The outside space becomes an extension to the house, an ideal spot for alfresco dining, and the hot tub in the deck makes the perfect place to watch the world go by.
Upstairs offers three bedrooms and a family bathroom. More stunning lake views can be found from the master bedroom. You will also find within a few steps of the house a lakeside brasserie and a great children’s play area.

Muntjac Lodge offers an open plan living space, which is perfect for family celebrations. The Lower Mill Estate in Somerford Keynes, a development of stunning, contemporary homes, is situated on a private 450-acre natural reserve. The gated and managed estate comprises of woodland and meadows crossed by three rivers and surrounded by serene lakes. In addition to the house’s facilities, guests can enjoy the estate’s ArtSpa, with indoor and outdoor heated pools, eco-pool, sauna, steam room, gym and treatments by arrangement. Flowers Barn is a beautifully converted detached Cotswold stone barn, still boasting many original features throughout. Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, between Duntisbourne Rouse and Duntisbourne Leer. The name is taken from the River Dunt which flows through the village, and also from monks at the Abbey of Gloucester who controlled the area in the 13th century. Flowers Barn is adjacent to the owners’ working farm and occupies a beautiful countryside setting.
Built mainly in the time of Charles II, Flowers Barn was once home to aspiring writer and farm owner Eliza in the early 18th century. Eliza came to inherit 420-acres of land off her father, rather than one of her four brothers, and dedicated her life to the farm. She was a very bright and keen horsewoman, who was the first in the area to own a bicycle and a gas cooker. Eliza worked on the farm up until her death in 1901.
This is a perfect place to stay when in the Cotswolds, being just a 10-minute drive from Roman Cirencester and 20 minutes’ drive from Cheltenham and its famous horse racing festival in March each year. There are plenty of walks and cycle routes for active guests, and this is a very central position from which to visit the many beautiful towns and villages of the Cotswolds, including Bourton-on-the-Water, Bibury, Burford, Stow-on-the-Wold and Chipping Campden. Both Oxford and Stratford-upon-Avon are also a convenient drive away.
The accommodation provides upside down living with the bedrooms and bathroom on the ground floor and the living room and kitchen on the first floor. Outside there is a well-kept front garden with seating area and garden furniture. There is a driveway offering off road parking and a bike store can be made available should guests wish to bring their own bikes to leave the car behind and explore the area. Chestnut Lodge is located on the Lower Mill Estate in Somerford Keynes, a development of stunning, contemporary homes situated in a private, 450-acre nature reserve. The gated and managed estate comprises of woodland and meadows crossed by three rivers and surrounded by serene lakes. Nature lovers can walk through woodland and meadows enjoying the sight of migrating wildfowl, rare wild orchids and the observation of beavers from carefully located hides. Guests have access to all the facilities within the estate, including an on-site restaurant/bar, a spa (free of charge) with swimming pools, gym, sauna, steam room and spa treatments (extra charge). There are also tennis courts, football nets, children’s play areas, a 5km jogging trail, cycle tracks and a number of lakes where canoeing and paddle boarding can be enjoyed during the summer season. Fishing is permitted on-site (licence required).

It is a short walk from the estate to the local village pub serving real ale and good food. The estates ’Activity Hub’ provides equipment hire (water pursuits, cycling and tennis) and a source of knowledge on how best to enjoy the estate and local area. Outside the estate the wider area of the Cotswolds Water Park offers further opportunities to observe wildlife and to participate in activities including wakeboarding, water-skiing, windsurfing, canoeing, kayaking, paintballing, cycling, horse riding and rally driving. The wonderful countryside of the Cotswolds surrounds the water park, and Bath, Oxford, Cirencester and Cheltenham are all within easy reach. Chestnut Lodge is a mid-terrace property over three floors. It has the space and facilities for up to 8 adults and a baby. A lovely feature of the property is the uninterrupted view of the adjacent lake and the setting sun from the lounge and patio areas.
