A tour of the farm to see the livestock can be arranged directly with the owner.
Each property benefits from a wood burner or electric coal-effect fire, perfect for keeping cosy in the winter months. To the front of the properties is a shared lawned area where guests are welcome to enjoy picnics.
Cider Press Barn (ref UK12379) offers three bedrooms, two double, one with an en-suite shower room, and a further single. To the rear of the property is a private, enclosed courtyard garden with a built in barbecue, great for al fresco dining. The courtyard itself is a sun trap and is perfect for relaxing in the evenings.
Lambing Shed (ref UK12380) is a characterful property, though what really stands out is the attention and thought that has gone into the kitchen and living space, encouraging families to spend time together. The wood burner is surrounded by an outstanding open brick wall, providing a rustic appeal. From the kitchen window you have a great view across the farm courtyard and over the fields. Off the living room is a double bedroom with en-suite facilities, and further down the hallways is a twin bedroom and a shower room.
In the Forest of Dean itself, there are many picnic sites, pathways and cycle tracks to be found. Outdoor activities are plentiful with riding and canoeing available in the local area and the cathedral city of Gloucester is within easy driving distance. Situated on a working farm, these three holiday properties are surrounded by rural countryside and farm animals. The Old Granary (ref UK12135) is a renovated farm building that has gone under major work to make it a well thought out property, perfect for families and groups. The entrance way still has the original stone work, which gives the property character. On the ground floor you have three double bedrooms which are all very light and airy. The living/dining room and modern kitchen are situated on the first floor, and on the second floor there is a great space that has been designed perfectly for a children’s play area, with games, bean bags, a TV and Playstation 2.

The Old Laundry (ref UK12136) consists of a spacious open plan living space with a wood burner, which keeps the space cosy and welcoming in the winter. Patio doors lead off the living area to a patio and private garden space, which is ideal for spending time outside in the summer months. Upstairs you have two, well-proportioned and well-equipped double bedrooms, one with the ability to be set up as a twin room.

The Chicken Coop (UK12137) is all on one level and has been finished to a high standard, and is the perfect getaway to kick back and relax in. You enter the property through a small porch and are instantly met by a large spacious kitchen area which is modern and fully equipped. The living area has a lovely wood burner which gives a glowing warmth to the property in the winter months. Both bedrooms are fitted with TV’s and offer a high level of comfort, and there is also a wet room giving easier access to facilities. Outside, there is a very large garden that is shared with one other property, but there is plenty of space for everyone to enjoy. There is also an interconnecting door that connects to The Old Granary, perfect for large groups.

The property is nestled in the village of Hewelsfield and there is plenty to see and do in the surrounding area. This border territory is marked by stunning scenery and has brooding castles at Chepstow and Raglan. Explore the market towns of Abergavenny and Monmouth, or enjoy excellent walking in the Forest of Dean and along the riverbank. Fishing, horse riding, cycling and canoeing are readily available. The grounds have access to some amazing walks and the enclosed 2-acre field is perfect for letting the dogs off their leads. There are open ponds and steep slopes all round, so children must be supervised at all times. The property boasts a downstairs entrance way designed for bringing the dogs into, after washing them off outside with the warm water hose, and is also suitable for hanging coats and leaving boots.

Venture a little further you will find the Cotswold’s Way rambling paths that snake all the way though the quintessential Cotswold’s villages, where you will find traditional country pubs, chocolate box houses and even the odd ’duck race’ if you arrive on the right day! The great cities of Bath, Cardiff and Bristol are all witihin driving distance - you will never be short of something to do here.

Claysun House has an abundance of space inside and out, perfect for all the family, young and old. This stunning four bedroom, four bathroom detached home is nestled within the Forest of Dean. Claysun House is spaciously spread over three floors. An impressive hallway greets you upon arrival, and a cosy living area complete with feature wood burner can be found off the main entrance, a great space for some quiet time and glass of something nice. Also on the entrance level is a double bedroom with en-suite shower and toilet. On the second floor you’ll find the final three bedrooms, two doubles, one with an en-suite shower and toilet and one with an en-suite bathroom with roll-top bath, shower attachment and toilet, lastly is the master bedroom with a kingsize bed and en-suite shower and toilet.
The heart and hub of the house can be found downstairs from the entrance level, on the ground floor. The open plan aspect makes for a truly sociable space that brings everyone together. This fabulous barn conversion which has been renovated over 2019/2020 is an ideal place for friends or larger families. Set in Bream, the property is a great base for exploring the Forest of Dean.

Box Tree Cottage has been renovated to a high standard in 2021. Located in Blakeney in The Forest of Dean, it is an ideal location for exploring the beautiful area. This is a fantastic area for those who want to escape to the countryside. You won’t get bored exploring local forests, whether cycling through the many trails or admiring the views on foot. You might like to jump on the train and head 45-minutes away to Cardiff for shopping and dining out. For a great day out, be sure to visit Gloucester Cathedral, a must see for Harry Potter fans! Or for a change of pace enjoy some shopping in Cheltenham or Bristol.
Other outdoor activities include canoeing at Symonds Yat, walking through Clearwell Caves hidden under the forest floor and Go Ape at Beechenhurst. There is plenty for children to explore, such as a magical day at Puzzlewood, take a trip on the steam railways or visit the Butterfly Trail in nearby Ross-on-Wye. Box Tree Cottage has a large, enclosed garden overlooking the forest, ideal for pets and fabulous for sitting and listening to the local wildlife whist the sun goes down.
Box Tree cottage consists of a large open plan kitchen/dining room with exposed stone walls and beams, well-equipped with everything you could need during your stay, including a washing machine for muddy clothes. The dining area has a double fronted wood burner and can be seen from both the dining area and living room. The large living room features patio doors leading to the garden, a Smart TV and wood burner, again with beams and exposed stone walls. On the first floor there is a super kingsize bedroom with zip and link bed, a twin room, and a family bathroom with roll-top bath and a shower cubicle.

Rivendell is a detached bungalow with incredible views over the Severn Estuary. The property consists of a well-equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, and an open plan living/dining area with Freeview TV, and a cosy open fire. There is also a family bathroom and three bedrooms, comprising a single bedroom, a twin bedroom, and a master double bedroom. Outside you will find an enclosed garden with a lawn, flower beds, seating areas, and a summerhouse. Access to a lower lawn with an orchard is down steps or a sloping grass path. A handrail is provided for use as necessary.
Walks can be had directly from the garden out into the forest. The Forest of Dean is bordered by the Wye Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the River Severn. In this compact area, there are outdoor activities in abundance including horse riding, golf, fishing, mountain biking trails from easy to extreme, canoeing, kayaking, and rock climbing. All about 10-20 minutes away. Chepstow and Goodrich Castles and Tintern Abbey are interesting historical sites for all ages. Blakeney village is just a few minutes away by car and walkable in about 10 minutes. Amenities include a post office/newsagents, general store, pub, fish and chip shop, church, bus stop, and surgery.
The cathedral city of Gloucester, Monmouth, Chepstow, and the pretty market town on Ross-on-Wye are all within a short drive. Regency Cheltenham and The Cotswolds, The Malvern Hills, The Cathedral City of Hereford (with the famous Mappa Mundi), and The Black Mountains of Wales are also all just an easy day’s drive away.
