With breath-taking views from the arch windows and fabulous attention to detail throughout, this truly is a wonderful countryside retreat for families, friends, or couples to enjoy some relaxation together, spending time within an area of tranquillity but close enough to all amenities. Haybale Barn is set on a small new development of converted farm buildings and has plenty of cosy seating, high open beamed ceilings, and a large dining table to gather after cooking in the well-equipped kitchen. Downstairs you will find two double bedrooms with outstanding views, one of which has an en-suite walk-in shower room. Head upstairs where there are a further two well-presented bedrooms, comprising of a king size bedroom with another en-suite walk-in shower room, and a triple bedroom, each promising a delightful space to wake up to each morning. Upstairs is the main family bathroom with a modern bath and overhead rain shower. Head outside to the garden with outstanding uninterrupted views over the Cheviot Hills, a truly idyllic sun trap. Head into Chatton: a gorgeous country village nestled in the pretty Northumbrian Valley, bordered by the Cheviots. The local hotel and restaurant serving excellent food, a well-stocked village store and Chatton art gallery compliment the quaint village atmosphere. Keen walkers are sure to be impressed by St Cuthberts Way, a 100-kilometre long-distance trail between the Scottish Borders town of Melrose and Lindisfarne off the coast of Northumberland, named after a 7th-century saint. The nearby town of Wooler is set along the last leg of the journey, so you needn’t traverse the full length. Wooler itself is just under 4 miles away and features a good range of shops, pubs, restaurants, and facilities. If you fancy something exciting, why not visit Chillingham Castle, only a short drive away, and book onto one of their ghost tours! Why not try something a little different? Discover your inner country-self and try clay pigeon shooting at Fowberry Moor Farm in Wooler, where they also offer wine tasting!
A 20-minute drive brings you to the popular village of Bamburgh a stunningly attractive small village set on the northern stretch of the Northumberland Coast. It is without doubt dominated by its magnificently striking castle that can be seen for miles around. Why not hit the waves yourself with a trip to the Farne Islands? Take a boat trip from Seahouses and see the Medieval Pele Tower and Victorian Lighthouse, as well as the famous seabird colony. Depending on the time of year, you might catch a glimpse of the friendly seals and puffins that visit the islands’ shores. Golfers flock to Bamburgh, where the Bamburgh Castle Golf Club offers a particularly picturesque round. It’s short but tough and boasts some of the best views in the country! Haybale Barn is an ideal base for exploring the moors and coastline in this diverse friendly county where you will be sure of a really warm Northumbrian welcome. Beach 9¾ miles.

This stylish, detached, converted barn is just a few hundred yards from the heart of Chipping Campden. As the main town in the north-western area of the Cotswolds of high hills and secluded coomb (with its magnificent ’wool’ church, wide market street and beautiful buildings that span at least five centuries), this would make the perfect base from which to tour and explore. With an acre of grounds and ample parking for visitors, Campden Barn offers a high level of comfort with limestone flooring in bathrooms and underfloor heating on both floors of the property.
The magnificent gardens of Kiftsgate Court and Hidcote Manor - with its lovely views over the Vale of Evesham - are not to be missed, as well as many other National Trust properties in the locality; Stratford-upon-Avon (approximately 8 miles), shops, restaurants and pubs, 200 yards.

Carr House farmhouse is set on a working farm, but only minutes away from the attractions of Scarborough and only 1½ miles from the well known surfing beach at Cayton Bay, which also welcomes dog walkers throughout the year. Visitors of all ages will enjoy the large landscaped gardens with a summerhouse, apple trees and barbecue, with a perimeter fence making it ideal for both children and pets. This detached farmhouse is ideal for touring the North Yorkshire coast, from Whitby in the north to Bridlington in the south. A short journey inland takes you to the North York Moors, ’Heartbeat’ Country and Pickering for the steam railway, whilst York for its historic attractions is less than an hour away.

For activities nearby there is Dalby Forest for cycling and tree climbing, Wykeham Lakes for fishing, or the many beaches which offer the chance to just relax, sail, surf, sunbathe, paddle, and build sandcastles. Scarborough is a vibrant seaside resort with lots of family attractions, such as the waterpark, Sealife Centre and crazy golf, as well as a funfair, ice-cream parlours, amusements, and donkey rides. Further afield, take a trip to the beautiful west coast and the Isle of Skye or a day trip to the Orkney Islands is well worth the effort. Visit the Moray coastline peppered with little fishing villages and beautiful beaches – voted in the top 20 of the best coastline destinations in the world. This is an area with so much to offer, see and do for all ages. For the less energetic, you can sit back by the side of the wood burner or soak in the hot tub and let the stresses of everyday life slip away. The Owl Barn is in a secluded spot, at a Hobby Farm within the owner’s grounds, there are chickens, turkey’s and ducks on site – Children are welcome to help with egg collection. Up to two well behaved dogs (kept on leads) are welcome (more dogs can be agreed with the owner before booking) and there are also dog kennels provided adjacent to the property in a shady spot, if you wish to go out for the day, sole use for Owl Barn guests. An enclosed horse paddock is also available for dogs to run free, horses accepted by request and private arrangement. Perfect for nature lovers, the owner offers access to a tranquil private nature walk within their grounds. Where you can enjoy the local nature. There is a pond and river at the end of the grounds, so please pay attention to warning signs and always supervise children and dogs. There are owl boxes in the trees with fitted cameras, which you will soon be able to view.
Conveniently placed, in the Norfolk village – Saham Toney, next door to an 18 hole Golf course and within a 5-minute drive to Watton, for all essential shops. Local pub within 1 mile. If you would like to explore the local area, Thetford Forest for high lodge forest adventure, Go Ape high ropes course and lots of great cycling and walking routes are just a 30-minute drive. Or take a trip to the stunning North Norfolk Coast and visit the long stretches of sandy beaches in traditional seaside towns, located within an hour’s drive. Situated in a peaceful location, Cwm Hyfryd is aptly name as it translates to ’delightful valley’. Step outside and you have a garden to enjoy, simply discover the many lanes and footpaths nearby. The small village of Cross Inn offers a pub and a village store. The nearest pretty secluded cove and beach at Cwmtydu can be reached within 3 miles, renowned for legends of smugglers and pirates, and where today, seals come to have their pups in early autumn. The unspoilt Ceredigion Coastal Path takes you over cliffs and through ancient woodland. The paths offer excellent walking opportunities and connect all the local beaches, many of which are dog friendly all year round if you are bringing your four-legged friend.
Delightful New Quay is also 2¼ miles away with its picturesque houses, pubs and restaurants. The town clings to the side of the hills rising above the blue waters of Cardigan Bay. It’s easy to understand why this area was such an inspiration to poet Dylan Thomas when he lived here. Often bottlenose dolphins can be spotted, and in season, dolphin survey boat trips are available from the sheltered harbour, or you can just enjoy the sandy beach, have an ice cream or fish and chips and watch the boats bobbing about.
Visit the colourful Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron, the ancient town of Cardigan with its castle, or Aberystwyth with its promenade and pier, home to the world’s longest working electric cliff railway.

The moment you approach this beautifully converted chapel you know you’re in store for a lovely stay in a unique property. The large wooden chapel doors open to reveal a big hallway with a couple of rooms leading off to the sides. You come to a useful study room first which offers a little privacy or peace, and the opposite is a utility room providing the perfect place to dry and feed the dog, dry wet coats after a busy day’s walking in the Lakes. A second set of doors opens into an impressive, Instagram-worthy living space, with high vaulted ceilings, large leaded windows, and oak beams.
Once you catch your breath, you can take in the large kitchen with all the amenities and space required to cater anything from a simple sandwich to a family feast. The breakfast bar is the ideal place to watch the chef show off their skills whilst enjoying a glass of wine before moving the feast to the large dining table, where you could easily imagine you were starring in an epic movie during a medieval banquet.

The iconic Coniston Water is just 10 miles away, offering a great location for wild swimming, paddleboarding or kayaking for those water enthusiasts. Alternatively, within a short drive, you can enjoy the world-famous Windermere water offering Lakeside towns to explore with an excellent range of independent shops, restaurants, pubs, or attractions like The World of Beatrix Potter. Take a lake cruise or hire your motorboat to enjoy this vast expanse of water.
