Wooler itself is just under 4 miles away and features a good range of shops, pubs, restaurants, and facilities. A 20-minute drive brings you to the popular village of Bamburgh a stunningly attractive small village set on the northern stretch of the Northumberland Coast. It is without doubt dominated by its magnificently striking castle that can be seen for miles around. Why not hit the waves yourself with a trip to the Farne Islands? Take a boat trip from Seahouses and see the Medieval Pele Tower and Victorian Lighthouse, as well as the famous seabird colony. Depending on the time of year, you might catch a glimpse of the friendly seals and puffins that visit the islands’ shores. Golfers flock to Bamburgh, where the Bamburgh Castle Golf Club offers a particularly picturesque round. It’s short but tough and boasts some of the best views in the country! Haybale Barn is an ideal base for exploring the moors and coastline in this diverse friendly county where you will be sure of a really warm Northumbrian welcome. Beach 9¾ miles.

This stylish, detached, converted barn is just a few hundred yards from the heart of Chipping Campden. As the main town in the north-western area of the Cotswolds of high hills and secluded coomb (with its magnificent ’wool’ church, wide market street and beautiful buildings that span at least five centuries), this would make the perfect base from which to tour and explore. With an acre of grounds and ample parking for visitors, Campden Barn offers a high level of comfort with limestone flooring in bathrooms and underfloor heating on both floors of the property.
The magnificent gardens of Kiftsgate Court and Hidcote Manor - with its lovely views over the Vale of Evesham - are not to be missed, as well as many other National Trust properties in the locality; Stratford-upon-Avon (approximately 8 miles), shops, restaurants and pubs, 200 yards.

The Owl Barn is in a secluded spot, at a Hobby Farm within the owner’s grounds, there are chickens, turkey’s and ducks on site – Children are welcome to help with egg collection. Up to two well behaved dogs (kept on leads) are welcome (more dogs can be agreed with the owner before booking) and there are also dog kennels provided adjacent to the property in a shady spot, if you wish to go out for the day, sole use for Owl Barn guests. An enclosed horse paddock is also available for dogs to run free, horses accepted by request and private arrangement. Perfect for nature lovers, the owner offers access to a tranquil private nature walk within their grounds. Where you can enjoy the local nature. There is a pond and river at the end of the grounds, so please pay attention to warning signs and always supervise children and dogs. There are owl boxes in the trees with fitted cameras, which you will soon be able to view.
Conveniently placed, in the Norfolk village – Saham Toney, next door to an 18 hole Golf course and within a 5-minute drive to Watton, for all essential shops. Local pub within 1 mile. The unspoilt Ceredigion Coastal Path takes you over cliffs and through ancient woodland. The paths offer excellent walking opportunities and connect all the local beaches, many of which are dog friendly all year round if you are bringing your four-legged friend.
Delightful New Quay is also 2¼ miles away with its picturesque houses, pubs and restaurants. The town clings to the side of the hills rising above the blue waters of Cardigan Bay. It’s easy to understand why this area was such an inspiration to poet Dylan Thomas when he lived here. Often bottlenose dolphins can be spotted, and in season, dolphin survey boat trips are available from the sheltered harbour, or you can just enjoy the sandy beach, have an ice cream or fish and chips and watch the boats bobbing about.
