The Lliw resevoirs and Cwm Clydach nature reserve are in walking distance as is the village and local pubs. Swansea, Mumbles and the Gower beaches are a short drive away from the property. Porthcawl is one of South Wales’ most popular seaside towns, with great beaches, a theatre, The Grand Pavillion and an amusement park. The town is much loved and has a welcoming and nostalgic feel to it. There is something on offer for everyone, with activities for all ages. There are sandy and rocky beaches to explore where you can build yourself a sandcastle, or simply sit and enjoy the views. Rest Bay Beach is particularly popular for surfers, swimmers and body boarders and is home to a water activity centre where you can book lessons or hire some kit and go and catch the waves.
You can horse ride on the beach and track across the sand dunes, or simply enjoy the coastline with a leisurely walk along the coastal path. The bustling front has lots to offer in terms of entertainment, whether you are browsing local shops and boutiques, visiting the amusement park, or heading to the pavilion to see a show. There are lots of choices for dining in Porthcawl with many independent pubs, a lovely array of restaurants and cafés to choose from. Just a short drive from Cwm Yr Wch will get you to some of the gorgeous beaches, including Oxwich Bay or Three Cliffs Bay only being 15 minutes away. In just 20 minutes you could drive to Swansea or The Mumbles. Swansea is the second biggest city in Wales and has lots to offer including leisure activities, shopping centres, theatre, and cinemas as well as an abundance of places to eat and drink! The Mumbles is traditional fishing town full of history, with a Victorian pier, a lighthouse built in 1794 and Oystermouth Castle. The bustling, boutique high street here has lots of independent shops, cafés and restaurants as well as some familiar favourite restaurants.

The property has full wheelchair access and ramp level access to the ground floor, there is a ground floor double room and walk-in shower for those with reduced mobility. Both Neath town centre and Swansea are easily accessible being approximately 4-5 miles from the property.
The Neath Valley in South Wales is an increasingly popular area for UK holidays. The location lends itself well to those looking to explore the diverse countryside of the area. With cycle paths and walking trails on your doorstep, there is plenty to explore.
The valley is home to some of Wales’s most impressive waterfalls, including Aberdulais, Melincourt, Pontneddfechan and Sgwd yr Eira. Impressive hills will keep you busy, head to Afan Forest Park, 20 minutes away, for hilly bike trails or Penyfan in the Brecon Beacons, which is the tallest peak in South Wales.
For family fun days out, the National Showcaves Centre for Wales at Dan yr Ogof, The National Botanic Gardens, Folly Farm, quad biking and Zip World are firm favourites in the area. Aberavon beach is 8½ miles away, or visit the famous beaches of the Gower Peninsula, The Mumbles and Swansea Bay are all within 40 minutes or less. Pendine sands, Tenby, Carmarthen, Bridgend (McArthur Glen Designer Outlet Village), Cardiff, Newport, Prince of Wales Stadium are all within an hour’s drive. The Penderyn Whisky distillery is under 30 minutes away where tours are available. Multiple local golf courses are available as is some of the best Salmon and Sewin (Seatrout) fishing in the UK on the rivers Towy, Teifi, Gwilli and Cothi, a personal ghillie can even be arranged for you. It is a perfect base for anyone wishing to fish the Golden Grove or Abercothi Estates waters. Other coarse and flyfishing lakes and reservoirs are also available. Horse riding with a local equestrian centre is also available.
All in all you could not find a more centrally located place for a holiday in South Wales.

A short walk from Morfa House and you can enjoy a host of eateries, shopping centres, Parks and even a brewery specialising in welsh ales close by.
