The decking, which is for sole use of guests, looks over the communal courtyard, which features a lovely lantern. For the grown-up kids, there is a snug mezzanine area reached by a fixed ladder, the perfect place for chilling out. There are two bedrooms, one with a kingsize bed and the second with a single bed and pull-out trundle that can be made up as two singles or a double bed; there is also a ‘secret’ sleeping space with cabin-style bed accessed by a fixed ladder in this room.
Bramley is a lovely large village in north Hampshire boasting its own railway station, which is just a 10-minute walk from Lantern Lodge and connects you to Basingstoke and Reading. The village also offers a great bakery and pub. You can reach the larger towns of Basingstoke, 5 miles away, and Reading, 10 miles away, quite easily and they boast an array of local amenities, shopping, and a choice of eateries. There is much to explore in this area including The Vyne, a historic National Trust property, less than a mile away, which hosts events and outdoor concerts in its stunning grounds. Silchester Roman ruins, less than 4 miles away - a great dog walk too; Wellington country park, an award-winning destination for a family day out, Wellington farm shop and café selling locally sourced produce, both within 4 miles, Highclere Castle; made famous by the filming of Downton Abbey is 16 miles away. The Cathedral and medieval city of Winchester are 24 miles away, Ascot with its famous Racecourse 22 miles away and Royal Windsor is 29 miles away.

Forest Lodge is situated in an idyllic setting in a quiet corner of the New Forest, enjoying direct forest access which is home to an abundance of wildlife. Stabling and grazing are available for 2 horses on site, with prior arrangement with the owner and there is a grassy children’s play area with football goalposts, rugby posts and other games. The New Forest National Park offers thousands of acres of moor, heath and woodlands, where ponies and cattle roam free, and is perfect for walking, cycling and riding. You may also see wild deer, foxes, badgers and rabbits. The New Forest is a genuine walker’s paradise and also a fantastic place for cycling, with miles of traffic free tracks. Farm shops, pubs, tea rooms, an excellent restaurant and a church are within 5 minutes of the property. There is a riding school nearby offering hacks across the forest for both the beginner and more experienced rider. Forest Lodge is 4 miles from the market towns of Ringwood and Fordingbridge, and 12 miles from the historic city of Salisbury, with its magnificent cathedral and tallest spire in the UK. The coastal resorts and sandy beaches of Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch are approximately 15 miles away. Coarse fishing is available on the nearby River Avon. The pebbled beach opposite is great for swimming (if brave enough to take the plunge!) and fishing. As the tide goes out you’ll be able to spot adults and children in the rockpools crabbing. Lee-on-the-Solent is the home of the hovercraft, find out the history for yourself at the Hovercraft Museum, which is open to the public on Saturdays. Along with this there is the local St Faiths Church of England Parish and Lee-on-the-Solent High Street which, has an abundance of local businesses including a bakery, coffee shops, wine merchants, beauty salons, vintage shops and many more!
Gosport is the next town along which has a foot passenger ferry (every 15 minutes, or 7 minutes during peak times). It takes about 4 minutes on the ferry to get across to the historic Portsmouth harbour with its cosmopolitan feel and extensive shopping including designer outlets, as well as waterside dining, a comedy club, leisure complex, nightclubs, museums, galleries and city tours by foot or boat. Whilst over in Portsmouth visit the Spinnaker Tower for the views or enjoy a meal at the cloud or waterfront café’s, visit the Olde Towne, Gunwharf Quays, the dockyard where you can visit HMS Victory and HMS Warrior. You can also take a ferry across to the Isle of Wight for a great day out!

The popular sailing town of Lymington is only a 5-minute drive, with its pretty harbour, cobbled pedestrianised streets, boutiques, eateries, pubs and day trips to Isle of Wight by ferry. Other places of interest include Beaulieu Motor Museum, Bucklers Hard, Marwell Zoo, Peppa Pig at Paultons Park, New Forest Owl and Otter Park and Southampton, to name but a few. The property is also within easy reach of many beaches, including Mudeford, Sandbanks, Poole and Bournemouth, the nearest beach being less than two miles away. There is a local convenience shop a 2-minute drive away (800 yards) and a local pub and restaurant within walking distance (600 yards).

The owners have an annex in the grounds where they often stay, one end of which is just a few yards away from Silverland’s back door, but they have their own entrance, drive, car park and garden, all separate to Silverland. All the windows and doors of the annex are double glazed, kept closed and have blackout blinds and curtains drawn to ensure your privacy. Unless you need the owner’s assistance for anything, you will not see them from arrival to departure, but they are happy to help if necessary - the choice is yours.

Located on the beautiful seaside town of Hayling Island, 15-minute walk from the beach. Framingham has three bedrooms, one with a kingsize bed, another with a double and the third bedroom with zip and link beds that can be made up as two singles or a super kingsize. Perfectly designed for families or friends. There are two living rooms both with Smart TV’s, a large dining area that leads to a fully equipped kitchen, utility area and downstairs toilet. The large garden is the perfect spot to enjoy a few garden games or relax in the summer sun, with plenty of space for the whole family to enjoy. The garage has space to store bikes, canoes or paddle boards.
Hayling Island is a great destination for a family holiday, there are several beautiful beaches where you can enjoy sunbathing, swimming, or building sandcastles. Just a short walk to Funland Amusement Park with a variety of rides and attractions plus a soft play area for younger children. Why not take a ride on the Hayling Seaside Railway, which runs from Beachlands to Eastoke Corner, a great way to see the island and enjoy the sea views. There’s a network of cycle paths that run through the beautiful countryside and along the coast, well known for its water sports, you can try your hand at windsurfing, kitesurfing, or stand-up paddleboarding. There are several water sports centres on the island that offer lessons and equipment rental. If you fancy a night off from cooking, there are plenty of places to dine out including a restaurant just a 5-minute walk away and a chip shop only 7 minutes away. There is an array of independent shops including butchers, greengrocer, baker, post office and a choice of supermarkets on the island. Further afield Visit Portsmouth with waterside dining, ferry trips to the Isle of Wight, designer outlets, Natural History Museum, Spinnaker Tower, and the HMS Victor. With a spacious living room with a wood burner, and an open plan kitchen/diner with with picture window overlooking the garden and New Forest National Park beyond, this is the perfect choice for friends or families to use as a base to explore this stunning part of the country. This fantastic cottage is in the peaceful village of Woodgreen, and you are very likely to see horses, donkeys and cattle (and during Panage, wild pigs) wandering past your front gate. Woodgreen is a charming village situated on the north west edge of the New Forest National Park. Woodgreen Common is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest, and there are many walks and cycle rides that can be undertaken directly from the cottage. Woodgreen also boasts a wonderful village pub, serving traditional British cuisine, which is an easy, level walk from the cottage (make sure you have a torch for the way home), and there is also a delightful community-run village store and post office.
The neighbouring market town of Fordingbridge has a pub on the river and a great grocer shop for local produce; there is also an organic farm shop close by with its own café. Fordingbridge is known for its medieval bridge with five arches, and has many local shops, boutiques, eateries and a church. Nearby there is a waterpark, which offers wakeboarding, sailing, fishing and other water sports, and there is horse riding and golf in the area too.
Thirty minutes or so to the south, you will find beautiful sandy beaches at Southbourne, Bournemouth and Sandbanks. Other places to visit include Moors Valley, Christchurch Harbour and Dorset Heavy Horse Farm. The historic cathedral cities of Winchester and Salisbury are within a short drive away and are well worth a visit. Family days out include Marwell Zoo, Beaulieu Motor Museum, Monkey World and Adventure Wonderland.
