Cefnaire Isaf bursts with character, charm and facilities including a large projector/cinema screen with surround sound, perfect for family nights in. This is also wonderful walking and birdwatching country with numerous activities available nearby including golf, fishing and riding - a perfect location for exploring the borderlands of England and Wales, southern Snowdonia and Aberystwth’s seaside attractions. These three very attractive detached holiday lodges (refs W43690, W43691 and W43692) are set together in a small cluster in the most peaceful location on the edge of Llangunllo near Knighton. The lodges boast their own private hot tubs and sit in 2 acres of grounds. The original Mill Race wet area is inside the grounds, which may be wet or dry depending on the weather. Knighton is an area best known for its association with Offa’s Dyke, but due to the town being partly in Wales and partly in Shropshire, there are many nearby attractions, including, in Wales, the red kite feeding station, the Judges Lodgings, Spaceguard Centre, Elan Valley and Powys Castle. In Shropshire, nearby places include The Secret Hills Discovery Centre, Acton Scott Working Farm, Clun, Stokesay, Ludlow Castle, Ludlow Racecourse, Attingham Park and Ironbridge. This gorgeous, semi-detached cottage, situated in the village of Llangattock, overlooking the River Usk, has been restored to a high standard with your comfort in mind. The ground floor of the property compromises a large kitchen and an open plan living/dining room with a wood burner. Upstairs you will find three lovingly furnished bedrooms, one with the added benefit of en-suite facilities, as well as a family bathroom. The outside of the property has an enclosed garden with lawned area, as well as a patio area complete with a private Jacuzzi. There is also a barbecue and for those who enjoy cooking there is a pizza oven. Adjacent to the garden you will find a garage to store bikes and any outdoor equipment. This is also used as a games room and features a table tennis table, pool table and dart board and two arcade games. There is a hot outdoor shower near the hot tub.
Honeycott lies within walking distance of the historic town of Crickhowell, named the 2019 ’best place to live in Wales’ by the Sunday Times, and also ’best high street in Britain’ 2018. There is an array of amenities there including boutiques, coffee shops and restaurants. For those who enjoy music festivals, Crickhowell is home to the Green Man during August. The town of Abergavenny is 6 miles away and there you will find some fine dining restaurants, including the Michelin-starred Walnut Tree Inn and The Hardwick Restaurant owned by chef Stephen Terry. The town is host to the annual food festival in September. Brecon is just 14 miles away from Honeycott and has lots of places of interest to visit such as the Welsh Regimental Museum and Brecon Cathedral, and it is also home to a jazz festival every August. For those wanting to explore the area on foot, Pen Y Fan, South Wales’ highest peak, offers great opportunities. Sugar Loaf Mountain also nearby and is the southernmost of the peaks in the Black Mountain Range. Bay Cottage is set in the grounds of Coytrahen House, an 18th-century landscaped park with a Georgian country house. The park is mostly woodland and offers 42 acres to explore. Bay Cottage is detached and sits just behind the main country house. The cottage has a modern feel with a touch of country style and the luxury finish throughout makes for a comfortable and relaxing place to stay.
Accommodating up to four guests, there are two good-sized bedrooms, both with en-suite shower rooms. The open plan living accommodation boasts two living areas, a dining space and a fully equipped kitchen. The living areas have been set up to make the most of the property, one area to sit back relax in and enjoy views of the countryside, the other with a Smart TV to chill out to, perfect to enjoy a movie night after a day exploring. The dining area is central as you enter the cottage, a perfect space for getting together in to enjoy a meal, socialise, or play some board games. The country-style kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to enjoy your stay, including full cooking facilities, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and coffee machine. Outside, the cottage sits on a 42-acre plot of mostly woodland; feel free to get out and explore this gorgeous countryside. Keep an eye out for the goats too – you may see them bouncing on their trampoline! What makes this property truly relaxing is the outdoor area, there is a patio area with BBQ, and outdoor seating as well as a four person hot tub.
The 42-acre plot is based in Coytrahen, Bridgend; you’ll find a local pub in the village, and more in neighbouring towns and villages around the borough. Bridgend County Borough has lots to explore, including historical sites, country parks and the heritage coast, a designer shopping outlet and some fantastic independent restaurants around the county. So whether you fancy a day at the beach, or want to indulge in some local history, or even a day of retail therapy followed by some quality dining, it’s all there to enjoy.
If you want to see more of South Wales Bay Cottage is a great base… road access for South Wales is good, with the M4 motorway a short drive away. Head west for Swansea and the famous Gower Peninsula Area Of National Beauty or Pembrokeshire coast. Or a short drive east will get you to Cardiff, Wales’ capital city. Cardiff is home to all kinds of events year round, including international sports, musical superstars, and much more! Within an hour’s drive you could also find yourself in the famous Welsh valleys, where you’ll find waterfall walks (where some famous movie scenes have been filmed), or the Brecon Beacons at the foot of the tallest peak in South Wales, Penyfan.
