With stunning scenery and lots of charming country pubs, the Ribble Valley is perfect for walkers and cyclists. The Forest of Bowland, which is one of the UK’s designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, covers over 300 square miles of rural Lancashire, and North Yorkshire is right on the doorstep. These two superb lodges The View (UK36812) and Lake View (UK36811) can be found set around three beautiful lakes on Pendle View Holiday Park in the heart of the Ribble Valley and located at the foot of Pendle Hill. Brand new in 2022, they’re both tastefully furnished with the living space open plan and sociable by design, and complete with everything needed to make your stay a comfortable and memorable one. Each lodge has a Bosch coffee machine which uses Tassimo coffee pods (initial supply included), a picnic table in the rear decking area, a rattan sofa set in the front decking area and a storage box at the back of the lodge that will fit 2-3 bikes.

Boasting spectacular views of Pendle Hill and the stunning surrounding Lancashire countryside, the site was previously a renowned fishery and quite wonderfully guests staying within the lodges have exclusive fishing rights, as well as access to the lakes for leisure purposes.
A popular and scenic area, Pendle Hill is within easy reach of the site as is the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which offers ample opportunity for remote walking and cycling away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. A quiet location set back off the A59, an easy 30-minute journey will take you to the city of Preston in one direction and historic Skipton and the Yorkshire Dales National Park in the other.
Local amenities that are literally over the road from the park include numerous eateries, a petrol station and a Co-op supermarket for necessary provisions. Just 1 mile away are the villages of Barrow and Whalley. Whalley has the stunning abbey numerous shops, pubs, eateries and The Whalley Wine Shop (that won the Decanter Award for the ‘Best Local Wine Shop 2021’ in the country). The ancient market town of Clitheroe is just 2 miles away, here you’ll find a Castle and plethora of specialist shops including an enormous underground wine cellar! Clitheroe Golf Club is just half a mile from the park, and for a change of scenery why not visit the Lake District which is whithin a hours drive. The Fylde Coast which includes Blackpool and Lytham St Annes can be reached within 45 minutes. For the younger members there are lots of excellent local attractions to suit all ages such as The Wild Boar Park at Chipping, Paint Pot in Clitheroe and Outdoor Elements in Read.

The Fylde coastal resorts of Blackpool, Lytham, St Annes and Cleveleys can be reached in around a 20-minute drive and between them is much to see and do. In wonderfully cosmopolitan Lytham there is a variety of bars, cafés, boutique shops and restaurants, and in St Annes you will find a beautiful sandy beach with colourful beach huts. The area is internationally famous for golf and the towns also host various events throughout the year, including the Lytham Proms and St Annes Kite Festival. Blackpool needs little introduction with its many attractions including the famous tower, Madame Tussauds Waxworks, the Sealife Centre, Pleasure Beach and Blackpool Zoo. For a change of scenery the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which is much loved for its stunning countryside and picturesque villages, can be reached in about half an hour. Holden is situated less than a mile from the historic village of Bolton-by-Bowland, first recorded in the Doomsday book in the 11th Century, where you can find the celebrated Coach and Horses serving good food and locally crafted beers, or you can spoil yourself at the Coach House Beauty Retreat. This wonderful area offers an array of activities, walks over the fells and through endless green fields with a wide variety of local pubs serving food to satisfy a weary walkers belly. The winding country lanes take you through the Ribble Valley, Trough of Bowland and onto the Yorkshire Dales, Lake District and Fylde Coast making this a mecca for cyclists and walkers of all abilities. Nearby Gisburn Forest has an abundance of walking and cycling routes as well as some fantastic fishing on the stocks reservoir that surrounds it. Pendle Hill has some great hikes for the more hardy of walkers and for those seeking a challenge, the Yorkshire Three Peaks, Ingleton Falls are also within easy reach. Other country pursuits such as horse riding, golf and even clay pigeon shooting are all offered close by.
The market town of Clitheroe, 7 miles, with its Norman Fort standing proud, has a fantastic selection of independent boutiques, restaurants and bars. Head to Holmes Mill and peruse the magnificent food hall for some local, seasonal produce. During your stay you can also treat yourself to a sumptuous tasting menu at the Michelin star restaurant Northcote Manor or indulge in a spa day at Stanley House. Skipton, known as the gateway to the Dales, 14 miles, is another great day out with shops, restaurants and cafes dotted along cobbled streets running alongside the canal. Then drive on a few more miles to the beautiful village of Grassington, where they recently filmed All Creatures Great and Small, filled with local boutiques, cafes and restaurants.
