Nestling on the hillside with wonderful views across the River Garry, this traditional stone built cottage is now a holiday home peacefully located in a tranquil setting. It comprises a comfortable and cosy living room with warming and welcoming wood burner, and a well-equipped kitchen and dining room with all essentials for rustling up your favourite dish. A bunk bedroom with an extra bunk bed for flexible sleeping arrangements, and a family bathroom are also located on the ground floor. Go up the wooden stairs to find two further bedrooms, one with a super kingsize bed which can be twin beds, again for flexible sleeping arrangements, and another bedroom with a double bed.
Conveniently situated on the road to the Isle of Skye and the Outer Hebrides, it makes a perfect base for touring the Highlands and West Coast of Scotland, or simply just relax and enjoy the beauty of the area.
For nature lovers, wildlife is in abundance and golden eagles, deer, pine martens and otters are often spotted. Don’t forget to pack your binoculars.
Other activities including mountain biking, walking, canoeing and climbing are all available locally, as is fishing for life at a more leisurely pace. Within easy reach is Loch Ness - you’ll be glad you brought your binoculars for some monster spotting! Also within easy reach is Fort William with Britain’s highest mountain towering over 4000ft above sea level. Inverness and the Isle of Skye are also easily accessed and both hold diverse attractions of their own. Be sure to be well stocked up with provisions as the shop is 17 miles away. Newly renovated in December 2022 to a luxury standard with a large kitchen boasting top end appliances, stunning new bathrooms with under floor heating, comfortable new bedrooms with lots of storage and an updated living/dining area with three huge sofas and coffee table, a snug with a desk, bean bags and games, and a large dining table with plenty of seating to suit everyone’s needs.
This stunning, detached, lodge property enjoys a peaceful and private location approximately a mile outside the forest village of Nethy Bridge, and makes the perfect base for exploring this lovely part of the northern Highlands. Sitting on the edge of the ancient Scottish Caledonian Forest, the lodge overlooks moorland and mountains with abundant wildlife which includes red squirrels, mountain hares, red and roe deer, and many species of song birds can often be heard in this secluded setting.
Mountain Bear Lodge is 12 miles from Aviemore which is situated in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park and at the head of the Speyside Way. The whole area boasts a super range of shops, restaurants and bars along with a wide range of outdoor activities including skiing and snowboarding, (Cairngorm Mountains are within an hour’s drive. Glencoe and Glenshee are around 2½ hours’ drive) There is also mountain and quad biking, climbing and hill walking with a variety of water sports available on Loch Insh, Loch Morlich and the River Spey. Take a trip on the Cairngorm Mountain Railway or visit the Cairngorm Reindeer Centre, the Highland Wildlife Park at nearby Kingussie, the Landmark Forest Adventure Park or the RSPB Reserve at nearby Loch Garten, which are all within easy reach of the lodge.
Visit the testing Spey Valley golf course and the Dalfaber Resort with its wonderful array of leisure activities, or a day trip to the Moray coastline peppered with little fishing villages and beautiful beaches. For the less energetic, sit back in the hot tub set in peaceful garden grounds, relax and unwind. There’s a farm shop, pub and restaurant within 1 mile.

This studio cottage, a spacious detached holiday property, offers the holidaymaker cosy accommodation in a ’get away from it all’ location, especially as there is no mobile reception. Hill walking, river and loch fishing (permits available from the estate office), and an abundance of wildlife help to add to the enjoyment of this ’Brigadoon’ type glen. Inverness, the capital of the Highlands, is just 30 miles away, and Glacour Studio is ideally placed for touring the North West Highlands. Enjoying fabulous views across the Minch to the Isle of Skye, this comfortable detached holiday bungalow was updated in 2021 with a new kitchen and new sofa and chairs. It is just a few minutes’ walk from an unspoilt sandy beach, and only 9 miles from the pretty village of Gairloch, where the nearest shops are to be found. The nearest pub/restaurant is at Badachro, 3 miles away, but the wider area has many coffee shops and restaurants, along with other places of interest. Within easy reach of Skye, Ullapool, Plockton, Eilean Donan Castle and Inverness for day trips, this part of Wester Ross is famous for dolphins, whales and seabirds, and the area has beautiful beaches as well as being a superb area for climbing and hill walking, with the dramatic Torridon mountain range as a backdrop. Horse riding is also available at Red Point (3 miles), and there is a nine-hole golf course in Gairloch. Fishing opportunities are located nearby.

Known as the ’Gateway to the Highlands’, this vibrant urban centre is embraced by the serene waters of the Moray Firth and surrounded by rolling hills, making it a truly enchanting destination. The bustling Victorian Market offers a delightful array of shops, showcasing local crafts, fine foods, and unique treasures.

The Ivy Wing and The Cottage are situated in the courtyard of Barrock House, and surrounded by landscaped grounds and mature woodland. This provides shelter for an abundance of bird and wild life with pleasant walks close at hand and the scenic beaches of Sinclair and Dunnet Bay are just 5 minutes by car. The Cottage makes the perfect base for touring this unspoilt and tranquil part of the Highlands. Visit the Castle and Gardens of Mey, the Queen Mother’s Highland home, John O’Groats, Wick Heritage and Lyth Arts Centre, or take a wildlife or distillery tour. Golfing, fishing, sea trips or walking along the many miles of rugged coastline are just some of the many activities available. Lyth is situated just 10 miles north of Wick and 15 miles from Thurso, making the beautiful Orkney Isles easily accessible by car ferry for day trips. The Stable Cottage is an attractive, architect designed conversion of an historic Listed building, formerly a stable and grain loft for the old water mill which is situated close by.

The Stable Cottage and the nearby Mill Cottage (ref W42412) are situated approximately 200 yards from the sea and are within easy walking distance of the centre of the famous village of John O’ Groats. The ideal base to explore this lovely part of the Northern Highlands, John O’ Groats is famous for being the most north easterly point of Britain’s four corners, renowned for magnificent coastal scenery, unspoilt beaches and coastal walks. A breath-taking array of bird life is close at hand. Seals, dolphins, orca and minke whales are frequently seen. Even otters make an appearance, feeding on the rocky shoreline.

Take a day trip to the Orkney Islands with ferries a few minutes away from the cottages. Visit Duncansby Head, the Castle of Mey, Thurso and Wick. See the world class seabird colonies and the awe inspiring Stacks of Duncansby. For the energetic mountain biking, fishing, sailing and windsurfing are available. Both the Mill Cottage and the Stable Cottage are operated by the John O’ Groats Mill Trust, a charity aimed at maintaining these historic buildings for the benefit of visitors and the community.
