Staveley Park is a detached, Grade II listed property, set in its own grounds and offering spectacular views of the nearby woods, fells and countryside. Sleeping up to eight guests, it has four bedrooms. The second floor has a twin room with exposed beams and a contemporary en-suite shower room. On the first floor, the master bedroom features a four-poster super kingsize bed and an en-suite bathroom with bath and lovely garden views. Two further spacious bedrooms have kingsize beds and pleasant views to the grounds, whilst the main family bathroom offers a separate bath and walk-in shower. Here the River Gowan flows through the village and meets the River Kent, which provides a peaceful backdrop to the main street. Staveley is located just 12 miles off the M6, 4.5 miles from Kendal and 3.5 miles to Windermere and the popular tourist magnet of Bowness-on Windermere, offering a wide range of restaurants and gastropubs serving every possible type of cuisine you could want, from takeaway food to fine dining. Bassenthwaite, EnglandSituated in the beautiful village of Bassenthwaite you will find this wonderful, traditional holiday cottage nestled down a small lane. Jemima’s Cottage is a very comfortable, two-bedroom property which has a spacious open plan living/dining room with an open fire. There is a small, well-equipped kitchen. On the first floor there is a double bedroom, a bedroom with double bed and single bed and a family bathroom and an area on the landing with Beatrix Potter books and toys ideal for children.
Jemima’s Cottage is located in the heart of the village of Bassenthwaite in the northern region of the Lake District National Park, approximately a 15-minute drive from the towns of Keswick and Cockermouth. This is an excellent base to explore some of the quieter corners of the Lake District near a stream where puddle ducks wander to and fro and swings in a small, wooded area it is only a couple of minutes’ walk to the village pub serving local ales and meals and the village green which is ideal for playing ball games.
Bassenthwaite is 2 miles from the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake (an ideal walk to the only official lake in the Lake District!) and 2 miles from the foot of Skiddaw, the fourth highest mountain in the Lake District.
