Situated in a wonderful location where you can literally step out from the door and explore the wonderful landscapes of the New Forest, this detached holiday cottage makes the perfect spot for outdoor enthusiasts. Scenic walks, bridleways and cycling routes are in abundance, or enjoy watching the roaming ponies. This lovely family home stands peacefully overlooking fields to the rear, along a lane, about a mile from the centre of Burley and approximately 5 miles from the popular town of Ringwood. Inside, the light and airy open plan kitchen/dining room has an seating area, lovely oak floor, Rayburn and French doors that lead out to the garden. There is a separate cosy living room with an open fire, a single bedroom and a separate toilet on the ground floor too. On the first floor, three further bedrooms, all with sloping ceilings, have been decorated with neutral tones. The expansive gardens have an outside dining table and chairs, and there is parking for 3 cars.

The ever-popular village of Burley has a variety of gift shops, the Cider Store, ice cream parlours, tea rooms, pubs and eateries, as well as a bus stop for those looking to venture out without the car. Explore the New Forest National Park, where you can see the roaming ponies, donkeys and cattle, and enjoy off-road walking, riding and cycling. The popular sailing town of Lymington is about a 20-minute drive with ferry trips to the Isle of Wight, or meander along the cobbled streets with boutiques and eateries along the marina. Bournemouth and Poole, both with award-winning beaches, are within easy reach, as is the city of Salisbury with its medieval cathedral. There are many places of interest for the family including Marwell Zoo, New Forest Otter and Owl Wildlife Park, Beaulieu Motor Museum and Exbury Gardens to name but a few. Further afield but worth the trip, are Stonehenge, Monkey World, the Tank Museum near Wool, and Southampton with its maritime history and West Quay shopping centre. Alternatively spend a day exploring the unspoilt countryside of Dorset and famous World Heritage Jurassic Coast at West Bay, Bridport and onto Weymouth with its superb scenery and coastal walking. Alices Lodge is adjacent to the friendly owners home, and Picket Hill is a stones throw away. Both properties have been thoughtfully designed and tastefully co-ordinated, using relaxing colours and comfortable furnishings, with many personal touches including a welcome pack on arrival. The friendly owners who live adjacent do everything they can to ensure their guests have a pleasant and enjoyable stay.

Stroll across the beautifully maintained garden and through gates giving access directly to the New Forest National Park with its miles of heathland and network of walking and cycling trails. The location is near to both Hampshire and Dorset, making it an ideal location for exploring both popular counties. The UNESCO World Heritage Coastline is within easy driving distance, as are many popular attractions for all ages.

The quaint village of Burley with gift shops, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants is just 6 miles away, and the towns of Ringwood and Fordingbridge are also within easy reach. Explore the heathland and woodland of New Forest, covering 219 square miles which is abundant in wildlife and where the cattle, donkeys and ponies roam freely. The county of Hampshire itself was enjoyed by Jane Austen with her house and museum in Chawton and her resting place in Winchester Cathedral. Further afield but well worth a trip is Christchurch, Monkey World and the Tank Museum near Wool. With no close neighbours and surrounded by fields on all sides, the property has 4 acres of gardens, with the outdoor heated swimming pool (heated June, July and August) being the focal point of the rear garden, easily reached through two sets of large French doors from the spacious kitchen. There is also a large area for playing ball games, two other large lawns, a double barbecue and outdoor furniture. The owners have a separate annexe adjacent to the property.

The property is located just 3 miles from Lymington and within the New Forest National Park itself, which is a haven for wildlife, with many roaming ponies across the heathland, extensive walking, cycling and riding routes. There is plenty to do in the area for all ages, all year round. The popular sailing town of Lymington is only a 5-minute drive, with its pretty harbour, cobbled pedestrianised streets, boutiques, eateries, pubs and day trips to Isle of Wight by ferry. Other places of interest include Beaulieu Motor Museum, Bucklers Hard, Marwell Zoo, Peppa Pig at Paultons Park, New Forest Owl and Otter Park and Southampton, to name but a few. The property is also within easy reach of many beaches, including Mudeford, Sandbanks, Poole and Bournemouth, the nearest beach being less than two miles away. There is a local convenience shop a 2-minute drive away (800 yards) and a local pub and restaurant within walking distance (600 yards).

The owners have an annex in the grounds where they often stay, one end of which is just a few yards away from Silverland’s back door, but they have their own entrance, drive, car park and garden, all separate to Silverland. All the windows and doors of the annex are double glazed, kept closed and have blackout blinds and curtains drawn to ensure your privacy. Unless you need the owner’s assistance for anything, you will not see them from arrival to departure, but they are happy to help if necessary - the choice is yours.

Tea Pot Cottage is a delightful two-bedroom cottage located in the centre of Ringwood, perfect for exploring an abundance of eateries, and quaint and modern shops. The property has an open plan kitchen and living area on the ground floor providing a light and social space to relax in. You can spend cosy nights in the living area which has a 42” Smart TV, along with two-seater sofas providing plenty of room to spread out. There is also a desk with USB charger points, a bookcase and a dining table with four chairs. Next to the kitchen is a handy cloakroom cupboard and a downstairs shower room. Heading up to the first floor, there are two bedrooms. The first has a double bed, whilst the second bedroom has two 3ft twin beds.
Outside there is a beautiful garden at the back of the cottage which has a table with four chairs, a parasol and two sun loungers, perfect for enjoying a warm summer’s evening. There is a garden shed which houses an extra upright fridge/freezer, a washing machine and a tumble dryer.
Dating back to 1226, the market town of Ringwood stands on the banks of the River Avon and on the western fringes of the New Forest National Park. It is perfectly placed if you are after a walking holiday, as it is a town passed through by the Avon Valley Path. This route covers 34 miles of countryside stretching all the way from Salisbury in Wiltshire to Christchurch Priory on the south coast, following the River Avon the whole time. For more manageable walks, the route has been split into five smaller sections. One of Ringwood’s most popular attractions is the Brewery which offers tours of its premises. Just outside of the town is another top attraction, Liberty’s Owl, Raptor and Reptile Centre, where visitors can meet birds of prey, reptiles and insects.
There’s a wide choice of places to eat in Ringwood, whether you’re after traditional fare or freshly caught seafood. There is a café/bar on the High Street which offers breakfast/brunch/lunch every day. You can start the day on coffee or tea then end with cask ales, world lagers, wine or cocktails, with the option to dine al fresco in the lovely covered outdoor area.
New Forest Aqua Waterpark and Moors Valley with Go Ape climbing and golf are 2 miles away. Paultons Park is a 15-minute drive away and Monkey World is a 35-minute drive, so there is plenty of choice for a fun day out with the kids. Beach 10 miles. Shop 1 mile, pub 110 yards and restaurant ¾ mile.

Avondale is a wonderful, four bedroom, two bathroom home that has been lovingly refurbished to create a wonderful holiday home in a charming village location. With a spacious living room with a wood burner, and an open plan kitchen/diner with with picture window overlooking the garden and New Forest National Park beyond, this is the perfect choice for friends or families to use as a base to explore this stunning part of the country. The snug offers peaceful views out over the fields to the rear.
This fantastic cottage is in the peaceful village of Woodgreen, and you are very likely to see horses, donkeys and cattle (and during Panage, wild pigs) wandering past your front gate. Woodgreen is a charming village situated on the north west edge of the New Forest National Park. Woodgreen Common is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest, and there are many walks and cycle rides that can be undertaken directly from the cottage. Woodgreen also boasts a wonderful village pub, serving traditional British cuisine, which is an easy, level walk from the cottage (make sure you have a torch for the way home), and there is also a delightful community-run village store and post office.
The neighbouring market town of Fordingbridge has a pub on the river and a great grocer shop for local produce; there is also an organic farm shop close by with its own café. Fordingbridge is known for its medieval bridge with five arches, and has many local shops, boutiques, eateries and a church. Nearby there is a waterpark, which offers wakeboarding, sailing, fishing and other water sports, and there is horse riding and golf in the area too.
Thirty minutes or so to the south, you will find beautiful sandy beaches at Southbourne, Bournemouth and Sandbanks. Other places to visit include Moors Valley, Christchurch Harbour and Dorset Heavy Horse Farm. The historic cathedral cities of Winchester and Salisbury are within a short drive away and are well worth a visit. Family days out include Marwell Zoo, Beaulieu Motor Museum, Monkey World and Adventure Wonderland. The Annexe @ The Roost is a wonderful holiday home to simply relax in, a lovely setting for a long weekend, or as an ideal base to explore further afield for a longer stay. This home makes the very most of its location with an upside-down layout, a bedroom and a bathroom on the ground floor, the first floor offers a lovely living/dining area with far-reaching views across the New Forest National Park. There is a modern, well-equipped kitchen and outside is a private seating area that’s perfect to sit and enjoy a morning coffee or a gin and tonic after a day of exploring.
With miles of walking or cycling tracks from the door and a local village inn, a short stroll away you can enjoy a break from driving and enjoy the forest at a slower pace to really appreciate its beauty and tranquillity.
