Popular with locals and tourists alike, this pretty little coastal town offers a beautiful quay, which lies just opposite Crow’s Nest, a mix of traditional seaside shops and artisan boutiques, great places to eat, potter, shop and more. There’s a narrow gauge railway that runs past the pitch and putt golf course down to the pine woods and wide sandy beach with its candy-coloured beach huts. From the quay itself, there are boat trips to fish or see the seals, and you may also see people “gillying”, the local term for catching crabs by hand line.
