In peaceful rural surroundings, Low Hall Barn faces an enclosed paddock where you can sit out in the sunshine. The private paddock is fully enclosed with garden furniture provided. It is accessed across a quiet track which is shared by 3 neighbouring properties. There is a small patio/garden area with direct access from the property.
The exterior has changed very little over the years and appears to be a modest barn, yet when you step inside the interior is inspiring, innovative and sure to delight. This renovation has been a unique project taking many years to complete, with carefully sourced antiques as well as modern furnishings collaborating to create something really special. Each room becomes a talking point with upcycled vintage pieces having a whole new lease of life. The entrance hallway has beautiful handcrafted stairs, with wooden panelling made from the barn’s original reclaimed floorboards. Step through into the bespoke kitchen; this spacious room has its own island and is exceptionally well equipped. The adjoining living room is open plan with the dining area, with a wood burner to add to the charm. Glass doors open out from the living area giving you fabulous views out onto your paddock of wild flowers. The ground floor is complete with a toilet just off the entrance hallway, which has also been decorated beautifully. Upstairs are three incredible bedrooms, all with their own character and stylish flare. The first zip and link kingsize bedroom is a fun burst of colour, with its own en-suite shower room, whereas the master bedroom, with superking bed, is more muted with its own en suite bathroom which is the most delicious emerald green and gold. West Ayton is a pretty village in the North York Moors National Park, with a couple of pubs serving meals as well as the convenience of a shop and garage. There are many beautiful places to visit for a day out nearby including the picture perfect village of Thornton-le-Dale, with little cafés, a chocolatier and a bakery beside a little stream, as well as the ancient market town of Pickering where you can board the North York Moors steam train. There is a host of wonderful walking trails to discover, including many at Dalby Forest which is beautiful throughout all the seasons and has a tree top zip wire trail for the more adventurous.
In around a 15-minute drive you can be at the coast, walking along the long golden stretch of sand in Scarborough, with the historic seafaring town of Whitby nearby. Whitby boasts a fascinating history, with tales of Captain Cook, smugglers, Vikings and even Dracula, ideal for a day out to remember. You also have Robin Hood’s Bay, Filey and Bempton Cliffs with glorious coastal scenery to soak up. With golf, fishing and horse riding locally there is something in the area for everyone. Staithes has undeniable charm; this village huddles around the shoreline, with little fishing boats sailing out from the harbour. Runswick Bay is gorgeous, with sweeping golden sand, perfect for a scenic stroll while taking in the fresh sea breeze. Whitby is just a 30-minute drive away, a seafaring town with a fascinating history and an abbey overlooking the cobbled streets lined with independent shops and quirky cafés for you to explore, this place really has it all! Take a walk along the beach and find yourselves in the pretty seaside town of Filey, where you can explore quaint streets lined with tea rooms, restaurants, and traditional amusements. Filey Bird Garden and Animal Park will also provide fun for the whole family. A little further afield is the delightful village of Flamborough with its working lighthouse. A visit here would not be complete without a walk along to cliffs of Flamborough Headland Heritage Coast. If golf is your thing, then book a round at the Bridlington Links Golf Course. Inland from Arthur’s Place are the unspoilt rolling hills of the Yorkshire Wolds and the Yorkshire market towns of Malton and Pickering.

It lies just moments away from the rolling hills and moors of the North York Moors National Park, and the beautiful golden sand at Whitby’s Beach. Well-behaved dogs are welcome and will delight in exploring the spacious 120ft enclosed garden. You are just a mile from the centre of Whitby with many footpaths, beaches and woodland for you to enjoy walks together.
The welcoming open plan living space has comfortable seating around the TV and the dining area enjoys views out into the garden, which is a haven for wild birds. Explore Whitby, with its Gothic abbey, quaint cobbled old town and museums including one on a ship with an exhibition dedicated to the voyager, Captain Cook. Take advantage of your close proximity to the coast and spend a day at Whitby Beach, where you can try your hand at surfing or paddle boarding with the local surf school, sunbathe with your favourite book, or beachcomb the shores, looking out for fossils as well as fragments of precious jet. Jet jewellery is highly regarded here, and you can visit many jet jewellery shops as well as the historical workshop. Wildlife enthusiasts can enjoy a whale watching cruise, searching for seals, dolphins, and whales, which frequent the shores especially in September. Or travel further south along the coast to Bempton Cliffs where thousands of seabirds nest annually at the RSPB site.
The coastline here is fabulous with the neighbouring villages of Robin Hood’s Bay, Runswick, Staithes and Sandsend all perfect for a scenic day out all year round. Some visitors love soaking up the sun, whilst others are enthralled on a stormy day watching the waves. Be sure to visit the North York National Park, where a plethora of scenic walks through wooded valleys await, taking the steam train from Whitby gives you a wonderful tour of some of the prettiest villages on the moors.
