Aysgarth Falls, Moor Cote, Cover Bridge, Ellingstring and Masham Bank are certainly worth seeing. History buffs are often drawn to the former Cistercian monastery of Jervaulx Abbey, which was founded in 1156 and is now open to visitors all year round with an on-site tea room and a wide range of events. Middleham should also be high on the agenda – this famous horse racing town was once home to Richard III and Middleham Castle is steeped in history. Spend a day at the horse racing links and watch world class racehorses gallop down the track.

    Guests will find an abundance of top quality local pubs and restaurants offering fresh local produce in the area. Visitors of all ages will love The Forbidden Corner which is just a few miles away, a folly-turned family attraction that has surprises waiting around every corner. The popular market town of Leyburn is only 4 miles away, with its weekly farmers’ market, along with a variety of quaint shops, tea rooms and restaurants for an evening out.     The beautiful village of Brompton lies 8 miles to the west of Scarborough, a tranquil picturesque village home to the church where the poet William Wordsworth married. The visitor centre within the forest is popular all year round with its great café and the events that are organised for the children throughout the year. It’s also home to ‘Go Ape’ a high ropes adventure course with zip wires and swings.
