This cosy 18th-century former weaver’s cottage used to serve Bewerley Hall and overlooks the village green, enjoying a suntrap front patio area and dedicated parking to the rear. Bewerley is a stunning little village located in a steep valley and is just a 5-minute stroll to the town of Pateley Bridge, which won the National Best Main Street Award in 2018. Here you will find a selection of restaurants, pubs, tea rooms, delicatessens, bakeries and an award winning butchers, together with antique shops and boutiques. The spa town of Harrogate lies half an hour away and offers both high end and high street shopping together with a vast selection of pubs and restaurants together with Harlow Carr Gardens. Take time to have afternoon tea at the famous Betty’s tea room. All within half an hour are Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal, both National Trust, Ripley Castle and Brimham Rocks together with the Nidd Valley and beautiful Middlesmoor. Grassington, Kettlewell, Skipton and Masham make for alternative days out. Locally the Nidderdale Museum is in Pateley Bridge and the annual events include the Nidderdale Show and the Arts Trail. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

Riding Cottage is a gorgeous stone-built property set within the heart of the historic town of Pateley Bridge, tucked away nicely just off the High Street in a delightful little courtyard.

Set over two floors, you enter the property on the ground floor into the open plan living area, which is a comfortable, cosy area to relax in after a day exploring this stunning area. With exposed wooden beams and stone throughout the ground floor you instantly have that cottage feel. The kitchen/dining area is well presented and well equipped for all your culinary needs, along with a dining table which seats four people should you not wish to dine out in the many eateries close by. On the first floor there are two good sized bedrooms both with plush double beds guaranteeing a great night’s sleep and ensuring you are ready for the next day’s adventure. On the same floor there is a lovely family bathroom which presents a shower over the bath.

With the cottage situated just 250 yards from the High Street, the local pubs and restaurants are within easy reach. Explore the vast countryside of the Yorkshire Dales and Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which are both packed with rolling hills stretching as far as the eye can see. The area is full of bike trails and fantastic scenic walks, you will never struggle to find something to keep yourselves entertained. Alternatively, the beautiful cathedral city of Ripon is only 11 miles away along with the stylish spa town of Harrogate 30 minutes by car.

Nearby National Trust attractions include the magnificent Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal near Ripon, and Brimham Rocks in Summerbridge which are all a must. If you did want to leave the driving for another day, there are great walks available on your doorstep with the River Nidd running straight through Pateley Bridge.

Nearby you will find the fashionable spa town of Harrogate with an abundance of restaurants, pubs, pavement cafés and independent shops that can all be easily reached as can legendary Bettys Cafe Tea Rooms where afternoon tea is a must. Harewood House, just 25 minutes away, is a fantastic day out offering impressive art collections, a magnificent, rare bird garden and 100 acres of exquisite gardens to explore. For Emmerdale fans, you’ll also find the set deep within the grounds of the estate. Bolton Abbey can be reached in around a 15-minute drive and offers 30,000 acres of beautiful countryside to explore. The charming market town of Skipton, also 20 minutes away, is home to an ancient castle, cobbled high street and colourful street market. Upstairs are three bedrooms, two comfortable doubles with king size beds and a third with bunk beds along with a house bathroom, with shower and bath. Outside is a south facing outdoor seating area with a barbecue available for use, perfect for enjoying the sun and watching village life come and go.
Guests also have access to the adjacent garage where we have washing and drying facilities, log store should you run out and space to store bikes or walking equipment along with a hose if you end up bringing half the trail back with you!
