Grassington, Kettlewell, Skipton and Masham make for alternative days out. Locally the Nidderdale Museum is in Pateley Bridge and the annual events include the Nidderdale Show and the Arts Trail. The area is full of bike trails and fantastic scenic walks, you will never struggle to find something to keep yourselves entertained. Alternatively, the beautiful cathedral city of Ripon is only 11 miles away along with the stylish spa town of Harrogate 30 minutes by car.

    Nearby National Trust attractions include the magnificent Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal near Ripon, and Brimham Rocks in Summerbridge which are all a must.
