Traditionally furnished and well equipped, this Yorkshire cottage provides a comfortable and romantic hideaway, with a spacious living room, modern kitchen and bathroom plus two cosy bedrooms. Outside the cottage is a great sitting area from where you can enjoy the glorious views over the rolling countryside, and a courtyard style garden offering the perfect spot to sit and relax. Enjoy excellent walks from the doorstep, with a network of public footpaths in the vicinity, including the Eskdale Walk and the Cleveland Way coastal path.

Visit the seaside town of Saltburn-by-the-Sea, just a short drive away and boasting the oldest water balanced, funicular cliff tramway in Great Britain alongside great restaurants and beaches.

The village of Loftus has good amenities, including three pubs, a Gin palace with micro-brewery, local grocery shops, bakery and an award winning bookshop stocking plenty of local authors and gifts. In the ‘Iron Valley’ of Skinningrove you’ll find secluded beaches and The Tom Leonard Mining Museum.

Enjoy the fishing port of Whitby, with its winding cobbled streets, famous abbey and wonderful fish and chips, or explore the spectacular coastline and dramatic North York Moors. The area surrounding this Yorkshire cottage offers a wealth of attractions including the steam railway at Grosmont, the pretty market towns of Pickering and Helmsley and stately homes and gardens such as Castle Howard. 22 Sea is a beautifully presented end of terrace house nestled in a quiet corner of ‘The Bay’, a purpose built holiday village overlooking Filey bay on the picturesque North Yorkshire coastline. With open plan living, and stunning full height windows providing access to a first floor balcony.

The sitting room features large deep filled sofas placed around a traditional wood burning stove; ideal for cooler winter months. Here you can relax and unwind after a long day at the beach whilst catching up on your favourite holiday movie. The modern kitchen sits to one side and the appliances include both a washer/dryer and dishwasher. The dining table provides plenty of seating for six and is ideally placed to enjoy a family breakfast or delicious home cooked evening meal.
Two sets of bi-fold doors provide access to a covered patio area and flood the room with natural light. An understairs cupboard provides space for storage and a WC completes the ground floor accommodation.
Take the stairs to the first floor and you will find two stunning and spacious bedrooms, a kingsize double and a double room with traditional bunk beds. Both bedrooms offer the ’wow’ factor with vaulted ceilings and full height cathedral windows which open up to provide access to a full length, south facing balcony with lovely views across the holiday park. Here you can sit and enjoy an early morning coffee or perhaps a relaxing glass of wine after a busy day.
Completing the interior is a spacious bathroom, featuring a shower over bath.
Outside of the house is a covered patio area with a table and chairs and a brick-built BBQ; a real sun trap which can be accessed from the open plan living area. A peaceful and secluded spot to sit and relax (not enclosed). This holiday home welcomes dogs and there are miles of dog-friendly beaches to explore and also a meadow for them to enjoy.
The Bay has many facilities to make your stay enjoyable including a coffee shop, convenience store, pharmacy, and the John Paul Jones family pub and restaurant. It also boasts a leisure complex comprising of an indoor, heated swimming pool, sauna, steam room and gym. You can also enjoy a game of tennis or hone your archery skills (additional charges apply).
Just a short drive away is the traditional seaside town of Filey where you can find a plethora of tea rooms, restaurants and pubs alongside amusement arcades and shops selling holiday essentials such as buckets and spades! This beautiful part of North Yorkshire offers something for everyone including miles of cycle routes and footpaths to explore including the breathtaking cliffs at Flamborough Headland. This attractive cottage rests in the village of Gargrave, on the edge of Yorkshire Dales National Park, which is the location for the new TV series of All Creatures Great and Small and only 15 miles from Haworth famous for the Brontës and setting for the new and old Railway Children films. It is an ideal location with everything you need in the village, but the countryside right on your doorstep, with the Pennine Way and Settle Carlisle Railway both a short walk away and the river 100 yards away for picnics. Gateway to the Lakes but also close to well-known cities such as Blackpool, Manchester and Leeds (45 minutes’ by train). Links to London or Edinburgh with only one change of train.

Venture out further to find the famous, historic market town of Skipton, only 5 minutes’ by train or 10 minutes’ by bus, with its fine castle, multitude of shops, cafés, walks, boat trips and even a classic old school cinema.
Entering the property via the pathway you walk through one of the last formally set out gardens remaining in the village; seating and table are provided for al fresco dining. Sycamore Cottage was originally a barn, dating from the heyday of the lead mining industry. It has been furnished to create a homely atmosphere and is the ideal property in which to kick back and relax. The charming garden is enclosed and provides a small lawn and a nice eating area, as well as a higher patio area with lovely views. Situated just a couple of minutes’ walk from the centre of Grassington, it is on the Dales Way and so well placed for both long hill walking and easier riverside walking straight from the door.
Take advantage of Grassington’s wide selection of pubs, restaurants and cafés, together with interesting independent shops, or in the local town hall, you can play snooker or badminton. A little further afield lies the bustling market town of Skipton, where you can enjoy canal cruises, golf, or the indoor swimming pool. Although there are no great views from inside the property, the secluded and cosy interior, large communal kitchen, and great village location with parking for two cars, more than compensates. It is ideal for walkers and their dogs, small families, or perfect for two couples as they would each have their own shower or bathroom. Shop, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

Set in a small hamlet, these carefully converted holiday cottages form a courtyard development where every care has been taken with the design, internal furnishings and their impact on the environment. Bell’s Barn (prop ref 25899) stands detached from the other cottages and is suitable for wheelchair users. There is also enclosed paddock where your dogs can run free! Just a short walk from Crakehall, claimed to be one of the prettiest villages in the Dales, with a large village green overlooked by an imposing manor house where cricket and quoits teams often play. Nearby, the historic town of Bedale, 2½ miles, offers a weekly market every Tuesday and various events during the year, together with a range of individual shops, restaurants and pubs. Masham, renowned for the Black Sheep Brewery, is 10 minutes’ drive and Richmond with its Norman castle, Georgian architecture and thriving theatre is also easily accessible. Upstairs are two bedrooms both with their own en-suite showers. The beautifully dressed master bedroom has a super kingsize bed, with a dressing table as well as storage for your belongings. The second bedroom has a kingsize bed. Dogs are welcome to join you on your stay. This is a great destination for walkers and most pubs are dog friendly in this area.

Like most rural Yorkshire villages in this area there are free roaming sheep, which is part of the charm. As well as an abundance of wildlife including lapwing, curlew and red grouse which you are sure to encounter. Castleton is a typical, rural Yorkshire village with sandstone buildings which have been standing for centuries surrounded by the vast moorland of the North York National Park. You have a couple of friendly local pubs serving great home cooked meals, as well as a village convenience store, a little tea-room and a train station where the glorious Esk Valley line will take you to the coastal town of Whitby, stopping at scenic villages along the way.

French doors from the living room lead to a Mediterranean style garden with a dining area, perfect for dining al fresco and lazy summer days, whilst cooler evenings can be enjoyed curled up by the wood-burner, making this an ideal year-round holiday location. A scenic stroll along the riverside leads to Beningbrough Hall, a Baroque mansion with portraits from the National Portrait Gallery, a glorious walled garden, ancient trees and hidden wildlife. The farm shop and café sells home reared and local produce, and serves home cooked meals. The neighbouring village of Newton-on-Ouse, 2miles, has two popular pubs. The historic city of York is 7 miles away from the cottage, and is easily accessible from the Rawcliffe park and ride. Visitors can enjoy the world renowned sights including the iconic minster, Clifford’s Tower and the National Railway Museum. The cobbled streets are lined with ancient buildings, museums, art galleries and quaint traditional tea shops. The surrounding area offers numerous interesting days out. Visit the elegant spa town of Harrogate, the World Heritage Site at Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal, or drive out to the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors. Charming walks by the river and surrounding fields start from the doorstep and the Route 65 cycle road is located at the end of the lane. Bicycles can be stored in the owner’s garage, by pre-arrangement. The River Ouse is part of the cottage garden and is only 300 yards away from the back door, where guests to enjoy freshwater fishing free of charge, no licence is required. Fishing is possible from the steep banks, in a mowed area by the swing, or from any un-mowed areas within the boundary of The Landings Cottage (please note that it is a steep banking and not a wading river). Mooring for 1 boat is available by arrangement. Shop 1/2 mile, pub 2 miles and restaurant 1 mile.

On the same floor you have a small bathroom with a shower cubicle and heated towel rail along with a private bedroom with a double bed.
The enclosed garden offers a picnic bench along with a firepit which can also be used as a barbecue and gives you a full panoramic view of the North York Moors which is simply beautiful; luxury glamping does not get much more perfect than this. With the cottage situated near Helmsley, the local pubs, restaurants, shops and Helmsley Brewery are within easy reach, a short 6-mile drive.
The North York Moors National Park is full of bike trails and fantastic, scenic walks including the very popular Rievaulx Abbey. Nearby towns include Malton, Pickering, Thirsk, and a little further afield York. Also, the very popular coastal towns of Whitby and Scarborough are approximately a 40-minute drive away should you wish to have a day at the beach.
