Edwin Cottage has a spacious living area that has a leather sofa and two armchairs, so you have plenty of space to relax. Guests also benefit from access to Netflix and Wi-Fi that is included as part of your stay. A small 4-seater dining table is provided, enabling you to have your holiday meals in comfort. The kitchen and utility area is fully equipped, with a fridge freezer, washer dryer, iron and ironing board, dishwasher, microwave and electric oven with induction hobs. A highchair and travel cot is available for guest travelling with infants.

The backyard area is equipped with a 4 seater round table and chairs so guests can enjoy a private outside space. Upstairs there are two bedrooms and a family bathroom with a shower over the bath. The master bedroom has a king size bed, and the second bedroom has twin 2”6 beds.
Amble has plenty of pubs, restaurants, and cafés with a lovely market on a Sunday morning. Beach huts are available for hire along the Little Shore beach. Warkworth, with the castle on top of the hill, is a scenic walk of just over a mile away from Edwin Cottage. Less than 3 miles from Edwin Cottage is the The Hauxley Wildlife Discovery Centre. This is one of the best wildlife watching spots in the Northeast. Right next to the beach, it offers fantastic views across the length of Druridge Bay and is internationally renowned for its birds.
You can also travel inland only a few miles to the market town of Alnwick and Alnwick Castle that has been the filming location in a variety of films, including the exterior of Hogwarts in Harry Potter films. The castle also has a set of beautiful, landscaped gardens to explore, including the famous Poison Garden. Shilbottle is located midway between the picture perfect coastal village of Alnmouth to the east and the historic market town of Alnwick to the north west, both being a mere 4 miles from your door. Alnwick Castle, home to the Duke of Northumberland and film location for Harry Potter’s ‘Hogwarts’, is a popular visitor attraction. Another place thats worth a visit is Alnwick Gardens - a spectacular interpretation of a formal garden, including a grand cascade waterfall and where guests can dine in the restaurant of the largest tree house in Europe. There is a wide array of facilities available within this lovely market town, including independent shops, tea rooms, a cinema/playhouse and one of the largest second-hand book shops in the UK. The pretty seaside village of Alnmouth boasts a vast golden sandy beach and there is a variety of good restaurants, pubs, tea rooms and gift shops. Golf enthusiasts will delight in two courses, one being a fine 9-hole course adjacent to the beach and the other being a challenging 18-hole course at Foxton enjoying panoramic views. Travel 10 miles north east to the seaside holiday village of Beadnell, popular for watersports enthusiasts.
Visit Seahouses a further 2 miles north and take a boat trip to the Farne Islands to see the puffins at play (in season). Bamburgh Castle is only an extra 3 miles up this stunning coastline. Harbour Walk is a delightful property in the heart of Amble, a lovely seaside town. With views at the rear of the property, you can see the town square and harbour. This terraced property with street parking at the front and a small block paved, gated yard is a great base for a small family or couples. In 2021 the living room, dining room and small bedroom were refurbished and all other rooms were refreshed. In 2022 the master bedroom was refurbished and a feature has been made of the existing brick fireplace. A wall mounted Smart TV has also been installed.

Harbour Walk is set close to the town centre and harbour in this popular, family friendly seaside town. The shops, tea rooms and highly acclaimed ice cream parlour are all nearby so you can leave your car behind and stroll to one of the little fish restaurants near the harbour. Amble has a thriving and popular Sunday morning market, popular with locals and visitors. From the harbour you can take a puffin boat trip over to Coquet Island to see the RSPB bird sanctuary.

The pretty village of Warkworth with its hillside castle and selection of cafés and pubs, and a couple of bespoke small shops, is around a 1½ mile walk, but parking is free in this pretty village. A few miles further takes you to Alnwick with the Duke’s castle which was featured in Downton Abbey and used as part of Hogwarts in Harry Potter. The Duchess’ water gardens with the spectacular grand cascade and the world’s largest treehouse restaurant should not be missed.

Amble is set on the edge of the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Heritage Coastline, with miles of golden beaches and unspoilt coastline with plenty of cycle routes and footpaths. A little further north you can cross the causeway and visit Holy Island (check the crossing time) for a truly step back in time experience. The railway station at Alnmouth is only a few minutes drive where you can board a train to Edinburgh or Newcastle and spend a great day exploring these historic cities steeped in history. Alnwick is only 15 minutes away with its majestic castle used in some Harry Potter and Downton Abbey scenes, a great experience for both adults and children where you can look around the small town exploring the cobbled streets and shops.
