This is also wonderful walking and birdwatching country with numerous activities available nearby including golf, fishing and riding - a perfect location for exploring the borderlands of England and Wales, southern Snowdonia and Aberystwth’s seaside attractions. This gorgeous, semi-detached cottage, situated in the village of Llangattock, overlooking the River Usk, has been restored to a high standard with your comfort in mind. The ground floor of the property compromises a large kitchen and an open plan living/dining room with a wood burner. Upstairs you will find three lovingly furnished bedrooms, one with the added benefit of en-suite facilities, as well as a family bathroom. The outside of the property has an enclosed garden with lawned area, as well as a patio area complete with a private Jacuzzi. Honeycott lies within walking distance of the historic town of Crickhowell, named the 2019 ’best place to live in Wales’ by the Sunday Times, and also ’best high street in Britain’ 2018. There is an array of amenities there including boutiques, coffee shops and restaurants. For those who enjoy music festivals, Crickhowell is home to the Green Man during August. The town of Abergavenny is 6 miles away and there you will find some fine dining restaurants, including the Michelin-starred Walnut Tree Inn and The Hardwick Restaurant owned by chef Stephen Terry. The town is host to the annual food festival in September. Brecon is just 14 miles away from Honeycott and has lots of places of interest to visit such as the Welsh Regimental Museum and Brecon Cathedral, and it is also home to a jazz festival every August. For those wanting to explore the area on foot, Pen Y Fan, South Wales’ highest peak, offers great opportunities. Sugar Loaf Mountain also nearby and is the southernmost of the peaks in the Black Mountain Range. Glan Y Nant is a static caravan set in its own garden overlooking a stream and fields. It is just off the A44, a main route into Wales from Herefordshire, and is located in a rural area surrounded by wildlife and scenic views, however, you may hear the passing traffic. Overnight is quiet. It is a good base for hikers, dog owners, cyclists, artists and nature lovers. It is ideally situated to visit the Welsh towns of Presteigne, Knighton, Builth Wells (Royal Welsh Showground 11 miles away), Llandrindod Wells or to follow the Black and White village trail through pretty Herefordshire. It is also suitable as a base for the Hay-on-Wye Book Festival and Brecon Jazz Festival. If after a day of exploring you want to eat out there are pubs in Knighton, Presteigne, Titley and Kington.
There are three steps along with a ramp to enter the caravan, and once inside you will find a well-equipped kitchen and a welcoming open-plan living room with a separate dining area. Hidden below one of the bench-style sofas is a sprung sofa bed. The living area has an electric fire that enhances the cosy ambience. There is a double bedroom with an en-suite toilet with a sink and heated towel rail. The single bedroom is next to the family bathroom which has a shower cubicle, heated towel rail, toilet and sink. Both rooms have comfortable mattresses, hanging wardrobes drawer space and bedside tables with lamps. There is even a play pen available for guests to use!
Outside there is a large patio with a bench overlooking the stream. There are recliners and a dining table set for al fresco meals or just sit on the bench to enjoy the surrounding natural beauty. The enclosed lawn at one end provides space for dogs to play, and walks on the farmland can be arranged. Playing in the stream is a favourite and there is a bird hide on the farm where you can see numerous birds on feeders both resident and seasonal. Cwm Yr Wch Cottage is a cosy yellow cottage full of character, and is an ideal, relaxing base for up to four guests. With plenty of living space, the ground floor includes a relaxing lounge area with sofas facing the snuggly log burner and wall mounted TV above, the perfect socialising space for quality time with your loved ones. The living area is open plan with a spacious dining area, and there’s a further separate well equipped kitchen, conservatory and ground floor bathroom. There are two generously sized bedrooms on the first floor. Outside the cottage has a courtyard garden offering further social space ideal for those warm summer evenings, and driveway parking is also available.
You’ll find Cwm Yr Wch Cottage at the end of a quiet lane in Dunvant. The location lends itself well for exploring Swansea and The Gower, with access to fantastic walks from your doorstep. The Gower is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with miles of rugged coastline, ‘hidden gem’ beaches, and coastal trails to explore.
Just a short drive from Cwm Yr Wch will get you to some of the gorgeous beaches, including Oxwich Bay or Three Cliffs Bay only being 15 minutes away. In just 20 minutes you could drive to Swansea or The Mumbles. Swansea is the second biggest city in Wales and has lots to offer including leisure activities, shopping centres, theatre, and cinemas as well as an abundance of places to eat and drink! The Mumbles is traditional fishing town full of history, with a Victorian pier, a lighthouse built in 1794 and Oystermouth Castle. The bustling, boutique high street here has lots of independent shops, cafés and restaurants as well as some familiar favourite restaurants.

Bay Cottage is set in the grounds of Coytrahen House, an 18th-century landscaped park with a Georgian country house. The park is mostly woodland and offers 42 acres to explore. Bay Cottage is detached and sits just behind the main country house. The cottage has a modern feel with a touch of country style and the luxury finish throughout makes for a comfortable and relaxing place to stay.

The 42-acre plot is based in Coytrahen, Bridgend; you’ll find a local pub in the village, and more in neighbouring towns and villages around the borough. Bridgend County Borough has lots to explore, including historical sites, country parks and the heritage coast, a designer shopping outlet and some fantastic independent restaurants around the county. So whether you fancy a day at the beach, or want to indulge in some local history, or even a day of retail therapy followed by some quality dining, it’s all there to enjoy.
If you want to see more of South Wales Bay Cottage is a great base… road access for South Wales is good, with the M4 motorway a short drive away. Head west for Swansea and the famous Gower Peninsula Area Of National Beauty or Pembrokeshire coast. Or a short drive east will get you to Cardiff, Wales’ capital city. Cardiff is home to all kinds of events year round, including international sports, musical superstars, and much more! Within an hour’s drive you could also find yourself in the famous Welsh valleys, where you’ll find waterfall walks (where some famous movie scenes have been filmed), or the Brecon Beacons at the foot of the tallest peak in South Wales, Penyfan.

The lodge has private parking below the property from which there is a short uphill walk to the front door, opening directly into the spacious open plan living space. For the more active guests, there is a great selection of walks, such as the Llanymynech Rocks nature reserve, or for those looking for longer walks, the Shropshire Hills is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty all well worth a visit.
