The region’s capital, Dumfries, is a 25 minute drive, and is known for its links with Robert Burns; visitors may explore his house, sample a dram in Burns’ favourite hostelry - The Globe Inn, or find out more about him at the Robert Burns Centre. Other nearby areas of interest are Colvend Golf Course and Southerness Golf Course, both 10 minutes away, and horse riding facilities at Barend Riding School at Sandyhills, just 5 minutes’ drive and fishing. - Ballindalloch, ScotlandTake advantage of the proximity to the famous salmon fishing River Spey for a scenic walk, or cycle along the Speyside Way, and be sure to see the historic Ben Rinnes Distillery, which was founded in 1826 with its iconic tall red chimney. In the heart of Speyside there are numerous famous distilleries to explore. For walkers, a path starting up Ben Rinnes is nearby, and the lovely Lynn Waterfalls are also close to the old packhorse bridge in the village.
Aberlour is a charming little town located just 1.2 miles from the property in the heart of Scotland’s Speyside region, famous for whisky, Walker’s shortbread and salmon fishing. The town and vicinity is home to a variety of attractions, including the Speyside Cooperage, numerous famous distillery tours, The Wee Ferm, the attractive Aberlour Victoria Bridge and nearby Craigellachie (Telford) Bridge over the River Spey.
