There are lots of countryside walks and trails to follow from the door, and the village has a traditional butchers, store, café and hotel. Whilst wandering around the old lanes with their historic buildings, it is easy to see why it has been named the most attractive village in Scotland. The village green is a good place for children to play and is the location for the annual games.
This year we are celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the St Andrews Open Golf Championship. The Open Championship starts on Monday 11th July 2022 for the qualifying rounds, then the main days of the open are 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th July.
Morrice House lies just 3 miles from the picturesque market town of Cupar, which is the ideal place for picking up supplies. For families, the Scottish Deer Centre, Sea Life Centre and award-winning sandy beaches at Tentsmuir Forest and beach are all places of interest.
The historic city of St Andrews is only 8 miles away, making Morrice House ideal for guests visiting friends and family who are based at St Andrews University or attending one of the graduation ceremonies. As a popular tourist location, St Andrews offers a great selection of quality cafés, bars and restaurants, excellent shopping as well as a sandy beach and harbour and many historic buildings. Renowned worldwide as the home of golf and regularly playing host to the Open Championship, this is a golfer’s paradise with its championship courses, as well as the British Golf Museum.
For days out, visit Falkland Palace and garden, one of Scotland’s finest Renaissance palaces which is steeped in history. Fans of the epic TV series ‘Outlander’ will recognise the location which was used as 1940s Inverness, and there are many more locations in the area used in the series. Within easy driving distance, Dundee is only 15 miles, Perth 23 miles and the vibrant capital city of Edinburgh can be reached in just over an hour - or you can take the train from Cupar station where there is a regular service. Castle Park is nestled in a residential area tucked away in the popular and charming village of Ceres. It is the ideal ’home away from home’, making it the perfect base to explore the beautiful Kingdom of Fife. Castle Park has been refurbished in 2023 to a high standard, offering three comfortable bedrooms, one double and two singles (6ft-3in long beds). The living room offers open plan dining, whilst the kitchen is well-equipped. There is a good size garden, perfect to sit out al fresco in the evening after a day of exploring.
Ceres is a peaceful village with quaint cottages, coffee shops, pub, restaurant, shop, butchers and a museum. Ceres is home to Scotland’s oldest Highland Games, which is on the last weekend in June every year. There are plenty of beautiful country walks right on your doorstep including Craighall Den, Pilgrim’s Way, and the Hill of Tarvit. Nearby attractions include The Scottish Deer Centre, Craigtoun Country Park, Barbarafield Riding School, Tentsmuir and Morton Lochs. Fife also has beautiful beaches along the coastline.
A visit to St Andrews, the home of golf is a must. St Andrews is a beautiful historic town full of vibrant shops, sandy beaches and places to eat, or why not visit the inspiring city of Dundee where you can visit the famous Victoria and Albert Museum. Dundee has so much to offer from great restaurants, art galleries, a cinema and plenty of shops, all within a 30-minute drive.

The farm boasts an unobstructed elevated positions commanding panoramic views and perfect for those seeking peace and quiet, give or take the odd tractor. Surrounded by stunning countryside and yet only 5 minute drive to the bustling town of Cupar, this lovely family friendly cottage has so much to offer. Recently refurbished throughout this property has a lovely sun room on entry, a fantastic spacious lounge with a wood burner complete with fire guard. Along the hall you will find three very good sized bedrooms all looking out on to the fields. There is a newly installed bathroom, complete with bath and shower cubicle. At the other end of the house there is a traditional farm kitchen, fully equipped and a perfect dining area to enjoy family meals or any special occasions. What a fantastic little bungalow, perfect for a romantic coastal break, situated back from the Tayport marina with wonderful views from the living room over all the boats moored there. Watch the comings and goings of this vibrant harbour while having your morning coffee, either from the living room or step outside through the patio doors onto the enclosed sitting out area at the front overlooking the harbour.
The property is tastefully decorated throughout and has everything you could wish for in a restful break away. The fine sands at Tentsmuir Nature Reserve are wonderful for walking, with the forest behind, interspersed with lots of trails through mixed woodland and a wonderful sandy beach. Enjoy a tour at one of Fife’s newest craft distilleries, Tayport Distillery, who make flavoured gin, vodka and eau de vie, or back over the famous Tay Bridge, the cosmopolitan city of Dundee awaits, with the RSS Discovery, the V & A and plenty of boutique shops and eateries for you to enjoy. West cottage is situated just outside the village of Freuchie between the historic county town of Cupar and a larger new town of Glenrothes.
This charming ‘home away from home’ is the ideal base to explore the wonders of the beautiful Kingdom of Fife. This 3-bedroom cottage is ideal for families, couples and small groups and will sleep 6 people comfortably across 3 double bedrooms. The master bedroom has an en-suite shower room and there is a family bathroom off the main hall serving the rest of the property. Situated not far from the main North/South arterial motorway, the M90, West Cottage is exceptionally well located, allowing relatively easy access to county’s many attractions. Glasgow to the west will take just over an hour, Edinburgh and Dundee will take less than an hour as will the famous St Andrews with one of the UK’s finest beaches and of course the Home of Golf.

Newburgh C Listed Townhouse, which is set over three floors, has enjoyed a whole new makeover and pampering in 2021. Now with its high-end finishes and tasteful decoration throughout, you will enjoy staying in this warm and welcoming house with its sumptuous quality furnishings and homely feel.
Perched on the south side of the Firth of Tay, the townhouse has views out to the Firth from the upper bedrooms, where visitors can access the start of the Fife Coastal Path. The elevated living room has north and south facing windows plus a cosy open fire to sit by on a cool day. The ground floor comprises of a kitchen/dining room with views and access out to the courtyard. The south-facing private garden is laid with stone and surrounded by beautiful plants and alpines. Up one step from the ground floor is the shower room and then carry-on up a rounded turret staircase to the next level.
The first floor comprises of the living room, an adult-size bunk bed room, and separate toilet. The top floor includes a king-size and twin room. Each of these rooms have windows on both sides of the property to allow sunlight to filter in. No need to use the kitchen when the village has its own distillery! Just a 10-minute walk away and you will find yourself at the award winning Lindores Abbey Distillery. Live music, whisky tasting, gin, distillery tours, beautiful cheese boards are just a few of the features! East Port café and Jamesfield Farm shop are also local. 5 minutes’ drive away to the next village over and you can get excellent food from Abernethy’s Crees Inn pub or Clootie McToot Dumplings Café.
Situated in North Fife and on the border of Perthshire there are dozens of beautiful walks, coastal paths and hills to explore. Walk through the enchanted forest and under a waterfall at Maspie Den then on to Falkland Palace.

Coachman’s Cottage is an attractive cottage in a quadrangle surrounding a pretty courtyard with its very own clock tower.
