Just a little further along the coast is the bustling tourist harbour town of Anstruther and there are daily ferries and boat trips leaving between April and September that take you to the Isle of May, which is a National Nature Reserve. It is home to colonies of sea birds including puffins and the surrounding waters are the habitat of seal colonies. St Andrews is just 10 miles away and is well worth a visit with historic buildings, Sea Life Centre, boutique shops, and a wide range of bars and restaurants. Bramble Cottage is a deceptively spacious, semi-detached, single-storey cottage situated in the very heart of the popular seaside town of Leven, with the owner living next door. The promenade provides activities to suit all with amusement arcades, putting green, crazy golf, play areas, festival gardens park, Leven leisure pool and regular events including the Summer Prom Festival with live music. The local shops, cafés, bars and restaurants are all within a short walk. For guests who enjoy walking, Letham Glen and Silverburn offer woodland walks and the Fife Coastal Path passes through the town and is ideal for exploring the coast on foot, discovering the picturesque fishing villages and beautiful sandy beaches and coves.

Just a short stroll from Arc House you can explore the old wynds and lanes leading down to the seafront in the picturesque fishing village of Cellardyke, with a sandy beach and old harbour. There is a water sports centre with sea kayaking and open canoeing available for you to explore the shore line with expert tuition. The Fife Coastal Path can be joined here, and in either direction you can enjoy fantastic coastal views over the Firth of Forth and which takes you to pretty fishing villages, secluded coves and white sandy beaches.

Anstruther is just a 5-minute walk away with its working harbour, local pubs, seafront coffee shops, fish and chip shops, galleries and shops. Freshly caught fish and shellfish are available locally, including lobster, crabs and white fish.
